Potential “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” Concept Poster Seems To Imply That Someone Has Turned To The Dark Side

 width=

Potential Spoilers Ahead!

MakingStarWars.net has viewed potential theatrical posters for “Star Wars: The Last Jedi”. These posters below are not the actual concept art but sketches that MakingStarWars.net editor Jason Ward and Sharna put together based on the concept art that they had actually seen. MakingStarWars.Net has a very good track record, especially when it came to providing information for “The Force Awakens” and “Rogue One” before both of these movies were released. And so far it seems like everything that MakingStarWars.net has mentioned about “The Last Jedi” has been confirmed by “The Last Jedi” teaser trailer and photos that were published in Vanity Fair.

The first potential theatrical poster does not really reveal anything shocking. It shows Snoke, his guards, Kylo Ren, Luke, Rey, General Leia, Finn, Rose (that could be Poe though), R2D2 and Chewbacca, and C3PO and BB-8.

 width=

Now this one below seems like it could be a big deal. We have all the villains present, and front and (almost) center in this poster is Luke Skywalker. The teaser trailer seems to hint that Luke is not the same Luke we knew by him saying, “I only know one truth: It is time for the Jedi to end.” Also the teaser poster shows half of Luke’s face and half of Kylo Ren’s face bathed in the color red. Red signifying The Sith and The Dark Side. In the image below we have Luke, Snoke, Kylo Ren Captain Phasma and Snoke’s guards. And if you were fortunate enough to see the image of Snoke that leaked onto the net before Disney had it pulled down, Snoke does appear to resemble Luke. The sketch below of Snoke is almost spot on when compared to the leaked official image of Snoke.

 width=

Could Snoke be a clone of Luke? Could Luke be working with Snoke? Does Luke know that The Empire may have somehow cloned Luke to use for their own purposes? Some how Luke’s light saber was found on Bespin where he lost it. I’m sure his hand was not far behind and that could be the source that provided his DNA for cloning. And they have cloned a lot of people before in Star Wars. We’ll just have to wait and see on this one. But I’m pretty sure that we wont have to wait for Episode IX for Lucasfilm to reveal all of the good stuff. Like “The Empire Strikes Back”, “The Last Jedi” will shock Star Wars fans with huge revelations. Rumor has it that, “The Last Jedi” may even top Vader revealing that he is Luke’s father. But I doubt that one.

So what do you think? Is Luke going to give Rey and The Resistance more trouble than they were expecting? Should Rey have just left Luke alone on Ach-To? We’ll find out soon enough!

Disney Pulling All Movies From Netflix; Disney Introducing Own Streaming Service in 2019

 width=

During Disney’s latest earnings report, Disney announced that it will pulling all of their movies from Netflix eventually in order to start its own direct to consumer streaming service.

From CNBC:

The company announced during its latest earnings report on Tuesday it intends to pull all its movies from Netflix.

Instead, Disney plans to launch a branded direct-to-consumer streaming service in 2019.

The company will also launch its own ESPN video streaming service in early 2018. The platform, which will feature about 10,000 sporting events each year, will have content from the MLB, NHL, MLS, collegiate sports and tennis’ Grand Slam events.

To power the services, Disney is buying a majority ownership of BAM Tech for $1.58 billion. Disney bought a 33 percent stake in the company, which was spun off from digital media company MLB Advanced Media, in August 2016.

“This represents a big strategic shift for the company,” CEO Bob Iger told CNBC’s Julia Boorstin. “We felt that having control of a platform we’ve been very impressed with after buying 33 percent of it a year ago would give us control of our destiny.”

Netflix stock dropped more than 5 percent upon announcement of the news.

Marvel News Mash-Up: The San Diego Comic Con Edition

The Heroes Assemble To Face Thanos In “Avengers: Infinity War”

Marvel made it’s presence know this year at San Diego Comic Con. And similar to this year’s D23, some trailers and images were made public, and some were not.

The same trailer that was shown at D23 for “Avengers: Infinity War”, was shown to participants at the Infinity War panel resulting in thunderous applause. Unfortunately, this amazing trailer was for participants of the panel only, and we still will have to wait until November before we get our first look at Infinity War. But, do a search on YouTube and you may be luck enough to find a leaked version floating around. Disney has been vigilant taking them down as quickly as they pop up but it hasn’t stopped those who were able to record the first leak to post it under different accounts.

Marvel did release three beautiful hand drawn posters for “Avengers: Infinity War” and when you put the three posters together they form one huge and amazing image.

Our heroes assemble to take on Thanos and The Infinity Gauntlet!
Rocket, Teenage Groot, Thor, Loki, Starlord, Drax, Falcon, a bearded Captain America (Nomad?), Vision, Scarlet Witch and a blonde Black Widow.
Thanos in possession of a fully assembled Infinity Gauntlet with his minions The Black Order consisting of The Black Dwarf, The Ebony Man, Proxima Midnight and Super Giant.
Hulk, Hawkeye, The Winter Soldier, War Machine, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, Mantis, Black Panther, Gamora, Iron Man and Nebula.

“Avengers: Infinity War” opens May 4, 2018.

New Poster Released For “Black Panther”

Marvel debuted a brand new poster for Black Panther where King T’Chala watches over his kingdom of Wakanda.

Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther” follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king—and Black Panther—is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.

“Black Panther” stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, with Angela Bassett, with Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis.

Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther” hits U.S. theaters on February 16, 2018.

First Concept Art Shown For “Captain Marvel”; Samuel L Jackson Joins The Cast

Some information regarding Captain Marvel was announced. One thing that we learned is that the movie will take place in the 90’s, meaning that Captain Marvel existed before most of the characters in the MCU. She may not appear on The Infinity War poster shown in the first article, but Captain Marvel will make her debut in “Avengers: Infinity War:. It was also announced that Samuel L Jackson will portray Nick Fury and have an impact on Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel (Brie Larson). And to make matters even more interesting, Captain Marvel will introduce The Skrulls to the MCU.

From the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes a new chapter featuring heroes with the astonishing ability to shrink: “Ant-Man and The Wasp.”  In the aftermath of “Captain America:  Civil War,” Scott Lang (Rudd) grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a Super Hero and a father.  As he struggles to rebalance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne (Lilly) and Dr. Hank Pym (Douglas) with an urgent new mission. On July 7, “Spider-Man: Homecoming” opened at #1 with an opening weekend box office of $117 million and has earned a worldwide box office of over $633 million to date.

The juggernaut studio ended last year with its newest Super Hero “Doctor Strange,” starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Rachel McAdams. The film opened #1 at the box office on November 4 and went on to gross more than $677 million worldwide to date. “The Incredibles 2” Will Take Place Moments After The End Of The First “Incredibles”

We are getting our first bit of news coming out of the D23 Expo regarding “The Incredibles 2”. IGN exclusively spoke with John Lasseter at D23 and he revealed that “The Incredibles 2” will begin immediately after the events of the first “Incredibles”.

Concept art for “The Incredibles 2” was released earlier this week and it does indeed show very familiar images from the first movie. We see the Underminer’s drill, which appeared at the very end of “The Incredibles”. We also see Frozone, Edna Mode and Jack Jack is still a baby. Now what’s the deal with that racoon?

From IGN:

“It starts right as the first one finishes, so it just carries on,” Lasseter said during an interview at D23 Expo, quipping that only “a minute” will have passed. He added, “It starts with the Underminer and a big old set piece. You know that at the end of the first movie when he comes up and you see the family dressed as superheroes, well that’s where start this movie.”

Brad Bird will again be directing and writing this Incredibles tale, which Lasseter described as “such a special story.”

“One of the unique things about the Incredibles is it’s really a story of a family set in the world of superheroes. This one carries on that theme,” he said. “It’s awesome, the idea we came up with — simple as that. … We love to really look at our own lives and look at what’s going on, and find themes that we know will resonate with the audience.”

Disney & Pixar Animation Studios Reveal Exciting New Information For “Wreck It Ralph 2”, “The Incredibles 2”, “Toy Story 4”, “Coco” And Much More!

THE STARS OF WALT DISNEY AND PIXAR ANIMATION STUDIOS

COME TOGETHER AT D23 EXPO 2017 FOR THE BIGGEST

ANIMATION CELEBRATION OF THE YEAR

John Lasseter Joins Filmmakers and Voice Talent to Share Details and Surprises about Upcoming Film Slate

Filmmakers from Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios convened at D23 Expo 2017 today, revealing new details about their upcoming movie slates and introducing key voice talent, including Benjamin Bratt, Anthony Gonzalez, Josh Gad, Kristen Bell, Holly Hunter, Craig T. Nelson, Sarah Vowell, Samuel L. Jackson, Huck Milner and Sarah Silverman. And in an unforgettable moment, Auli‘i Cravalho, Kristen Bell, Mandy Moore, Kelly MacDonald, Anika Noni Rose, Irene Bedard, Linda Larkin, Paige O’Hara and Jodi Benson came together on stage in a celebration fit for a princess.

John Lasseter, chief creative officer of Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios, teamed up with the stars and filmmakers from both studios to present new details, footage, behind-the-scenes looks and images from a host of upcoming films. “I’m so excited about our upcoming movies; they are all hilarious, emotional, beautiful and make you think,” said Lasseter, who serves as executive producer on all animated titles. “It’s a great mix of incredibly creative and surprising new worlds and characters and stories we love returning to. Our filmmakers are putting so much heart into these films – I can’t wait for people to see them.”

Following, in the order of release, are the films presented on behalf of both studios.

COCO

Guests were treated to the first-ever public performance of “Remember Me” from Pixar Animation Studios’ upcoming feature film “Coco.” Anthony Gonzalez, who provides the voice of Miguel in the film, and Benjamin Bratt, who lends his voice to Ernesto de la Cruz, teamed up to perform the song written by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. Capping the animation presentation, the grand finale featured more than 160 performers who descended upon Hall D23 at the Anaheim Convention Center, including the Grammy-winning Mariachi Divas de Cindy Shea and Ballet Folklorico de Los Angeles under the direction of Kareli Montoya, and the Grammy®-winning Gordon Goodwin Big Phat Band.

“Our film embraces a broad landscape of music,” said director Lee Unkrich. “We were fortunate to have Kristen and Bobby create ‘Remember Me’—it’s the signature song made famous by Ernesto de la Cruz, and it embodies the key theme in our story: the importance of remembering loved ones both in life and beyond.”

Unkrich, co-director and screenwriter Adrian Molina and producer Darla K. Anderson shared details about the original story with the crowd. In theaters Nov. 22, 2017, “Coco” introduces Miguel, an aspiring musician whose family long ago banned music. Desperate to prove his talent and follow in the footsteps of his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz, Miguel makes a fateful decision and finds himself in the Land of the Dead, where he meets his extended family and charming trickster Hector (voice of Gael García Bernal). Together, they set off on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel’s family history.

“Coco” features an original score from Oscar®-winning composer Michael Giacchino (“Up,” “Rogue One”) and additional songs co-written by Germaine Franco (“Dope,” “Shovel Buddies”) and Molina. Also part of the team is musical consultant Camilo Lara of the music project Mexican Institute of Sound.

Fans in attendance all received an exclusive “Coco” poster depicting the film’s iconic skull guitar.

OLAF’S FROZEN ADVENTURE

Kristen Bell, the voice of Anna, introduced fans to the new “Frozen” holiday featurette, “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure.” Josh Gad, the voice of Olaf, surprised the crowd with a live performance of the all-new original song “That Time of Year,” written by Elyssa Samsel and Kate Anderson. The song is part of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ new 21-minute featurette, which hits the big-screen in front of Disney•Pixar’s “Coco” on Nov. 22, 2017.

Joining Bell and Gad in the featurette are Idina Menzel as the voice of Elsa, and Jonathan Groff as the voice of Kristoff.

The featurette is directed by the Emmy®-winning team Kevin Deters and Stevie Wermers-Skelton (“Prep & Landing”) and produced by Oscar® winner Roy Conli (“Big Hero 6”).

INCREDIBLES 2

Lasseter, who’s looked forward to the return of everyone’s favorite family of superheroes since “The Incredibles” was still in production, was excited to share with fans a look at what the fashion world thinks of super-suit stylist Edna Mode—the petite-but-powerful character introduced in Pixar Animation Studio’s 2004 Oscar®-winning feature. Showcasing fashion phenoms from Heidi Klum and Kendall Jenner to Zac Posen and Rachel Zoe, the video can be viewed here.

“Incredibles 2” director Brad Bird—who lends his voice to Edna—joined Lasseter on stage to welcome to the festivities the voices of Mr. and Mrs. Incredible (Craig T. Nelson and Holly Hunter), Violet (Sarah Vowell), Dash (newcomer Huck Milner) and Frozone (Samuel L. Jackson). Bird revealed details of the upcoming caper, which puts the family into an expanded universe that includes new allies and a brand-new villain. “‘Incredibles 2’ is really a family film, it’s just that the family happens to have super powers,” said Bird. “They may have super speed or super strength, but they experience the same problems as any family.”

“Bob’s actually home with the kids this time and I’m the one out fighting crime,” added Hunter.  She joked, “I’ve been working out 13 hours a day!”

“Incredibles 2” hits theaters on June 15, 2018.

RALPH BREAKS THE INTERNET: WRECK-IT RALPH 2

Directors Rich Moore and Phil Johnston hit the stage at D23 Expo 2017, introducing Emmy®-winning actress and comedian Sarah Silverman, who returns as the voice of Vanellope von Schweetz.

Fans were the first to see the global debut of a scene from the film that pays hilarious homage to the Disney Princesses. Lasseter revealed that filmmakers had asked the original voice actresses behind the Princesses featured to reprise their roles for the sequence, and  in a moment no Disney fan will forget, Auli‘i Cravalho (“Moana”), Kristen Bell (Anna in “Frozen”), Kelly MacDonald (Merida in “Brave”), Mandy Moore (Rapunzel in “Tangled”), Anika Noni Rose (Tiana in “The Princess and the Frog”), Irene Bedard (“Pocahontas”), Linda Larkin (Jasmine in “Aladdin”), Paige O’Hara (Belle in “Beauty and the Beast”) and Jodi Benson (Ariel in “The Little Mermaid”) were welcomed on stage for the largest gathering of Disney Princesses in history.

Walt Disney Animation Studios’ follow-up to 2012’s “Wreck-It Ralph” leaves the arcade behind, venturing into the expansive universe of the internet—which may or may not survive Ralph’s not-so-light touch. Outcasts-turned-BFFs Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) and Vanellope von Schweetz are reuniting with Fix-It Felix (voice of Jack McBrayer) and Sergeant Calhoun (voice of Jane Lynch). Filmmakers revealed a new character, Yesss, an algorithm who plays an important role in Ralph and Vanellope’s journey within the internet. Golden Globe®-winning actress Taraji P. Henson (“Empire”) lends her voice to the character. “Yesss is a new character who owns the website Buzzaholic,” said Henson. “Yesss knows about everything cool and on trend. And she does spell her name with a triple ‘s.’ Yesss is very savvy, smart and sexy.”

Produced by Oscar® winner Clark Spencer, “Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2” hits theaters on Nov. 21, 2018.

UNTITLED DISNEYTOON STUDIOS FILM

John Lasseter kicked off the presentation by announcing Disneytoon Studios’ original new animated movie, “Untitled DTS Film.” Directed by Klay Hall and Bobs Gannaway, and produced by Ferrell Barron, the theatrical feature film explores the future of aviation—taking moviegoers to the edge of discovery in the air—and beyond. “Untitled DTS Film” opens in theaters on April 12, 2019.

TOY STORY 4

Lasseter invited Pixar’s Josh Cooley (“Riley’s First Date?” short) to the stage, revealing that Cooley has assumed full director responsibilities for “Toy Story 4.” The pair brought with them a behind-the-scenes look at a day in the director’s life at the Northern California studio. Produced by Jonas Rivera (“Inside Out”), “Toy Story 4” is slated for release on June 21, 2019.

FROZEN 2 (TITLE TBA)

Directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, and produced by Peter Del Vecho, Walt Disney Animation Studios’ feature-length follow-up to 2013’s Oscar®-winning film “Frozen” is slated for theaters on November 27, 2019. Bell, Gad, Menzel and Groff are reprising their roles in an all-new story. Lasseter, Bell and Gad shared with “Frozen” fans a behind-the-scenes video showcasing the filmmakers’ recent research trip to Norway, Finland and Iceland.

UNTITLED DAN SCANLON MOVIE

Director Dan Scanlon, who helmed Pixar’s “Monsters University,” joined Lasseter to share a few details about an all-new original feature film currently in production at Pixar Animation Studios. According to Scanlon, who lost his father at a very young age, the film is inspired by the question he’s always asked: who was my father? The story is set in a world with no humans—only elves, trolls and sprites—“anything that would be on the side of a van in the ’70s,” said the director. “In the film, we’re going to tell the story of two teenage elf brothers whose father died when they were too young to remember him. But thanks to the little magic still left in the world, the boys embark on a quest that will allow them a chance to spend one last magical day with their father.”

Kori Rae (“Monsters University”) will produce.
