As a father of twin boys, the Disney Junior – Live on Stage! show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney California Adventure park is a favorite stop whenever we visit those parks. One of the best things about the show is that it’s regularly updated to feature new characters and stories from the Disney Junior line-up on TV. Well, I’m excited to tell you (and them), that Disney Junior – Live on Stage! is primed to get another update in early 2013, when new hits “Doc McStuffins” and “Sofia the First” join “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” and “Jake and the Never Land Pirates.” The new version of Disney Junior – Live on Stage! debuts at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in mid-February and comes to Disney California Adventure about a month later, in March 2013. And be sure to catch the premiere of the “Sofia the First” TV series Friday, Jan. 11 on Disney Channel and Disney Junior.

You wouldn’t think I’d be describing a magical place in sunny Southern California, but that’s the power of Disney magic! Our talented teams transform the Disneyland Resort into a winter wonderland during the holidays. This video captures highlights of the holiday décor at night. I am excited to let you know the Happiest Race on Earth just got happier! Today runDisney announced the 2013 Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend is expanding with the addition of the Disneyland 10K at Disneyland Resortin Anaheim, Cal.
The new 10K will be a timed event and take runners through Disneyland park, Disney California Adventure park and on the streets of Anaheim. As with all runDisney races, participants will receive a newly designed finishers medal.
Runners looking for a bigger challenge can register for the Dumbo Double Dare. A limited number of runners will have the opportunity to take the dare and run the Disneyland 10K on Saturday and the Disneyland Half Marathon on Sunday – 19.3 miles total. Finishers will receive a special finisher medal to help celebrate their accomplishments, in addition to the half marathon and 10K medals.
The 10K is one of the most popular race distances for runners, next to the 5K and half marathon. With race weekends featuring kids races, 5K, 10K, 10-Miler, half marathons and a marathon, runDisney offers runners at every level a chance to experience a runDisney event, run through Disney theme parks and earn coveted Disney medals.
Registration for all Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend races opens on January 22, 2013. Last year, the popular half marathon sold out in little more than a month, so I encourage interested runners to act quickly. Before we head into the Christmas holiday week, I wanted to share a quick update on “Limited Time Magic” atDisney Parks. Earlier this year, we announced plans for a year of unexpected experiences with an extra sprinkle of Pixie Dust at Disneyland Resort and the Walt Disney World Resort. And beginning next Friday, we’ll be sharing updates here on the Disney Parks Blog.
“Limited Time Magic” will run through the calendar year of 2013 and the program will feature a variety of surprises – most lasting just one week, some longer and disappearing after just one day. You’ll be able to find out what’s happening during the year by checking the Disney Parks Blog on Fridays. We’ll also be posting updates on Twitter using hashtag #LimitedTimeMagic as well as on the LimitedTimeMagic.com web page. Tim went to the Disneyland Resort on Christmas Day and was able to capture some magic!
I was at the Disneyland Resort on Christmas day and took a few photographs of the hustle and bustle on one of the busiest days of the year.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is set to close on January 7th for a major refurbishment. Red Car Newsboys entertaining Christmas guests over at Disney California Adventure as are the cast of Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular.
Sleeping Beauty Castle is arguably the most spectacular this time of year, only to be complimented with Believe…in Holiday Magic Fireworks Spectacular and snow on Main Street USA.

There’s nothing like ringing in the New Year at Disney Parks, but if you can’t join us, we’re keeping the excitement going to begin January with some special “Limited Time Magic” at the Walt Disney World Resort andDisneyland Resort.
We’re also excited to announce that 2013 will be the “Year of the Ear” at Disney Parks. Every month, Disney Parks will release new ear hats to add to your collection as part of “Limited Time Magic.” January will start with the limited release of Disney Couture Ear Hats. And each month, there will be fun designs to discover.
And we’re not done yet. We’ll have more “Limited Time Magic” information to share today on the Disney Parks Blog, including an exciting announcement to kick off the New Year at the Disneyland Resort. Earlier today, Disney announced as part of their Limited Time Magic Promotion, they will be releasing special new mouse ears and head ware every month at Both The Disneyland Resort and The Walt Disney World Resort.
Some ears will be exclusive to respective parks.
