“Avengers: Age Of Ultron” Official Movie Poster

Here is the first official movie poster for “Avengers: Age Of Ultron” with all of the cast front and center.

If you have a magnifying glass, this poster also confirms that Anthony Mackie is reprising his role as The Falcon from “Captain America: Winter Soldier.” Both Thor alumni Idris Elba (Heimdall) and Stellan Skarsgård (Dr. Erik Selvig) are also returning from proof of their cast names appearing on the poster. I tried my best to zoom in on it and highlight it below.

Definitely glad to see that Captain America, the leader of the team, is highlighted in this poster as opposed to the original “Avengers” poster where he was way in the background and they basically made Robert Downey Jr. the focus:

Funny thing is that after this official poster was released, Marvel released another poster with Robert Downey Jr. as the focus, just in case:

Robert Downey Jr. Shares His “Iron Man” Character Poster From “Avengers: Age Of Ultron” And Also Hints Of Some Big News Coming Next Week

Robert Downey Jr recently revealed through his Twitter account the official character poster for Iron Man from “Avengers: Age Of Ultron.” I am sure this will be the first of many character posters that will eventually make its way into movie theater lobbies.

What is even more exciting is that he teased us that there will be a big announcement next week.

Of course I couldn’t help but speculate as to what it could be:

Marvel will officially announce that “Spider-Man” will be in “Captain America: Civil War” This is probably the most probable. During the announcement of the Sony and Marvel Spider-Man deal, they announced that Spider-Man will “first appear” in a Marvel movie prior to the new “Spider-Man” movie opening in 2017.
Marvel and Sony will announce that they have cast an actor to play “Spider-Man.” Very possible since “Civil War” starts shooting in April.
“Captain America: Civil War” will be split into two parts. This is wishful thinking on my part. There is so much material in the original Civil War comic book that there is no way that they could come close to being faithful to the original source material. Besides Captain America, Iron Man and hopefully Spider-Man, there is a huge lineup of superheroes involved. Civil War is one group of superheroes against another group of superheroes. You can’t squeeze all of that into one 2 hour movie.
Robert Downey Jr. will announce an extension to his contract with Marvel. Maybe showing up in “Guardians Of The Galaxy 2?” This could somehow tie the Guardians universe with the Avengers so that they could come together for “Avengers: Infinity War.”
New Trailer For “Avengers: Age Of Ultron” revealing “The Vision” for the very first time. This is very likely but definitely last on my list as to what I would prefer to see happen.

We should find out next Thursday and I will definitely let you know.

Tom Rothman Named New Chairman Of Sony Pictures; Does This Mean “Big Trouble” For “Spider-Man?”

Last week we had possibly the best news ever when it was announced that “Spider-Man” was coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. What a difference a week makes because this week we received some of the worst worst news ever. Tom Rothman is now in charge of Sony Pictures. What makes this such bad news? This guys track record is horrible when it comes to comic book movies and just movies in general. Tom Rothman was originally over at Fox and here are some of the questionable things that he did:

Rothman is rumored to be majorly responsible for all of the hate between Fox and Disney/Marvel.
Rothman was against the movie “X-Men” being made and went out of his way to cut the budget for the film. The first “X-Men” movie was the first superhero movie to reignite the public’s interest in superhero movies after the disastrous “Batman And Robin.” Comic book movie fans owe a lot to this movie.
Rothman was responsible for causing Brian Singer to leave as director of “X-Men: Last Stand” and then he hired Bret Ratner, one of Hollywood’s worst directors. Rothman went onto micromanage the film resulting in the worst X-Men movie ever made.
Rothman had his hands all over “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” and forced director Gavin Hood to make changes that he was firmly against. So many changes were made by Rothman to the final movie that Gavin Hood eventually came out and said, “This is not my movie anymore.”
Rothman refused to have any Sentinels in any “X-Men” movies while he was head of the studio.
Rothman was behind the cloud version of Galactus that appeared in “Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer.”
Rothman personally blocked the movie “Deadpool” from ever being made. The movie “Deadpool” was recently announced to be in production but it is mostly because Rothman left.
Rothman was behind the movie release of “Elektra.”
Ridley Scott and James Cameron were going to work together and make a sequel to “Aliens” and Rothman said no and decided to go with “Aliens Vs. Predator” instead.
Rumor is Rothman does not like comic book movies and he only names himself as producer for those comic book movies that guarantee him a huge paycheck and then he tinkers with them and they become a disaster.

It’s not all bad news though. I mentioned last time that with the new “Spider-Man” deal that Marvel has creative control of Spider-Man, which includes the upcoming solo film. Several people pointed out to me that in the press release Sony still has creative control. I found this hard to believe because Sony made the deal with Marvel because they knew they were having trouble with the “Spider-Man” franchise and they wanted to have similar success that the Marvel movies were experiencing. It made me wonder, why would Sony have creative control and why would Marvel agree not to have creative control? I recently read this in Bigassdigest.com and it confirms what I originally stated:

“Everything I have heard is that Marvel is calling most of the shots on this new movie. There’s been a lot of language in the press to help Sony avoid some embarrassment, to make this look less like admitting defeat.“

That sounds more feasible than Marvel not having any creative control and Sony having all of it.

Latino Review goes on to explain this even more in depth:

Avi Arad and Matt Tolomach, producers of the Amazing Spider-Man movies (and Arad being attached to the property since it’s initial sale) are producers for Spider-Man in name only.

We have information from a source suggesting there is no financial involvement whatsoever and no direct creative control over Spidey coming from the old guard. Amy Pascal still has a say in the Mom-and-Pop arrangement she has with Feige, but Disney didn’t want to unite Pearlmutter, Arad and Feige in earnest. This is the solution.

What does that mean? It means Marvel might have a bit more control than we thought. It means the new Spider-Man has been insulated from BOTH Avi Arad and new Sony head, superhero property curse, Tom Rothman.

As I had mentioned previously, there are many things that we will probably never know about the Spider-Man deal that exists with Disney/Marvel and Sony. I am sure that Disney was well aware of any possibility and probably knew that Amy Pascal was going to be replaced and who the likely candidates were. I don’t think they would have agreed to the deal if they did not have certain assurances and could also protect themselves. And I am sure one stipulation was “you wanted our help, don’t interfere in the direction we are taking the character.”

Rant: Seriously, why do corporations sometimes hire the worst possible candidates for high level positions? This guy seems like your typical corporate jerk who takes credit for everything and throws everyone else under the bus when someone is needed to blame. He seems like he thinks he knows better than everyone else and loves to throw his power around. I can never understand why people like this are constantly rewarded. Of all of the atrocities that he was responsible for, there was going to be an Aliens sequel where both Ridley Scott and James Cameron both agreed to be on board and he said no? This man should not even be allowed to work at a 7-Eleven.

Looks like Darth Vader still doesn’t know that Luke Skywalker is actually his son and he still hates his guts. In this issue, Han Solo and Princess Leia commandeer an AT-AT, C3PO has a license to drive the Millennium Falcon and Vader is about to take on the above mentioned AT-AT with a light saber!

“Star Wars #3” will go on sale on March 11th, 2015.

First Clear Image Of Marvel’s “Daredevil”

The magazine Film Ink has given us our best look at Daredevil so far by featuring “The Man With No Fear” on it’s front cover.

Rant: We better be seeing the classic red “Daredevil” costume very soon because if he is going to be wearing black pajamas throughout the first season, I’m not watching it. That’s like Batman not having his mask and cowl. That’s not Batman, that is just Bruce Wayne looking for trouble. This costume is fine if this is his first attempt at Daredevil but the character needs to look more like the iconic Daredevil. It makes no sense to be just showing us the black costume in promotions and not just revealing his red costume. Even if this was a motion picture, they would have revealed it by now. Don’t screw this up Marvel, you have a great track record with remaining loyal to the comics and the trailer looks great too.

Stan Lee Draws An Image Of “Spider-Man” For A Young Fan With Autism

This is a great story. The New York Times reported that Jamel Hunter, an 8 year old boy with autism, was celebrating his birthday with friends and family. Jamel’s favorite hero is Spider-Man and Jamel’s mother went out of her way to have Spider-Man images displayed throughout the birthday party.

Stan Lee read about the story and was moved and wanted to do something to help. Stan Lee is Spider-Man’s creator and he has always played the role of writer, not artist. But Stan decided this one time that he would draw a very special picture of Spider-Man for Jamel. New York Times writer, Michael Wilson, delivered the drawing to Jamel, with Lee’s signature in the corner.

‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Second Trailer Coming; Trailer Will Showcase ‘Original Trilogy’ Characters

The second teaser trailer for ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ will appear before the movie, ‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron,’ when it opens in theaters on May 1^st. This isn’t to much of a surprise since ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ is expected to have the biggest opening of 2015 and it makes sense to show the trailer before what is expected to be the second biggest opening, ‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron.’ It is rumored that we will get our first at look at Han, Leia, Luke and possibly Chewbacca, C3PO and R2D2 .

It is possible that we will see the second teaser even earlier than May 1^st. ‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ will open a week earlier in Australia and New Zealand. Also keep in mind that ‘Star Wars Celebration,’ which is the official Star Wars Convention, will take place on April 16-19 in Anaheim, California and there is a very strong probability that fans attending may see the teaser there.

Update: I just got some new information regarding the next trailer. /Film is saying that although they agree that the new trailer will debut before the film ‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron,’ they do not believe that the characters from the ‘Original Trilogy’ will be shown in the next trailer because Lucasfilm wants to keep their specific roles as secret as possible. This makes more sense to me and I will tell you why in the spoilers below.

SPOILERS: Your first clue is in the actual title, ‘The Force Awakens.’ Luke has been missing for 30 years. If Luke was around during all of that time, they would not have called the movie ‘The Force Awakens.’ As the last known living Jedi, Luke would not have just given up being a Jedi and stopped practicing the Force. MAJOR SPOILERS: Most insiders are saying that the movie opens up where Luke’s severed hand and his light saber are floating in space and the light saber lands on a desert planet (might be Tatooine, might not). This is what brings the main characters, John Boyega (Finn) and Daisy Ridley (Rey), together. They find the light saber and eventually find Han Solo, who confirms it is Luke’s light saber. Han, Rey and Finn then take off on the Millennium Falcon to search for Luke.

Walt Disney Studios has provided us with a list of their upcoming theatrical releases for 2015 as well as their release dates. Lets take a look at what awaits movie theater goers for 2015.

**New “Avengers: Age Of Ultron” Trailer To Premier January 12^th On ESPN**

During this year’s Rose Bowl, an advertisement was played for an exclusive new “Avengers: Age Of Ultron” trailer that will appear during the College Football National Championship, which will air on January 12^th at 8:30 PM on ESPN. There will also be an ad during the Superbowl on February 1^ston NBC. I’m not sure if these ads will be identical or not.

First “Ant-Man” Trailer To Premier January 6^th During Marvel’s “Agent Carter”; First Promotional Banner For “Ant-Man”

Marvel has announced that the very first trailer for “Ant-Man” will occur during the premier of “Agent Carter”, which will air on Tuesday January 6^th at 8PM on ABC.

Actress Haley Atwell is reprising her role as “Agent Carter”, who was a character seen in both Captain America movies. The series will focus on Agent Peggy Carter going on secret missions for Howard Stark while trying to navigate life as a single woman in 1940s America. “Agent Carter” will fill in for “Agents Of SHIELD”, while it is on it’s mid season break.

“Captain America” Star Chris Evans Visits Young Cancer Patient

Chris Evans stopped by to visit Kenny Botting, a young boy battling cancer. Evans was in Massachusetts for a fundraiser for Christopher’s Haven, a place that provides support for young cancer patients.

“It’s their strength that gives me strength. No matter what hurdles are in my life it’s nothing compared to what these families go through, so any way I can bring a smile it’s worth it,” Evans said.

“Daredevil” Series Rumored To Debut May 1^st On Netflix; New Synopsis

Twitter user, Marvel_Spider, noticed via his PS3 Netflix app that the first episode of “Daredevil” is scheduled to air on May 1^st. This date is also the exact same date as the release “Avengers: Age Of Ultron” in theaters. Keep in mind that this date may just be a placeholder since “Daredevil” is expected to debut this May.

Marvel’s Jeff Loeb recently gave a brief synopsis about the “Daredevil” series:

“Within the Marvel universe there are thousands of heroes of all shapes and sizes but The Avengers are here to save the universe and Daredevil is here to save the neighborhood. It’s a very unique look at Hell’s Kitchen in New York, where Matt Murdock grew up and continues to defend it from people who would harm the people that live there.”

**Marvel And SONY Meeting This Month To Discuss The Future Of The “Spider-man” Movie Franchise; Possible Plans**

We still do not have an official date but at some point during this month, Marvel and SONY will be sitting down to talk about Spider-man possibly joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Due to the recent SONY leaks, SONY Pictures needs all the help it can get to recover from the damage that these leaks have done to it’s reputation. More than likely we can expect to hear some kind of announcement in February from both camps regarding an agreement.

FuriousFanboys.com recently did a story on one of the SONY email leaks and it contained the following points of information:

In Captain America: Civil War, Tony Stark would recruit Spider-Man and give him a suit (the Iron Spider suit?). He’d meet the rest of the heroes such as Cap and Black Widow, etc.
Following that the first Spider-Man standalone would have him back home in Queens with Aunt May and back in school, while living in a world affected by Civil War where heroes are split into groups.
Marvel would then want Spider-Man to appear in Avengers: Infinity War parts 1 and 2.
Sony then would want a second standalone Spider-Man by 2019 so there isn’t too much time between his movies.

All of these points sound great and hopefully we will see something like this in the future. I still feel it is important to have Spider-man in “Captain America: Civil War” and hope that he isn’t just a cameo or an after credits teaser for “Avengers: Infinity War”. Even though the script has been finalized, I am sure it is very easy to just change the character (rumored to be Black Panther) back to the actual character the Civil War comic is based on, Spider-man.

Rumor: ‘Spider-Man’ Will Make His Marvel Cinematic Universe Debut In ‘Avengers: Infinity War Part 1’

Take this with a very heavy grain of salt. This story was originally posted by Latino Review, which has a decent track record for nailing exclusive stories, but they are not perfect. We still have not heard anything official from the SONY and Marvel Spider-man summit, which is to take place this month, but it sounds like some sort of agreement will be met where Spider-man will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Disney and Marvel will co produce future Spider-man movies with SONY.

According from a reliable source at Latino Review, the Spider-man deal is done. Since this article was written, SONY has denied any kind of deal has occurred but I also doubt that SONY would come out and say, “Yes, that is true,” until they are ready to do so.

Massive SPOILERS ahead concerning the fate of many of the Avengers and Spider-man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Nothing here is confirmed but comes from a reliable source. Do Not Read Unless You Want To Be Spoiled!

Since ‘Captain America: Civil War’ is close to starting production, unfortunately Spider-man will not be in this movie, even though he plays a major role in the comic book.
Andrew Garfield will no longer be Spider-man. Don’t count out Tobey Maguire just yet.
‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ will split up the team at the end. Captain America will lead one team. Iron Man will lead the other team.

This definitely sounds great and if this is all true, part 2 of Infinity War is going to be incredible. Again this has not been confirmed but hope Marvel is heading in this direction.

‘Marvel’s Daredevil‘ Will Premier On Netflix On April 10^th

Marvel Entertainment official announced the premier date for the Netflix series ‘Daredevil’ will be Friday, April 10^th. The poster above was released for the series as well as a small teaser below:

Preview Of Marvel Comics’ ‘Star Wars #1’

Marvel Comics’ ‘Star Wars #1’ came out January 14^th and it sounds like it sold even more than expected. According to Marvel, they sold more than one million issues to retailers. And the final tally for variant covers was 74! A second printing for ‘Star Wars #1’ has already been announced. Basically, anything Star Wars is gold. Marvel and Entertainment Weekly shared with us a special preview of some of the first panels from the first issue.

**Who Is The Mysterious Woman In The New ‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ Trailer?**

When the new ‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ trailer premiered last week the big question on everyone’s mind was who is this woman and where is she? The general consensus is that it could be one of two characters. The first would be the character Hela:

Hela is the Asgardian goddess of death in the Marvel universe. Originally appointed by Odin to rule over the dead in the realms of Hel and Niffelheim, she tried to expand her power to Valhalla, but was defeated by Thor. This led to her embracing the life of villainy and frequently clashing with the God of Thunder and many other Asgardians.

In the second trailer you can see below that Thor is being attacked in what seems to be a similar place to where this woman is and it does look like it could be on Asgard. Also Thor should never have any problem with lightning being the God Of Thunder. So this could be Hela and could lead directly into ‘Thor: Ragnarok’.

The other person that this woman could be is a member of the Dora Milaje, who are the personal bodyguards of the Black Panther. The movie did film in South Africa and from the rumors it does sound as though Wakanda, which is the Black Panther’s kingdom, may be one of the locations in the movie. This could lead up to ‘Captain America: Civil War’, which is supposed to have the first appearance of Black Panther.

I’m kind of hoping it is the former because I think that would be a great way to set up ‘Civil War’ and the future movies. Also in my first story above it would make somewhat sense if the possible spoilers for ‘Avengers: Infinity War Part 1’ were true.

Marvel And Netflix Have Found Their Luke Cage and Jessica Jones

Marvel has announced who will be playing heroes Luke Cage and Jessica Jones for Netflix’s upcoming Marvel series, AKA Jessica Jones. Mike Colter (The Good Wife) will play Luke Cage and Krysten Ritter (Breaking Bad) will play Jessica Jones. Luke Cage will first be introduced in the Netflix series’s, AKA Jessica Jones and will later join up with Iron Fist. Eventually he will have his own Luke Cage series leading ultimately to a similar small screen version of The Avengers called “The Defenders”, which will include Daredevil, Iron Fist, Luke Cage and Jessica Jones.

First Look At Marvel’s “Star Wars: Princess Leia #1”

StarWars.com got their hands on an exclusive preview of the upcoming Marvel Comic, “Star Wars: Pricess Leia #1.” The story takes place right after the movie, “Star Wars: A New Hope” and deals with Leia coming to terms with the destruction of her home planet, Alderaan, by the Death Star in A New Hope. Star Wars: Princess Leia will go on sale in March 2015.

Peter Jackson Will Not Do A Comic Book Movie

Can we get this in writing? Recently while being interviewed by Movie Fone, Peter Jackson was asked about the idea of doing a comic book movie. His response was, “I don’t really like the Hollywood blockbuster bandwagon that exists right now. The industry and the advent of all the technology, has kind of lost its way. It’s become very franchise driven and superhero driven. I’ve never read a comic book in my life so I’m immediately at a disadvantage and I have no interest in that.”

Now that I got that out of the way, talk about the pot calling the kettle black. First off, I love The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy but the Hobbit Trilogy was a mess. I really don’t want to see Peter Jackson make a superhero movie split into 3 parts where only one movie is needed, I don’t need to see real actors in makeup replaced with awful looking CGI and I don’t need to see unnecessary made up characters have more screen time than the actually character that the book and the movie are based on. The movie was called The Hobbit and he was reduced to a supporting character.

Vin Diesel Teases Again That He Will Be In “Marvel’s Inhumans”

For months Vin Diesel has been teasing that he will be a character in the upcoming Marvel movie, “Inhumans”. Diesel was at it again when he posted the above photo on his Facebook page.

Most people feel the obvious choice that Diesel will play is the Inhumans leader, Black Bolt. What’s interesting is that in Guardians Of The Galaxy, he only uses his voice for the character Groot and if he is cast as Black Bolt in Inhumans, that character does not speak.

Marvel’s Inhumans will be released on November 2^nd, 2018.

The Iron Man Mark XLIII collectible figure is another beautifully designed premium figure designed by Hot Toys and available for sale exclusively at Sideshow Collectibles.Â This will be the exact same suit that Iron Man wears in “Avengers: Age Of Ultron”. Iron Man Mark XLIII is priced at $344.99 and expected to ship in August 2015.

First Good Look At “Vision” From “Avengers: Age Of Ultron”

A picture of a promotional movie poster has leaked online for Avengers: Age Of Ultron and we get out first good look at Vision as one of the new team members. I definitely couldn’t be happier because they made the look of Vision very faithful to the comics. Growing up, Vision was always my favorite member of the Avengers and I’m so glad that he will be in the movie and that he looks great. Also glad to see Captain America finally wearing a good costume and that his ears are finally showing (maybe lose the chin strap or paint it blue).

First Official Trailer (Not Teaser) For “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” To Appear Before “Avengers: Age Of Ultron”

By now, most people have seen the teaser trailer for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”. And as awesome as that teaser was, it didn’t reveal much of the plot. Teasers are just that, they tease us and just give us quick flashes of a movie. A trailer on the other hand is usually 2 minutes or more and gives us some idea of the plot and what to expect from the movie. According to /Film.com, they were informed that the first official trailer for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will be attached to the movie, “Avengers: Age Of Ultron” on May 1st, 2015. Age Of Ultron will be Disney’s second larges film of that year and it makes sense to introduce Disney’s largest film of that year, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”. Cross promotion marketing working at it’s best!

“Avengers: Age Of Ultron” Set To Have Stars Return For Re-shoots

Even though filming for Avengers: Age Of Ultron completed months ago, some of the stars are being asked back to film some re-shoots in London early next year. According to DailyMail.com, Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man), Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Paul Bettany (The Vision), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) and Tom Hiddleston (bad-guy Loki) have all been asked to make themselves available over a two-week period in January to film additional scenes at Pinewood Studios. Interesting that Chris Evans (Captain America) is not on the list. Total speculation on my part, but it could mean that maybe they are filming additional scenes to introduce one of these two characters (I can dream, can’t I?):

The cover above is from my all time favorite artist, Alex Ross. It’ really great to see him doing so many Star Wars covers lately. 🙂

Dark Horse Comics had been publishing Star Wars comic books since the 80’s and they have done an excellent job with the franchise. Many Star Wars fans, myself included, were worried when Marvel got the rights back to the Star Wars comic book franchise that it wouldn’t match the quality of what Dark Horse Comics had done. But looking at this preview, I would say they are on the right track.

Guardians Of The Galaxy Animated Series Coming To Disney XD In Early 2015

Originally announced at this year’s New York Comic Con (NYCC), “Guardians Of The Galaxy, The Animated Series” is set to premier on Disney XD in early 2015.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy will follow the adventures of Peter Quill, a.k.a. Star-Lord, who teams up with Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Gamora and Drax the Destroyer to protect the universe from its greatest threats.

Dad Dresses As Spider-man To Wish His Son A Very Special Birthday

In a video posted recently on to Youtube, Jayden Wilson’s dad, Mike Wilson, dressed up as the comic book hero Spider-man to ensure that his son, who was diagnosed with having a grade four brain tumor in September last year, had an extra special 5^th birthday.

The video captures Mike Wilson, dressed from head-to-toe in a Spider-Man costume, jumping from the top of the family’s roof and in front of a shocked Jayden.

Emily Blunt Talks About Fan Interest In Her Playing “Captain Marvel”

Even before the movie Captain Marvel was announced, many comic book fans had their top actress picks to play the character. One actress I thought of, especially after seeing Edge Of Tomorrow, was Emily Blunt. What not to many people know is that Emily Blunt has been courted by Marvel several times to be in a superhero movie. She was the first choice to play Peggy Carter in Captain America and was also the first choice to play Black Widow. Maybe the third time is a charm.

Recently during an interview with Screen Crush Blunt was asked about playing Captain Marvel:

SC: Are you aware of the Internet buzz surrounding you playing Captain Marvel?

EB: Somebody told me about it this morning! I knew because my brother told me.

SC: People want you to play Captain Marvel.

EB: Which is kind of amazing. What’s she like, though? I don’t know anything about her. What’s it like, this character?

SC: She’s great. She’s witty and strong. That’s why people keep bringing your name up. They don’t want a boring actor. A lot of personality.

EB: Oh, cool. They call it fan casting?

SC: Yes.

EB: Which is lovely. It’s my favorite kind of casting! I wish it was always like that.

SC: Maybe they can make ‘Captain Marvel’ a musical now that you’ve done ‘Into the Woods.’EB: [Laughs] ‘Captain Musical Marvel.’ Let’s just call Marvel about that right now. We’ll call Kevin Feige about that. “Kevin Feige, we have one hell of an idea.” Yeah.

SC: But in seriousness, it does appeal to you?EB: I think, it’s always for me, it’s always about—and now, more so—what am I putting out there? What would be interesting for me and what would be interesting for people to see. So, if it’s an awesome part, it doesn’t matter if it’s a Marvel movie or a tiny movie, I’d be up for it.

SC: You’d be a hero for every 10-year-old girl out there right now. There’s no Marvel female superhero who has her own movie yet.

EB: Really? That’s huge. How awesome. I love this. No one has actually called me about it, so, we’ll hold our breath. [Laughs] I don’t know if I’ll get the call ever if I pitch it should be a musical.

Marvel Releases An Extended Trailer For Avengers: Age Of Ultron

The Avengers: Age Of Ultron teaser trailer was originally supposed to air during last week’s episode of Agents Of SHEILD, but due to the trailer being leaked early, Marvel decided to release the trailer early. To entice people to watch the episode of Agents Of Shield that was to debut the original trailer, Marvel released and extended trailer especially for Agents Of SHIELD that included a new scene from the movie.

What is great about this scene is you get to see the Avengers taking a break from the action and enjoying what looks to be a party at Avengers Tower. Thor, in his Earth casual clothes, challenges the other Avengers to do an almost impossible task, lift his hammer, Mjölnir. The writing on Mjölnir states, “Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor.” So basically one must be worthy.

Both Iron Man and War Machine are unable to budge it.

If you notice, Captain America does move it, he just doesn’t lift it.

My opinion is that Captain America is holding back, and that he knows he can lift it, but he doesn’t want to show off to the other Avengers. In the comics, there are very few people, other than Thor, who can lift Mjölnir and one of those people is Captain America. You can’t be more worthy than Captain America. Another person who has lifted Mjölnir is Superman when the Justice League took on The Avengers in a DC/Marvel crossover (might as well throw in Captain America’s shield while you are at it).

So What About Spider-Man?

The one thing that that I was hoping that would be announced during the Marvel Phase 3 Event was that Spider-man would be joining the Avengers, but it didn’t happen. That doesn’t mean that it is not going to happen. Kevin Feige, the President of Marvel studios, was asked directly whether Spider-man will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe and he replied, “Anything that wasn’t specifically and obviously revealed today is either not true at all, or still rumor until it’s worked out.” Originally Marvel was to have the Phase 3 announcement at this years New York City’s Comic Con, but Robert Downey Jr. was still in negotiations to star in Captain America: Winter Soldier and they wanted to make sure that it was official before they announced it. The last line that Kevin Feige said about Spider-man gives me hope. Until it’s worked out. I do believe that Disney, Marvel and Sony are working out a deal to bring Spider-man to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which it will be beneficial to all parties involved.

In the comics, Spider-man is an integral part of Civil War. Some would say that you could not adapt Civil War without him. The truth is, it can be done, but it wont be as good. It is my gut feeling that in Avengers: Age Of Ultron, the after credit scene will consist of Spider-man swinging towards Avenger’s Tower.

Being the nerd that I am, I made a little preview of what I feel will go down:

Avenger’s: Age Of Ultron Clip Leaks Onto The Internet

During Marvel’s Phase 3 Event that was held recently, the audience was shown an exclusive clip from Avengers: Age Of Ultron. The clip has not been officially released but, at this time, a leaked version is available on YouTube. Basically, this scene is setting up the Civil War. Steve and Tony are outdoors splitting logs and there seems to be a lack of trust and a question of ones methods between the two of them. Some of the audio is difficult to understand, but here is a breakdown of what was said:

TONY: Thor didn’t say where he’s going to get answers?

STEVE: Sometimes my teammates don’t tell me things. I was kinda hoping Thor would be the exception.

TONY: Yeah, in time. We don’t know what the Maximoff kid showed him.

STEVE: I don’t know what she showed you. It’s enough to make you do something stupid. “Earth’s Mightiest Heroes” — pulled us apart like cotton candy.

TONY: Well, it seems that you walked away alright.

STEVE: Is that a problem?

TONY: I don’t trust a guy without a dark side. Call me old-fashioned.

STEVE: Well, let’s just say you haven’t seen it yet.

TONY: Banner and I have been doing this research—

STEVE: —that would affect the team—

TONY: —that would END the team! Isn’t that the mission? Isn’t that the “why” we fight, so we can end the fight, so we get to go home??

STEVE: Every time someone tries to win a war before it starts, innocent people die. Every time. What do you think?

(SPOILERS) Runor is that The Avengers will split up into two teams at the end of Age Of Ultron. Captain America will form his own team consisting of Black Widow, War Machine, Falcon, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, essentially forming the West Coast Avengers. Iron Man will form the (East Coast) Avengers consisting of Thor, Hulk and Vision. Black Panther will appear in Captain America: Civil War but I am not sure whose side he will be on, and also not sure of Hawkeye. In Captain America: Civil War, I think that the main battles will consist of Captain America fighting Iron Man. But even though it hasn’t been announced, I would expect to see all of the Avengers in Captain America: Civil War, just their roles wont be as prominent as Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr.

Benedict Cumberbatch Will Be “Doctor Strange”

For months I have been reporting that someone new is up for the role of Doctor Strange and recently Deadline has confirmed that Benedict Cumberbatch will indeed be Marvel’s newest cinematic superhero, Doctor Strange. I couldn’t be happier because Cumberbatch is the one that I wanted from the very beginning. He has proven to me, especially through his role in Sherlock, that his has great acting ability and he does indeed have the look needed for Doctor Strange. Still no official word from Marvel but it sounds like they are close to finalizing the contract.

After his career is destroyed, Dr. Stephen Strange, a brilliant but arrogant surgeon gets a new lease on life when a sorcerer takes him under his wing and trains him to defend the world against evil.

Doctor Strange will be released in theaters On July 8^th, 2016.

Captain Marvel Fan Made Poster

It is hard to believe that this is a fan made poster because it is practically perfect. I have a feeling that this is the costume that will be used when Captain Marvel hits the big screen because her current costume is not very family friendly. Captain Marvel (Ms. Marvel) is basically a combination of Wonder Woman and Superman. She has super human strength, the power of flight and cosmic powers, such as firing energy blasts from her hands. Captain Marvel’s identity is Carol Danvers and she is from Boston. Actress Katheryn Winnick is mostly known for playing Lagertha in the History Channel series Vikings.

Captain Marvel will be released on July 6^th, 2018.

Without a doubt, the coolest scene in the trailer is when we finally get to see Iron Man in his Hulk Buster armor battling The Hulk. We also get a very good look at Ultron and I really love his design. His eyes are very human like, but his pupils glow red. Another amusing thing that Disney fans will notice is the song from Pinocchio, “I’ve Got No Stings” eerily plays throughout the trailer, referring that no longer will Ultron take orders from Tony Stark and is free to take over the world.
