I have returned from five wonderful days at the Walt Disney World Resort and I have a plethora of newsworthy photos to share with you from my trip:

This year’s holiday display at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is themed to “it’s a small world”

According to the OC Register’s Around Disney blog:
The sign says “They’re Not Shoes, They’re Sandals.” No matter what you call them, footwear will be for sale at a new store coming to Downtown Disney.
Sanuk, an Irvine-based footwear company, is scheduled to open a temporary location on Friday, said Suzi Brown, a Disneyland Resort spokeswoman. The casual store is scheduled to close in mid January.
Sanuk makes mostly flip-flops, canvas slip-on shoes and boots. It also makes something called “Tube Flops” — a combination of a flip-flop and an open-toed, knee-high socks.
The store will sit between LittleMissMatched and Ridemakerz. After it closes, Ridemakerz plans to close temporarily, expand and take over the space.
According to the company’s Web site, there are no Orange County dealers listed on the company’s Web site.
The company was founded in 1997 by Southern California native Jeff Kelley and was honored with the SIMA 2007 Footwear Product of the Year. The products are sold in more than 50 countries and are worn by singer Donovan Frankenreiter and rock-climber Chris Sharma, according to the Web site.
Sanuk is the Thai word for fun.
In an odd turn of events, a new store will be opening in Downtown Disney in the former home of Illuminations, called D-Street. This store’s idea stems from Disney Vault 28 and Tren-D at Walt Disney World’s Downtown Disney, selling trendy merchandise like those two stores, but spreading to men’s apparel as well as Vinylmation.
There’s not yet a scheduled opening date, but we presume it will be sometime in the New Year. Stay tuned to Disneyland News Today for the latest.
It’s once again time for a photo report from our very own Myrna Litt:

Hey everyone, Luke Manning here. I visited the Disneyland Resort yesterday on what easily was the busiest day I have ever seen at the parks. But anyway, let’s get to my photo report:

The line at the Downtown Disney Monorail station was 3 switch-backs long, which meant a wait of over half an hour. Only Monorail Blue was running
Here you can see work on the permanent home for LittleMissMatched, which will be right next to its current home

All guests, even Annual Passholders, were required to get their hand stamped

Some of the merchandise from the recent SHAG Haunted Mansion 40th anniversary event is still available in the Disneyana Store

According to the OC Register’s Around Disney blog:
Kitson Kids, a store brand that caters to celebrities, opened its first Orange County store at Downtown Disney over the weekend.
The store is the child-product version of Kitson, where starlets are often spotted shopping in Los Angeles. The Downtown Disney store isn’t shy about touting the celebrity appeal by hanging photos of its frequent shoppers toting Kitson bags — Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, Ashley Tisdale and others. The Web site even says “home of celebrity shopping.”
Kitson Kids took over the former Starbilla store, which sold autographed pictures and other celebrity collectibles before it closed down.
The store, which opened Saturday, carries an array of children’s stuff from puzzles and finger puppets to trendy T-shirts and Snow White-style dresses.
I looked around to see if there was anything affordable for my 1-year-old son. Some of the items were in the acceptable range, including a board book for $9.95 and a Little Uglys doll for $11.95. Some practical baby sunblock was available for tourists. But there were some outrageous items, especially the Size 2 True Religion jeans for $150. That’s Size 2 as in toddler, not adult.
