Refurbishments Added & Lengthened

The refurbishment for the Carnation Cafe on Main Street USA was originally planned to go from February 25th to the 29th, but has now been extended to run through March 11th. Also, the Plaza Gardens Stage will be closed for a very short refurbishment from March 3rd to the 5th.

DCA Expansion Update

The plans for the DCA renovations always keep changing, & here are a few of the latest changes:

  • The Orange Stinger, instead of being moved north, is now planned to be removed.
  • Instead of changing MuppetVision 3D to Mickey’s PhilharMagic or to a “flexible digital theater facility”, it will be kept.
  • In Phase II, the MuppetVision 3D & Who Wants to Be a Millionaire buildings may be made into another big E-Ticket.
  • The DCA Preview Center is now planned to replace Seasons of the Vine.

It’s a Character World After All

We’re hearing of a couple of BIG RUMORS of what could be coming to It’s a Small World. Don’t let these upset you, as they are still rumors.

Over in Hong Kong Disneyland, they’re currently building their version of It’s a Small World, which is scheduled to open this Summer. What will be unique about their version is that it will actually feature Disney characters in their home countries. Imagineers are looking at duplicating this over to Disneyland’s version. I know for a fact that this will upset many Disneyland fans (myself included), & Disneyland is definitely not the place to do it (WDW is).

A (hopefully) less controversial change that may be coming is the replacement of the Jungle room with an American themed room, similar (yet on a grander scale) to the version in Disneyland Paris. In my opinion, a good idea for 2 reasons, 1) the room is a bit plain & boring right now, & 2) they’ll finally be able to do something with that room for It’s a Small World Holiday.

Also, some better decorations will definitely be coming to the Hello & Goodbye rooms.

DLNT Site Update

We’ve been going through a few Administration problems here on the site. One problem was that all posts were changed to show SparkyLD as the poster, but he only wrote these 2 posts. So all posts that aren’t on the main page right now, show Sparky as the writer. But don’t worry, we’ll try to have that & all other problems fixed by tonight!

DLNT Episode 2 (2/24/08)

So sit back, relax, and enjoy all of the Disneyland news, information, and fun we have to offer on the Disneyland News Today Podcast!

We start off Episode #2 with our weekly Disneyland News and Rumors. Among the things covered this week are the California Food and Wine Weekends, the Goat in Big Thunder Mountain, more on the PIXAR Play Parade, and much more! I tried doing the news by myself this week, so I could test if it works better with just me, or with guests. What do you think?

Each week, we’ll be sharing with you a piece of live-in-park audio from the Disneyland Resort. This week, a lesser known attraction inside Disney’s California Adventure, Animation Academy. In Animation Academy, you can learn to be a Disney animator, and draw a random Disney character. On the show this week, we learn how to draw Daisy Duck!

Finally, joining me for this week’s discussion are Tom Corless, Jason Diffendal, Nick McLamb, Jose Castillo, John Corigliano, and Sparky LD. We go around the table asking each participant what their favorite & least favorite Disneyland Mountains are! And sorry ahead of time for the background noise in this segment!
