BREAKING: Movies Anywhere Launches With Disney and Other Studios on Board

The Walt Disney Studios is one of the launch participants in the debut of Movies Anywhere, an unprecedented free app and website that enables consumers to manage and watch their personal digital movie collections across studios, retailers and platforms.

 width=

Movies Anywhere creates an unparalleled digital entertainment experience by bringing together the libraries of five Hollywood studios for access across four digital retailers and several popular in-home entertainment systems and mobile devices.

With The Walt Disney Studios, encompassing Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Lucasfilm, on board alongside Sony Pictures Entertainment, Twentieth Century Fox, Universal Pictures, and Warner Bros. Entertainment, Movies Anywhere offers over 7,300 movies at launch.

By downloading the app and linking their Amazon Video, Google Play, iTunes and/or Vudu accounts, users will see their respective digital retail collections come together in their Movies Anywhere account and sync in their connected digital retail accounts as well. Movies Anywhere is also where consumers can redeem digital copy codes from eligible Blu-rays and DVDs.

The elegance and functionality of the new app is explained by Karin Gilford, General Manager of the Movies Anywhere team: “Movies Anywhere means that consumers never have to remember where they purchased a film or which device they can watch it on, because all of their eligible movies will be centralized within their Movies Anywhere library and available across platforms through the Movies Anywhere app and website and also available at their connected digital retailers.

Movies Anywhere users can watch their collected films across numerous platforms including Amazon Fire devices; Android devices and Android TV; Apple TV; Chromecast; iPhone, iPad and iPod touch; Roku(R) devices and popular browsers, with more platforms and retailers to come.

To celebrate the launch, new users can add up to five free movies*— including Disney’s hit animated film Big Hero 6—to their Movies Anywhere collection by connecting their first two qualifying digital retailer accounts.

And there’s more great news for existing Disney Movies Anywhere users: To start watching your Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Lucasfilm movie collection in Movies Anywhere, simply download the Movies Anywhere app or go to MoviesAnywhere.com and log in with your existing Disney username and password. All of your previously purchased and redeemed titles will be in your Movies Anywhere collection, and you can link your participating digital retailer accounts to add your eligible titles from participating studios as well.

*Users can add up to 5 Free Movies to their Movies Anywhere library when they connect participating digital retailer accounts (iTunes, Amazon Video, Vudu or Google Play). Registration with Movies Anywhere and connection for the first time with one participating digital retailer required to receive Sony’s Ghostbusters(2016) and Twentieth Century Fox’s Ice Age. Connection for the first time with a second participating digital retailer required to receive Disney’s Big Hero 6, Universal’s Jason Bourne and Warner Bros.’ The LEGO Movie. Offers available for a limited time only. Movies subject to change. Void where prohibited. Movies Anywhere is open to U.S. residents age 13+. Artist Bio

Kristin Tercek was born, raised, and continues to live in New Jersey. She began hand sewing plush characters of her own design in 2005 under the name Cuddly Rigor Mortis.  In 2009, she decided to get back to her roots and start painting again. She was self-taught at the age of eleven and now paints full time. Her characters have come to life in the form of cute foods, charming botanicals, and both real and imagined animals. Her love of Disney has been constant and unwavering – the highpoint was being married at the Walt Disney World® Resort. She couldn’t think of anything better than painting Disney characters for others to enjoy.

PHOTO REPORT: Epcot 10/12/17 (Guardians of the Galaxy Coaster Construction, Goodbye Energy, Siemens, Epcot 35, Etc.)

Our latest photo report brings us to Epcot in the days after it’s 35th anniversary, as the early phases of the overhaul of the park get into motion…

Welcome to Epcot

 width=

The Siemens sponsorship of Spaceship Earth has ended, but the signage remains, as does Project Tomorrow, which is pretty much a giant advertisement for the company.

Some new, very bright, white lights are pointed at the Fountain of Nations, illuminating the taller water features. A strange addition considering this will all be bulldozed in the park’s overhaul.

 width=

Feel the Flow, There It Goes…

 width=

Signage was removed pointing guests towards the Universe of Energy. It now points towards what’s left of Innoventions, which is just Colortopia at this point.

 width=

A closed Universe of Energy pavilion behind walls.

This and That

 width=

Signage was already taken down for the Test Track SIMporium so they could paint the wall behind it. This is where you can now make your own Sim Car Card to take home.

 width=

Some new phone cases for sale inside of MouseGear.

 width=

 width=

 width=

A little late, but a Limited Release World Showcase pin has been released at Pin Central to commemorate the 35th anniversary. It retails for $14.99.

 width=

A large line of classic Mickey and Minnie Mouse merchandise has hit all of the parks. I’m usually not a fan of such generic stuff, but the line looks pretty nice.

 width=

 width=

There’s also a new line that evokes colors of the late 80’s/early 90’s that I’m pretty crazy about.

OOGA CHAKA

 width=

Outside of the park, work has commenced on the Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster ride.

 width=

 width=

A series of barricades make sit hard to get too close, and security is patrolling the area to combat “corporate espionage”. Since this is a first-of-its-kind ride system, Disney will be very strict about letting guests see the construction.
