These tumblers retail for $21.99 each. The cup features icons of the park, including:

  • Soarin’
  • World of Color

My personal favorite is the Pirates of the Caribbean collection.

The Haunted Mansion set is pretty cool though…

Can I just buy the turtle from the Snow White set?

Unlike many other Disney collectibles of a fragile nature, these mini-tea sets come in boxes with plastic windows so you can see what is inside.

I’m not sure why anyone would need a miniature tea set, but these are pretty neat. Will you be purchasing any?

REVIEW: Clarabelle’s Unleashes Bat Wing Sundae and Spider Silk Sandwich for HalloweenTime

Clarabelle’s Hand-Scooped Ice Cream on Buena Vista Street at Disney California Adventure has some wonderful HalloweenTime specials available right now through October 31st, 2017, so let’s check them out before they fly away!

 width=

Bat Wing Raspberry Sundae ($7.49)

 width=

“White chocolate, raspberry swirl ice cream with raspberry splatter, blood red sprinkles, whipped cream, and bat wing cookie”

This is just about the best sundae I’ve ever had at a Disney theme park, in both taste and value. This thing is huge and two of us had a really hard time finishing it, but it was so good that we felt compelled to do so.

 width=

First off, the dark chocolate bat cookie is even better than the ubiquitous “vanilla” Mickey Bat Cookie sold around the Disneyland Resort at this time of year, and it complimented the raspberry flavors in the sundae very well. The white chocolate raspberry swirl ice cream should be offered all year long, because it is absolutely fantastic. Any item in this would be good on its own, but I applaud the culinary team for choosing the pieces they put together here, not only making the sundae look great for the season, but also offering a unique flavor that you can’t get at any other time.

You can get this sundae with any flavors that you choose, but I’m not sure why you wouldn’t just get it as intended, as seen above.

Spider Silk Ice Cream Sandwich ($6.49)

 width=

“Black macaron with charcoal-tart cherry spun ice cream topped with popping candy and drops of raspberry sauce.”

While it may not have been the most appetizing thing to look at, this one gets a lot of points for originality. Charcoal-Tart Cherry is another ice cream type that you can’t get at any other time of year, and I would most equate it to a muted cherry flavor. The popping candy is a fun addition and the raspberry sauce is a nice touch, but if you have to choose one item, go for the Bat Wing Sundae above.

Patent Hints at Possible Spider-Man Web Swinging Attraction for Disney Parks Around the World

Disney has filed a patent for a new ride technology that suggests a swinging Spider-Man attraction may be in the works.

The patent is called “Track-based Swing Ride with Long Arm Pendulum” and the description makes it easy to believe that Disney has plans to create a Spider-Man attraction using this new ride system:

One goal in designing the ride system was to deliver an experience similar to what it would feel like to be with Tarzan or a similar character swinging between trees of a jungle on a vine or with Spider-Man or a similar character swinging on webs between buildings as you move down streets of a city. [The ride is] intended to have swinging sensation provided while also having forward travel along a ride path in a direction of travel and for the swinging sensation to feel thrilling and fun.

Another interesting aspect of the patent is that it seems the ride would be able to control the motion and speed of the swing, making it more realistic. Hypothetically, the swing could slow at the top of a roll to simulate the pause before swinging.

The ride system has a four-person bench with shoulder harnesses.

 width=

 width=

The ride would include a variety of small and large swings as it moves along the track, as you can see below.

 width=

Not only does this ride system seem ideal for a Spider-Man attraction, but Disney mentions it in the above patent. It also mentions a Tarzan swinging attraction, although it would be hard to imagine Disney is working on a Tarzan attraction at the moment.

If Disney is planning on using this patent to create a Spider-Man ride, it would be safe to assume it’s going in Disney California Adventure at Disneyland Resort, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Walt Disney Studios Paris, where we know Disney is planing on expanded the presence of Marvel-based attractions. Disney confirmed that a Spider-Man attractions of some kind will be built in DCA.

REVIEW: Cafe Orleans at Disneyland Drastically Revamps Menu

A Disneyland tradition for us, we just had to make a reservation to dine at Cafe Orleans in New Orleans Square while we’re in Anaheim covering all of the HalloweenTime festivities. While we expected one new seasonal item for the celebration, we were instead greeted by drastically different menu…

 width=

For those unfamiliar, here is the previous menu:

 width=

Luckily, the beloved gumbo is still the seasonal soup, but our server said it will be changing. Also, the Monte Cristo has remained, which is important since Blue Bayou no longer serves it.

Bourbon Street Chicken ($20)

 width=

The Bourbon Street Chicken was an excellent boneless chicken breast, seasoned brilliantly, with well prepared rice and the most amazing brussel sprouts. This was one of the best entrees I’ve ever had anywhere at the Disneyland Resort.

Steak and Potatoes ($22.00)

 width=

The steak and potatoes were pretty good as well, accompanied by fantastic mashed potatoes, and once again, those amazing brussel sprouts. It wasn’t the best steak, but it was one of the better under $25 steaks I’ve had in a theme park.

Overall

Overall, I think a lot of guests will be upset with the changes here, but both of the new items we had were fantastic. Besides that, my usual favorites (the pommes frites and the Monte Cristo) are still here so I have zero problem with the major alterations. If anything, I now have a much tougher entree choice than I had before.

Pumpkin Churros Drive Into Cars Land for Haul-O-Ween at Disney California Adventure

Disneylanders love their churros, and now there’s a new flavor of churro to love for a limited time at the Cozy Cone Motel in Cars Land.

 width=

The pumpkin churro is available for a limited time during the Haul-O-Ween celebration now through October 31st at the park. Available at Cone 1, the treat didn’t even have a real sign yet when we first discovered it. It is priced at $4.50.

 width=

How is it? Well, I’m not the biggest fan of pumpkin flavored snacks nor churros, so I was surprised and delighted when I enjoyed this one. The pumpkin flavor wasn’t overpowering and the churros tasted like it was fresh out of the oven.

 width=

The bad news is that this line can get quite long, but Cone 1 does open a little earlier than some of the others for the early morning breakfast hours. My tip would be to get their early and get this for a sweet breakfast treat.

REVIEW: Halloween Marshmallow Cronut, Mummy Macaron, & Candy Apple Smoothie at Schmoozies

Schmoozies, located in Hollywood Land at Disney California Adventure, is offering three specialty items for Halloween Time now through October 31st.

 width=

 width=

MonsterMallow Doughnut ($5.49)

 width=

A croissant doughnut with marshmallow filling, this is large enough for a small family to share. I absolutely loved the marshamallow filling and the “cronut” was soft, flaky, and delicious.

 width=

Mummy Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich ($6.49)

 width=

This item is a almond macaron with dark chocolate, drizzled with white chocolate and filled with rainbow sherbet. This is an absolute must-order as the flavors all compliment each other perfectly. While rainbow sherbet doesn’t seem very Halloween-themed, it was the prefect companion to the almond and white chocolate pastry. Be sure to grab lots of napkins, because this thing can be a bit messy.

Caramel Apple Smoothie ($5.99)

 width=

It is what it is titled, a smoothie flavored like a caramel apple. While light on the caramel, it has a really pleasant apple flavor with just a hint of the caramel flavoring.

Overall, all 3 of these are worth ordering, so make sure that you stop by Schmoozies at Disney California Adventure during HalloweenTime!

Vampire Mater Bread Takes Wing for Cars Land Haul-O-Ween at Disneyland Resort

Move over Groot bread, there’s a new specialty bread treat at Disney California Adventure and it’s Vampire Mater!

 width=

Made especially for the Cars Land Haul-O-Ween celebration going on through October 31st, the cheesy-sourdough bread is available for $8.49 at Fillmore’s Taste-In. Quantities every day are limited, so be sure to head over early!

Most importantly (in this day and age), it takes a great picture for social media, since that matters.

 width=

Don’t let my long fingers fool you, it’s quite large, and if I didn’t hold it that way, the wings would fall off due to their weight.

If you’ve had any of the other sourdough bread items at the park, you know how good they are, and this one is no exception. So don’t hesitate, fly on over to DCA and get some Vampire Mater bread!
