VIDEO: GREAT GLOCKENSPIEL! Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure in Germany

Phineas and Ferb: Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure recently debuted at Epcot replacing the former Kim Possible version of the attraction. The new version is eerily similar at times, but the saving grace has to be the writing for the new scenes. Phineas and Ferb is a show heavy on comedy and the attraction is no different. Each mission really is a mini-episode of the Disney Channel show, following the usual story arc. The second mission I had a chance to try out was Germany. Again, most of the effects were the same, but it felt fresh and exciting with the new characters, story, and comedy bits. Take a look for yourself:

New December/January Release Dates

With the announcements below we confirm there will be WDW Marathon figures this year as well as another Valentine’s Day commemorative. We have yet to see the actual figures, but the marathons are called “mini medals.” So here is a look at the 2013 medals:

The Valentine’s one is anyone’s guess. We also get details about the 2013 series, a Pixar LE combo and the third Fantasia. We have no clue what order the 2013’s will be released in, but Disney released the calendar from which the figures were inspired in park stores. So i’ll find it and take a look this week. I would assume the order of release would correspond to the months they appear on the calendar. Here is a look at the 13 figures as they were on display at Mickey’s Circus.

We will have to wait until January for the 9/3 Crush and Squirt LE combo. It will have an edition size of 1250 and will retail for $64.95.

The third Fantasia combo is a Parks and Online release featuring Hop Lo & Gold Fish. There are 1500 of them and it will retail for $24.95.

Also in the mix is the seventh junior series installment and a new Disney Vacation Club Piece. The junior series is themed to space and was on display at Mickey’s Circus.

We don’t know for sure, but we can assume the DVC figure will be this design that we saw only in concept art on Vinylnation years ago.

Minnie, Daisy, Donald, & Goofy To Greet Guests at Pete’s Silly Sideshow

Walt Disney World announced via the Disney Parks Blog the details of what exactly will be inside Pete’s Silly Sideshow in Storybook Circus, part of New Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom. Back at the D23 Expo, Imagineers told us at the very least it would be a meet and greet for Goofy, but it has now been confirmed that Minnie, Daisy, and Donald will be joining him under the big top at the circus.

Instead of just appearing in their normal apparel, the rest of the Fab 5 will get into the spirit of the Storybook Circus dressed as sideshow acts: The Great Goofini, The Astounding Donaldo (snake charmer), Minnie Magnifique (animal trainer), and Madame Daisy Fortuna (fortuneteller).

No information has been given about the opening date, but we assume that this too will open before the end of 2012. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.

Spotlight On: Custom Vinylmation Artist Mike Vetrone

Destination Vinylmation: Great job Mike! Why did you choose Wishes for the subject of your latest custom?
Mike Vetrone: I have done a couple other “night time spectacular” customs in the past (World of Color and Illuminations). A customer approached me and asked me to do one for wishes. I loved this fireworks show when I went to see it too.

DV: Tink looks great! Do you enjoy paining characters or scenery more and why?
MV: Thank you! That’s a tough question. Characters are a ton of fun to paint, but my favorite thing to do is painting them into a scene.

DV: Any characters you enjoy paining more than others?
MV: Tink was a challenge for me. I don’t really know why. I would have to say villains are my favorite to paint.

DV: Was there any challenge in finding the perfect way to paint the fireworks?
MV: The fireworks were a  ton of fun to paint. I have tried several ways now to paint  fireworks and I feel this has been the most effective way.

Extreme Wrestlers of Vinylmation

The release date for a new series appeared on the Vinylmation Events page. It is called Extreme Wrestlers of Vinylmation and will be released at Disney Stores on October 29th. We have no previous knowledge of this series, but from the listing know it is a 3-inch mystery Limited Release series for $9.95 each. Will these be Disney Characters as wrestlers or just an urban like design?

Does anyone else think of these old M.U.S.C.L.E. figures when you read this story? We have seen a couple other wrestler figures in Vinylmation’s history…

Remember the Rudos from Urban 8? We also had El Super Raton back in Urban 1…

Take a Video Trip to Star Wars Weekends 2012

If you’re a Star Wars fan who won’t be getting out to Star Wars Weekends at Disney’s Hollywood Studios this year, you’ll be very happy about what we have to share. Our friend Jeff Lange over at JeffLangeDVD.com and MouseSteps.com (both awesome sites you should check out all the time) captured some highlights of the first day of Star Wars Weekends 2012 for your enjoyment:

Here’s a very funny skit featuring some Stormtroopers that is performed while guests are waiting for Stars of the Saga

Some children were dressed up as Snig and Oopla (characters from various Star Wars Weekends activities)

Star Wars Weekends Celebrity Welcome with James Arnold Taylor, Ashley Eckstein, and Ray Park

And last, but certainly not least, this year’s Hyperspace Hoopla:
