Dateline Disneyland Picture Update

Let’s take a look at some various things going on through-out the Disneyland Resort from this week’s Dateline Disneyland on MiceAge:

The Harbor Blvd. entrance to the resort is closed due to electrical work for the DCA & Grand Californian expansions

The Pixar Play Parade sign at the Mickey & Friends Tram Station is getting some work done

A copy of the Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters mural has been added to the Segway Experience in Innoventions. Talk about originality!

Here’s a better look at the new Build Your Own Lightsaber stand inside Star Traders

The exit waterfall at the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage is getting some extensive work done

The hot dog/turkey leg stand opposite Toy Story Midway Mania is to be known as Don Tomas

DisneyGeek DLR Update

Let’s take a look at some various things going on through-out the Disneyland Resort from the latest Disneyland Resort Update on DisneyGeek:

A new banner up at the Mickey & Friends Parking Structure

One of the counters & some seating at the Bengal Barbecue are behind walls

Apparently this is new wood for the Pacific Wharf Bridge

One of the shop windows in Downtown Disney now displays Disney’s Fairytale Weddings

It’s Tough to be a Bug is closed until May 23rd

And Corn Dog Castle is closed until May 22nd

Finally, it seems the Carnation Cafe restrooms are getting some work done

DisneyGeek DLR Update

Our good friends over at DisneyGeek have put up another Disneyland Resort Update. Let’s take a look at some of the latest happenings through-out the Resort:

Construction on the new bakery facility for the Disneyland Resort restaurants, near the Mickey & Friends Parking Structure.

Now this list of unavailable attractions seems more right than what I saw on Tuesday. Notice how the Hyperion Theater isn’t listed.

These walls are most likely up to install the giant Mickey pumpkin for Halloween.

Fastpass is currently unavailable for Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters.

The longest line seen at the park for the Princess meet ‘n greet at the Princess Fantasy Faire. This was true for both DisneyGeek’s day at the park, as well as mine last Tuesday.

Sign at the Toontown Train Depot notifying guests that the New Orleans Square Train Station is closed.

When you pass the New Orleans Square Train Station, a wooden wall is right up against you.

Even though the new Wishing Star Crystals store has opened, the Three Fairies Magic Crystals store sign is still up.

All references to McDonalds have apparently been removed from Harbour Galley.

They’re fixing up one of the French Market signs.

The Disneyland Dream Suite was blocked off for some reason.

This photo store was closed for some reason.

The Year of a Million Dreams cups are no longer being used. Now it looks like they’re using plain, boring Coca Cola cups.

Finally, a cool display of different Mr. Potato Head figures in Midway Mercantile.

DisneyGeek DLR Update

Let’s take a look at the latest happenings from through-out the Disneyland Resort from the latest DLR Update on DisneyGeek:

Apparently a tram damaged this sign a little

This new feature in Project Tomorrow is basically the new finale to Epcot’s Spaceship Earth. Your picture is taken, embedded into the animated scene, & then you can send that scene to your email (much like in Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters)

A temporary stage has been put up in Paradise Pier for some event (anyone know what it is?)

The never used extended queue for MuppetVision 3D is being converted in to seating for Award Wieners

The Snow White exhibit has been removed. It’s much nicer now, isn’t it?

Plaza Pavilion behind tarps

Now let’s take a look at the Indiana Jones Summer of Hidden Mysteries!

Here’s the pointless photo spot

The new, awesome, Secret of the Stone Tiger show in the Oasis

The theater for the show itself looks awesome (first time I’d been in the Oasis)

After the show, Indy battles a bad guy through-out Adventureland

Moving outside of Disneyland for a brief moment… The Anaheim GardenWalk is now somewhat open. Once it’s fully open, we’ll bring you coverage of this new mall that could affect the future of the Disneyland Resort!

Now going back over to Toy Story Midway Mania… Take a look at the difference in theming here! TSMM’s amazing theming makes Paradise Pier look even worse now!

Here’s a few more of the posters from in the TSMM queue

My score on my second ride (85,900 in case it’s too blurry to see)

I loved this shirt so much, that I bought it!

A couple of the posters from the queue are available for $35 each

This poster is behind the cash register in Midway Mercantile

The walls are down from the Grizzly River Run waterwheel, but the tarps are still up

Here’s another look at the new seating for Award Wieners

Apparently they were filming parts of the Pixar Play Parade

Later in the day (Wednesday) they were filming Mr. Potato Head

Midway Mania sure does look beautiful at night!

Moving on to my last day… When I entered Mickey & Friends, I was given an Adventure Roadmap!

The Roadmap gives you 8 extremely easy questions

For some reason, they’ve been sold out on the Mickey Mouse Pretzels for quite a while now

Bust Baby!

That’s going to do it for this DLR Pictorial. Stay tuned to the Image Galleries for more & bigger versions of these pictures (some are already up)!

Play Midway Mania at Home!

If you head on over to the official Toy Story Mania website, you’ll now find four games you can play that are very similar to the games in the real Toy Story Midway Mania. While the four games feature different themes from the games in the attractions, they feature secret targets and ammunition multipliers, giving hints to the existence of similar targets in the ride-through version. You can also create your own midway game by using the game creator on the site. Now what are you waiting for, go play!!!

Dateline Disneyland Picture Update

Let’s take a look at some of the various things going on through-out the Disneyland Resort from this week’s Dateline Disneyland on MiceAge:

This sign for Disneyland’s 53rd Anniversary was up just before the tunnels yesterday

Signs were also up at the Main Street Train Station

At 4:45pm, there was a small ceremony with the Mayor of Main Street & the Fab Five (the Dateline Disneyland article, linked at the beginning of the post, has plenty of pictures from this ceremony)

Cast members wore this anniversary button

The It’s a Small World Toy Shop has come out from behind tarps with a fresh coat of paint, but is still closed to guests

The metal portion of the Tomorrowland marque got repainted a lighter tan & dark brown scheme

The back of this globe used to be blue

The Indiana Jones Summer of Hidden Mysteries photo-op now has a sign, just in case people aren’t aware that the boulder is to take photos with

This lovely painting by Manny Hernandez was released yesterday to commemorate Disneyland’s 53rd Anniversary (more info on this painting can be found at DisneyGallery.com)

To cap this Dateline Disneyland update off, Andy (the writer of Dateline Disneyland) managed to get some concept art for the new Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough:

Southern California is currently experiencing a relatively major Earthquake, 5.8 on the richter scale. According to the Eyewitness News program on abc7, Disneyland have taken a precautionary measure, & have evacuated all rides, as well as the hotels. I presume the stores & restaurants also have been evacuated. All guests are waiting around outside at the current moment.

abc7’s website has the following:

A magnitude 5.8 earthquake hit late Tuesday morning two miles southwest of Chino Hills in San Bernardino County.

The jolt was felt from Los Angeles to San Diego, and slightly in Las Vegas. It caused buildings to sway and triggered some precautionary evacuations. Ten aftershocks occurred in the next dozen minutes, including three estimated at 3.8.

No damage or injuries have been reported as a result of the earthquake.

The quake struck at 11:42 a.m. PDT. Buildings swayed in downtown Los Angeles and San Diego for several seconds.

Stay tuned to Disneyland News Today to find out when the rides will be re-opened, & various other updates we get on this Earthquake & it’s effects on Disneyland.
