It looks as though Hong Kong Disneyland is getting in on the fun as well. We saw the previews of the dated 2014 Mickeys that would be releasing this year (along with their blind box variants) at the Reflections of Evil event back in September, and it seems as though Hong Kong beat all other parks out of the gates, as their 2014 Mickey is now available. Take a look at the design below (photo cred: Vinylmation World):
As we know, each of these Mickeys have unique designs on their coat for their respective parks. Additionally, the variants sport an all red clothed Mickey. Will you guys be hunting down all 4 (or 8) of these designs?
Another Japanese Vinylmation alert!!! Mark your calendars for November 14th, because these two new Japan Daruma keychains will be hitting shelves. Vinylmation World spotted this pair, take a look at the designs below:
These will make perfect companions to the regular sized three inch Daruma Vinylmation coming out. The vinyls are following a similar junior trend where the platform is starting to have much more detailed designs. Love the vibrant colors and the hidden Mickeys on the pair. What do you guys think of these?
Talk about hard pictures to take… it took some searching around Walt Disney World, but we found most of the Myths and Legends roaming about the land.
Destination Vinylmation: How long have you been collecting?
Tony and Erica: Just This year…Started with Pixar1 and Robots 3. We did have a few from our last Disney trip. But wasn’t “collecting” then. We got hooked when we pulled the Pixar chaser with our 1st blox.
DV: How many do you have in your collection?
T&E: We currently have 195 and hope to be at 200 soon!
DV: Which is your favorite vinyl?
Erica: Jack and Sally from the 1st NBC set (first purchase) Tony: I like the darker Mickey’s Runaway Brain, Monster, and the BTM2 Mickey…
DV: Which of your Vinylmation is the most treasured?
Erica: Ariel custom by Panonboard Customs Tony: The new Black Cauldron Chaser from V4 (Personal connection to that movie)
DV: Which vinyl was the hardest to get?
T&E: The Little Mermaid pass holder exclusive. They wouldn’t sell it to me (didn’t understand why at the time)
DV: Who is your favorite Disney artist?
T&E: There are so many good ones. Enrique Pita has done some of our favorites
Favorite custom (if you have) and favorite custom artist? Its hard to choose.
DV: How about Custom Artists?
T&E: We LOVE our Panonboard custom (Great work). But Ryan Branoff, and Mike Ventrone have had AMAZING sets come out recently!
DV: Hardest display to create?
T&E: None were hard really. I make wood frame inserts that slide into ANY empty tray. I can make one using the measurements, paint, slide into the tray, DONE! I have shared how to do this with about 50 people by now via Facebook. Its so easy and quick. Its Fun!
DV: Figure you’re most looking for?
Erica: Si and Am Japan ETO Tony: Paint Drip Mickey and 3D Mickey
DV: Anything else you would like to add?
T&E: There are so many great people that we’ve met doing this, and so many great artists. We are excited to keep collecting and growing our collection. Our son loves them. And my sister is absolutely hooked. Its really brought us together.
DV: Thanks for your time and for sharing your impressive collection!
At the trading event tonight, the attendees were treated to a special opportunity to buy some Urban Redux 2 vinyls before their release date this Friday. In the process, Vinylmation Kingdom writer Jay Grumet was lucky enough to pull the first variant from this set, and share the photo on Vinylmation Exchange. Take a look at the variant below:
This follows a similar pattern from the first Urban Redux series, where the variants mainly consist of color changes as opposed to major design changes. A pretty cool variant from one of the stronger figures in this set. I think i might prefer the color scheme from the original figure more though. It’s safe to say that there will probably be another variant in this set, maybe even a variant chaser? Hopefully we’ll find out this Friday, October 25th, when the set releases to the public. Will you guys be hunting down this one?
November 22nd continues to be a jam-packed release day, as the Official Vinylmation Blog revealed yet another figure that will release on that date. Today we got a full preview of the Park 13 combo topper, and it features the mouse from Mickey Magnificent, an attraction at Magic Kingdom. This topper was designed by Maria Clapsis, and will release at the parks and online for $24.95 each. Take a look at the preview:
Another great topper to add to the collection, this one features two accessories, a top hat and cane. I also love the cunning expression on Mickey’s face. Definitely one of the stronger combo toppers we’ve seen in a while. And the bunny on the hat is a nice touch. What do you guys think? Will you be picking this one up?

Today, the Official Vinylmation Blog posted a preview of the Limited Edition Olaf figure being released. Olaf is the snowman from the upcoming film “Frozen”, and like Gusteau, this LE release appears to be coming in a blind box with the possibility of pulling a variant. Designed by Maria Clapsis with an LE of 2500, these will release online and in parks on November 22nd for $16.95 each. Take a look at the previews below:
This first design is the normal “wintertime” Olaf. The odds of pulling him are 9/10, so there are 2250 total of these guys.
This design is the “summertime” variant. The odds of pulling him are 1/10, so like the Gusteau variant, there are only 250 total of these guys floating around.
Which design do you guys like more? Without having seen the film yet, I think I like the “wintertime” Olaf more, as that is the image of him that I’m familiar with. All of this can change after Frozen comes out. I also really like the use of the clear in the arms, it adds a little more depth. And of course, the expressions are priceless. Will you guys be picking this guy up?
The Official Vinylmation Blog released full 360 degree photos of Anna and Elsa today, the two vinylmation figures included in the Frozen two-pack. The vinyls were designed by Maria Clapsis, are LE 1500, and will release both at parks and online on November 22nd for $29.95. Take a look at the designs below:
I think these designs, like most of Maria’s work, look fantastic. While I am not attached to these characters yet, I have high hopes for this movie, and will probably want to add them to my collection eventually. I love all of the little details, from the snowflakes on the gloves, to the braided hair, to the girly expressions on their faces. Will you guys be picking this two-pack up?
