First Look at Brand-New Disney Store in Times Square

While it isn’t a dose of Disney news from Orlando, the Disney Store is set to officially open its brand new flagship store in New York City on Tuesday afternoon. Even though the store is not officially open yet, it has been operating normal hours since Thursday, a soft opening of sorts to put it in park lingo. WDWNT Lead Reporter Tom Corless was able to visit the store a few times over the weekend and has hundreds of photos to share from the Disney Store in Times Square, so let’s take a look:

The rest of the band!

Well okay, maybe not the rest of the band, but today Disney’s Vinylmation Blog posted some new photos of upcoming Vinylmations. As I asked for last week when they announced Sam the Eagle (I’m going to just assume they read this blog); Disney has shown us another member of the Electric Mayhem- Janice from the Muppets Two collection. (Now if they would just release Animal, Dr. Teeth, Floyd and Zoot!)

They also revealed a Mushroom and Caterpillar from Cutesters Too, and Donald Duck from the Nerds Rock collection. I’m glad Cutesters Too won’t all be the Kids in Costumes, like we saw at Trade City. I think I perfer not having people, who aren’t specific characters, on vinylmation and just using the body as a canvas for artwork.

Also shown were a Walt Disney World 40th Anniversary piece, as well as a 9″ showing the Matterhorn for some unannounced series that they stress is way in the “future”.

Neil Patrick Harris Confirmed as New California Screamin’ Voice

On Friday, Guests riding California Screamin’ at Disney California Adventure park may have noticed a familiar new voice as they prepared to board the longest and fastest roller coaster at the Disneyland Resort.

Disney Imagineers recently worked with actor Neil Patrick Harris to make new recordings for California Screamin’. These new themed recordings recall a carnival sideshow barker, in keeping with the theme of all the boardwalk amusements in Paradise Pier.

2010 Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade Taping at Disneyland

Earlier today, we completed some segments for the 2010 Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade at the Disneyland Resort and I wanted you to be the first to see some fun pictures from the taping.

First, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy was joined by “Dancing With the Stars” professional dancers Tony Dovolani, Chelsie Hightower, Kym Johnson, and Louis Van Amstel in a rousing performance of Phineas and Ferb’s favorite holiday song, “Christmas is Starting Now.”

Selena Gomez then sang the classic,“Winter Wonderland.” Selena is always so much fun and I think her fans are really going to love this performance.

During a break from the show, Chip and Dale got a chance to visit the “Wizards of Waverly Place” star and we took this fun photo.

2 Years of Vinylmation!

Happy 2 Years Vinylmation! Everyone else seems to have started the celebration early, but we here at Destination Vinylmation waited til the baking was done and the day was correct before wishing you a happy 3rd year. We’ve only been collecting for 6 months, but we love you all the same.

So as a special treat we baked everyone a treat! Even our vinylmation got in on the party. (Statue of Liberty Minnie lit the candles!)

Ice Cool!!!

Here is an up close look at the Ice Cube tray exclusive 3″ Vinylmation. It’s is like a Clear Vinylmation with a frosty look to it. And two eyes, a nose and a mouth visible on the head. I would say I can’t wait to freeze up some Vinylmation shaped ice cubes and sip a cold drink while adding him to my collection, but it’s cold at WDW today! Hot chocolate for me… just hope Ice Cube Mickey doesn’t melt.

The Orange Bird has landed in Florida once again

Here is the new Annual Passholder exclusive Orange Bird Vinylmation by artist Monty Maldovan. This Citrus mascot who once made the Sunshine Terrace in the Magic Kingdom his home from 1972 to the mid 80’s, is now available for purchase at D Street in Downtown Disney. I love the retro design elements. He makes my mouth water for a Citrus Swirl, how about you?
