PHOTO: New Marquee Sign Revealed for Walt Disney Presents at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Walt Disney: One Man’s Dream is currently in transition to become Walt Disney Presents at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Today, the new marquee for the attraction was revealed.

The sign, in a way, confirms that the One Man’s Dream film will continue to play when there is not a movie preview to be shown. The sign also advertises the meet and greet experience inside, which will continue to rotate with new movie releases.

Walt Disney Presents will showcase models from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land, as well as art and more from Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway beginning September 8th.

BREAKING: Colin Treverrow Is No Longer Directing “Star Wars: Episode IX”

 width=

Disney has just announced that Colin Trevorrow will no longer be directing “Star Wars: Episode IX”.

This comes as not much of a surprise after Lucasfilm recently fired Phil Lord and Christopher Miller from the “Han Solo” movie over creative differences. Lucasfilm also had issues with Gareth Edwards’ direction of “Rogue One” resulting in re-shoots that did not include Edwards’ participation. A few years ago, Josh Trank was also fired as director of the “Boba Fett” spin off movie.

Lucasfilm is very protective of the Star Wars franchise and I can’t blame them with being overly concerned with Treverrow’s participation. This is the final chapter of the current Star Wars trilogy and you dont want it in the hands of someone with questionable experience. Treverrow did have blockbuster success due to his direction of “Jurassic World” but prior to that, he was virtually unknown and his latest movie, “The Book Of Henry” was a critical and box office flop.

From The Wrap:

Colin Trevorrow is stepping down as the director of “Star Wars: Episode IX,” Disney announced on Tuesday.

“Lucasfilm and Colin Trevorrow have mutually chosen to part ways on ‘Star Wars: Episode IX,’” Disney said in a statement. “Colin has been a wonderful collaborator throughout the development process but we have all come to the conclusion that our visions for the project differ. We wish Colin the best and will be sharing more information about the film soon.”

Trevorrow was announced to direct “Episode IX” in 2015, set for release in 2019. The film will conclude the third trilogy of “Star Wars” movies that began with “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” last year. Rian Johnson is directing “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.”

Trevorrow directed the 2015 box office hit “Jurassic World” and has a writing credit on its upcoming sequel, “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.” His recent film, “The Book of Henry,” was a critical and commercial flop.

Hurricane Irma to Possibly Affect Walt Disney World Operations, What to Know If You’re Visiting WDW

Hurricane Irma, a dangerous Category 5 hurricane, could impact Central Florida and operations at Walt Disney World in the coming days.

 width=

While it is still too soon to narrow down specifics on the exact path of Irma’s center and eyewall, there is an increasing chance of a major hurricane strike on at least part of South Florida, including the Florida Keys, this weekend. According to the latest NHC forecast, the center of Irma may be very close to South Florida by Saturday night, with conditions going downhill already during the day on Saturday.

While the event is still too far out for projections to be absolutely correct, there is a possibility of impact to the Walt Disney World Resort.

In preparation for the storm, Florida Gov. Rick Scott has declared a state of emergency for all 67 Florida counties ahead of Hurricane Irma.

The number one question we received last year as Hurricane Matthew threatened Orlando was in regards to Walt Disney World’s cancellation and refund policies during these types of events. For this unfamiliar with Walt Disney World’s hurricane policy:

If a hurricane warning is issued by the National Hurricane Center for the Orlando area—or for your place of residence—within 7 days of your scheduled arrival date, you may call in advance to reschedule or cancel your Walt Disney Travel Company Magic Your Way vacation package and most room only reservations (booked directly with Disney) without any cancellation or change fees imposed by Disney.

If you have products and services provided by third-party suppliers included in your vacation—such as airlines, hotels, car rental agencies or vacation insurance companies—you will continue to be responsible for any non-refundable payments, as well as cancellation or change fees assessed by those suppliers. The policy does not apply to certain special events or dining experiences.

This policy also applies to Disney’s Vero Beach Resort or Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort in the event a hurricane warning is issued for those destinations.

If you have questions or you wish to reschedule your vacation due to a hurricane warning, please call (407) 939-7675. Guests under 18 years of age must have parent or guardian permission to call.

Of course, WDWNT.com will continue to provide updates as we get closer to the storm and its projected arrival.
