Robert Ashburn’s 4/13/11 Magic Kingdom Photo Report
WDWNT Reporter Robert Ashburn visited the Magic Kingdom on Wednesday and took a number of newsworthy photos to share with us. There is a ton of change happening at Disney’s flagship park as of late, so let’s take a look:
Welcome
That’s different…
Angelica from Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is greeting guests outside of the Adventureland Veranda while she waits for Goofy to move out of Adventureland
STOP LICKING YOUR SCREEN! 🙂
The original Tropical Serenade/Enchanted Tiki Room is now set to return August 16th, but that could change again
The front part of the queue has been left open for guests who get caught in the rain, but the remainder of the pre-show area is walled-off
More details pop up at Tortuga Tavern every week
Such a detailed menu…
A new sign pays homage to the opening year, 1973
Nice to see these signs were made so quickly
This meet and greet will soon belong to Angelica
It was detailed quite a bit for such a short-lived offering
Let’s take a ride on Pirates of the Caribbean
“Carlos, Don’t be chicken!”
“I’m not spongin’ for rum, it be gold I’m after”
“Here kitty, kitty, kitty…”
“Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate’s life for me!”
The hats are back and swaying better than ever
Over at the Haunted Mansion, the Imagineers placed a wedding ring in the pavement at the new interactive queue, probably tired of the arguments over the removed silver circle near the exit that guests thought was a wedding ring
A dead rose on the top of Master Gracey’s headstone
They made sure there was no confusion, you can clearly see what it is
Moving to Fantasyland, the frame of the rock-work for “Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid” is ready to go up
Beast’s Castle stands tall over Fantasyland, high above what will be the Be Our Guest Restaurant
It’s quite tall…
The building is hidden behind this castle facade
Rock-work continues to go up on the side of Enchanted Tales with Belle
The framework has been finished for quite some time now…
I’d dare to say the forced perspective works
It’s hard to tell from these photos how big the castle actually is
Work continues on the remainder of Belle’s village
Looks pretty amazing
A ton of work left to be done, despite all the progress on the upper portion
Pooh-Coo Clock!
No new progress on The Barnstormer/Goofini
These walls are reportedly for the Dumbo the Flying Elephant queue building
Another look at the Barnstormer building
The back side of the “Be Our Guest” Restaurant, as seen from the WDW Railroad
The Club 626 Dance Party continues to be the Magic Kingdom’s hottest new attraction
The Laugh Floor finally got a permanent sign to tell guests operating hours, so no more big wooden temporary ones out in front of the attraction!
Let’s go to Casey’s Corner
Want to try one of the new hot dogs?
That’s a big wiener… stop giggling! You know what I meant…
Looks like tarps may be coming down early on The Confectionary
The garden next door to City Hall is almost complete as well, just in time for the arrival of the Easter Bunny!
Goodnight Magic Kingdom!
