While it may not be happening at Walt Disney World, WDWNT will be heading out to California to cover all the festivities at the Disneyland Resort over the next week. From the grand opening of Cars Land and Buena Vista Street, to the premiere of new entertainment such as the Voices of Liberty, Streetmosphere, and more, the WDWNT Network will bring you closer to the excitement than anyone else. We’ve even set up a special live coverage site at www.DisneylandNewsToday.com/DCALive to make it easier and faster to connect with everything going on. The page brings together the in-depth coverage that will be found on Disneyland News Today’s website, the up-to-the-minute tweeting from @DLNT, and even live video streaming which we will be offering from a few select events during the week.
Coverage begins tomorrow at the official media festivities for Cars Land. Even once the media events wrap-up on the 15th, we will continue our coverage of what’s happening at the Disneyland Resort through June 20th. We hope you will join us as The Happiest Place on Earth Gets Even Happier!
Earlier today during the Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade, the very first ad for “One More Disney Day” aired and the hosts were sure to mention that the Disney Parks will announce something they have never done before on December 31st during Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Year’s Eve. Shortly after the parade was over, Disney Parks tweeted the following:
Watch Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve Dec. 31 for a special announcement by @DisneyParks http://t.co/mfAnnf7J #Disney24
The hashtag “Disney 24” just about confirms our report that there will be 24 hours of Disney Parks to enjoy on Leap Day 2012, February 29th. Disney also posted the teaser video on youtube, so I figured I would share it just in case you haven’t seen it:
So, it will be official in about a week… who’s going?
Disney Animation’s 51st feature film, Winnie-the-Pooh, finally hit theaters in the United States today. In an age dominated by computer animation, Pooh is a nostalgic trip back to the hand-drawn style. The animation looks like a classic Pooh film converted to high definition for the modern age. If you liked any of the antics of the Hundred Acre Wood gang in the past, then you’ll absolutely adore the latest chapter. I won’t get into too much of a review, but if you are a fan of Winnie the Pooh or just the art of animation, it’s a must see. With that being said, we continue the WDWNT tradition with a look at the film, in case you missed any of the hype leading up to the release:

WDWCELEBRATIONS ANNOUNCES SCHEDULE FOR “PROJECT XL: THE WORLD AT 40”; REGISTRATION NOW OPEN
Fan-Led Celebration Offers Unique Events to Highlight
the 40th Anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort
WDWCelebrations is pleased to announce the release of the tentative schedule for Project XL: The World at 40, the organization’s seventh event since its inception in 2007. This Commemorative Event, scheduled for September 29 – October 2, 2011 is a fan-initiated, resort-wide celebration to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort and its many facets. Working to create a truly unique fan experience, WDWCelebrations organizers have included group rides, gatherings for meals, two interactive competitions for coveted prizes, as well as the potential for some unique surprises during the event. Even the name of the event was the result of a fan contest! To see the tentative schedule for the largest WDWCelebrations event to date, visit http://wdwcelebrations.com/project-xl.html.
Registration for Project XL: The World at 40 is now open. The nominal registration fee is $8 for adults and $3 for children, but until June 15, the fee is discounted to $6 for adults and $2 for children. As part of our Charity Initiative, a portion of the registration fee for each person (both adults and children) will be earmarked for our donation presentation, with all charitable proceeds from the event to benefit Give Kids the World. To register, please visit http://registration.wdwcelebrations.com/.
Core Team Member Marcus D’Amelio notes that “with such a significant anniversary comes a larger territory to cover—and WDWCelebrations hasn’t downsized any aspect of this Commemorative Event for our guests. We’ve supersized our guests’ favorite activities and stepped up the games to bring Project XL to another level. We’ve got big things in the works, so this will definitely be one WDWCelebrations event you won’t want to miss!”
Project XL: The World at 40 is the latest Commemorative Event from WDWCelebrations LLC, a fan-based not-for-profit organization co-founded by Jason Diffendal and Adam Roth following the response of the hugely successful event, Celebration 25, which welcomed over twelve hundred guests in celebration of the 25th anniversary of EPCOT Center at the Walt Disney World Resort. Since Celebration 25, WDWCelebrations LLC has hosted five other events: A Wild Decade, World Wide Weekend, Studio 20, Fifty-Five, and Holiday Hoopla.
