Predicting The Future With a Doctor, No… A Prince!

Our sister site, WDW News Today, has an interesting rumor on how 2 films released this summer could involve 2 attractions across the country (although only 1 of them applies for Disneyland):

The next two weeks of business at your local box office may be determining the future of your favorite Disney Parks and your future vacations. Disney management will be closely watching the performance of two summer blockbusters over the next two weeks, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian and Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

For the Narnia series, everything is riding on this weekend and the latest film’s success. If the film doesn’t perform as well as the Walt Disney Company is hoping, we may have seen the last or next-to-last Narnia film. Whether or not that takes place, a decision will be made soon on the now-in-developement Narnia 3-D attraction being planned for Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s California Adventure. If the film shows strong results, then expect the new Narnia 3-D show to debut at both parks around Summer 2010.

MiceAge Picture Update

Let’s take a look at some various things going on through-out the Disneyland Resort from this week’s Dateline Disneyland, plus a special Friday edition of Monday in Parks on MiceAge:

The new railings for the Sunshine Plaza Fountain have been installed

A new sign has been installed at the Tomorrowland Monorail Station

A look at the drivers seat for the Mark VII Monorail

The exit waterfall rock work at the Subs is almost finished

Also, the green water hoses feeding the entry waterfall have been half-camouflaged with a covering that is similar to the cavern rock work

Mr. Potato Head Goes to Disney Parks

I advise y’all to check out the latest Official Disneyland Resort Vidcast. This latest vidcast takes a look at the new Mr. Potato Head audio-animatronic in Toy Story Midway Mania:

In this video podcast we “peel” back the curtain and watch Walt Disney Imagineers “whip up” a 5-foot version of the popular childhood toy, “Mr. Potato Head.” The famous spud will welcome guests into the new attraction, “Toy Story Mania!,” set to open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort in May, and at Disney’s California Adventure at the Disneyland Resort in June.

You can find this, & many other episodes of the Official DLR Podcast here!

DLR Picture Update

Post edited with the rest of the pictures

I’m back from another lovely day at the Disneyland Resort, & I of course have a picture update for y’all. So let’s get straight to it:

Today was Mothers Day, & complimentary flowers were given out to mothers

The latest Disneyland Park map

The banners that were added to Sleeping Beauty’s Castle a couple of weeks ago have been removed for some reason

Random people got given a free Year of a Million Dreams pin… I got one obviously!

Space Mountain desperately needs a clean or paint job

A copy of the Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters mural behind the Segway Experience in Innoventions

The new Future Choice Stations inside Project Tomorrow in Innoventions, which are basically the new ending to Epcot’s Spaceship Earth

My Future Choice!

A treehouse (maybe) for the new Innoventions Dream Home

I tried out the relatively new game Power City for the first time

The new Air Scooter II display

A look at construction for It’s a Small World

The facade is now completely under tarps

The It’s a Small World Toy Shop is also closed

Work is still being done to the Sunshine Plaza Fountain

Let’s take a look at the newly opened Midway Mercantile!

Could this be the TSMM attraction poster?

The exit to Toy Story Midway Mania (it’s roped off, obviously)

Some well needed shade for DCA

The new food stand, Don Tomas, is open…

… This is its very limited menu

Let’s take a look around the mini Disney Gallery at the exit to Disneyland: The First 50 Magical Years

Not a lot of water dropping, is there?

And now a look at the new Prince Caspian Pre-Parade to Walt Disney’s Parade of Dreams

We’ll have more photos of Walt Disney’s Parade of Dreams up in the Disneyland Park Gallery later tonight

Ever since the Bug’s Life float in the Pixar Play Parade came back, the floats have been in a different order: The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Finding Nemo, A Bug’s Life, Toy Story

This is pretty much all of the main Bug’s Life float at the moment

To cap this DLR Picture Update off, me & Ariel at Ariel’s Grotto, which will be closing soon to make way for the new Disney Fairies meet ‘n greet

That’s it for this DLR Picture Update. We will of course have bigger versions of all of today’s pictures, plus many additional ones up later tonight in the Image Galleries. We will of course let you know when they’re up!

Summer of Hidden Midways

The picture bellow, taken by the website Original D, of the latest Disneyland Resort maps, shows off 2 interesting things:

First off, more confirmation of the Indiana Jones Summer of Hidden Mysteries, which will begin on May 22nd. And secondly, this is the first time that the new Toy Story Midway Mania attraction has had the Midway part of the name including in anything promotional. That makes me happy!

Mr. Grier… Thank You For Tearing the Walls Down!

It seems the rumors were true… The walls for the new food stand & store for Toy Story Midway Mania did in fact come down today! Our friend MintCrocodile has a few excellent pictures up on his SmugMug page:

The store, Midway Mercantile, is now open!

A look inside the store… It looks like they have some good merchandise

The little sign pointing towards the exit is obviously the exit to Toy Story Midway Mania

Also, the area opposite the attraction has been “uncovered”

The new food stand, Don Tomas, is also now open for business!

Just shade for the moment… Maybe something else will come here?

Thanks again to MintCrocodile for these pictures. You can few even more from the uncovered areas by clicking here!

Mr. Grier… Tear Down This Wall!

We’re hearing that the Toy Story Midway Mania walls will be coming down tomorrow. The store & turkey leg stand will be open, & the ride… I’m not sure at the moment. But we’ll be sure to keep you updated!

Sailing Ship Madness!

2 new refurbishments have been added to the Attraction Refurbishments list. Mulholland Madness will be closed for one day on May 7th. And the Sailing Ship Columbia will be closed from May 12th to the 15th, & then from May 19th to the 21st. That also means that Fantasmic wont be performed on those days.
