First Teaser Poster For “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” Looks Very Menacing; Is Luke A Sith?

During The Last Jedi panel at Star Wars Celebration, the first teaser trailer was released but what may be more interesting and telling is this first teaser poster.

I think it is obvious now that the red font in the “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” logo is intentional. Similar to “The Empire Strikes Back”, this second chapter of the trilogy looks like it will be the darkest entry. In the poster we see Rey holding the lightsaber of the Jedi, but that is the only sign of the Light Side of The Force that we see in this image. Everything else is red, which represents The Dark Side and The Sith. Luke, Kylo Ren, Rey and even the stars in the sky are covered in red. And if you look closely, you will see that the blue light of Rey’s lightsaber eventually turns red. And come on, Luke really looks evil in this poster and in the trailer he says, “It’s time for The Jedi to end”!

I really feel that this chapter of the Star Wars saga will focus on struggle. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that Luke went into hiding to protect others from his powers. Luke may have realized that he was more susceptible to The Dark Side after Kylo Ren and The Knights Of Ren murdered his students. He may have been unable to control his rage from the event and felt the darkness within him was out of his control. From the scenes that we have witnessed in The Force Awakens, Kylo has struggled with with The Dark Side. He may have deep regrets from killing his father and he may be struggling with which side of The Force he should be on. We also dont know Rey’s past. Maybe she was left on Jaku for a reason. Maybe Luke fears that she too could turn to The Dark Side. Like his father and his nephew and maybe even Luke himself.

VIDEO: A Look at the Projection Mapping for Happily Ever After, Magic Kingdom’s New Nighttime Spectacle

Disney recently gave us another inside look at the process of creating Happily Ever After, the new nighttime spectacular coming to Magic Kingdom May 12th. In this video, they talk about how the show will use cutting-edge technology involving the state-of the art projection mapping. Projections are just one of the many methods of storytelling being used, in addition to new hand-drawn animation, an original score and the latest in lasers and pyrotechnics. Here is that video below from the Disney Parks Blog:

Happily Ever After will be debuting May 12th at Magic Kingdom.

VIDEO: Disney Imagineering Shares Behind the Scenes Look at the Making of Star Wars Land at Celebration Orlando

At a panel discussion today at Star Wars Celebration in Orlando entitled Star Wars and Disney Parks: A Galaxy in the Making, creative minds from Lucasfilm and Walt Disney Imagineering discussed their unique partnership and shared additional details about the new galactic lands being created at Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts. Everyone in the room got to experience the excitement and commitment this team is bringing to this project.

Here’s an exclusive look at a video shared at today’s event which gives some insight into this incredible collaboration.

The team shared exciting new details about the story behind this mysterious destination somewhere on the Outer Rim — lying on the edge of the Unknown Regions. The remote village was once a busy crossroads along the old sub-lightspeed trade routes, but the prominence of the outpost has been bypassed with the rise of hyperspace travel. Now home to those who prefer less attention, it has become a thriving port for smugglers, rogue traders and adventurers traveling between the frontier and uncharted space. It’s also a convenient safe-haven for others intent on avoiding the expanding reach of the First Order.

Unusual characters from across the galaxy have landed here, preferring the “no questions asked” environment as well as easy access to exotic supplies and an abundant supply of ready rogues looking to join a crew for their next adventure.

As Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger announced last month, our Star Wars-themed lands are scheduled to open in 2019.
