As you can see, signage is up, but a look through the walls reveals a mostly finished product.

Baseline Tap House opened today on Grand Avenue at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, in (according to the storyline) an abandoned L.A. printing company that once worked with the Walt Disney Studios in the 1950’s. Here’s a short tour of the new bar and lounge:

PHOTO: Baseline Tap House Sign Unveiled At Grand Avenue

We made our way to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to check out changes and progress today noticed that the sign for the Baseline Tap House has gone up on Grand Avenue. Check it out below!

Since the bar and lounge is supposed to be an abandoned print shop with ties to the Walt Disney Studios, the sign features individual letter slugs like would be used in printing.

Muppets Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is No More, Grand Avenue Taking Over

The recently named Muppets Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is already no more, as Disney announced today that the entire land and the remains of the Streets of America will all become the new Grand Avenue area this Fall.

 width=

Muppets Courtyard, along with a portion of the former Streets of America, is being re-imagined by Walt Disney Imagineering to become a new area called Grand Avenue. Inspired by the revitalization and the vibrant culture of present-day downtown Los Angeles, Grand Avenue is where vintage office buildings and warehouses are being converted to exciting new uses. Guests will soon see facades for “merchants” appearing in this area for a music shop, loft apartments, a tailor and more, with each window on the street featuring charming displays.

Grand Avenue includes BaseLine Tap House, which takes over the former Writer’s Stop. This new corner pub will feature California beers and wines along with a selection of small bites.

The current Muppets Courtyard will become Grand Park, an urban square off Grand Avenue surrounded by shops and restaurants like PizzeRizzo and Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano. Guests can already see changes in the area, with the Muppets theater being renamed “Grand Arts Theatre” and boasting a brand-new marquee. Disney has assured guests that the hilarious and irreverent “Muppet*Vision 3D” show will remain in this new area.

The future of the Stage 1 “Muppets Store” and various themed elements in the area remains in doubt as Disney has not mentioned them specifically.

PHOTOS, VIDEO: Baseline Tap House Facade Revealed, New Details of Grand Avenue at Hollywood Studios

Opening this Fall, what remains of New York Street at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will become Grand Avenue, a representation of modern day Los Angeles. Situated in the former home of the Writer’s Stop will be the Baseline Tap House, a new bar and lounge just steps away from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. This week, the facade of the Tap House was revealed and lampposts are going up on the new street:

The former Writer’s Stop now has a brick facade.

Lamps have been installed all around the area, likely meaning it is not far from opening.

Grand Avenue at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is Just Queue Space to Enter Star Wars Land

Many have been asking, besides the Baseline Tap House, what is the purpose of the Grand Avenue area at Disney’s Hollywood Studios? It’s a fairly big parcel and nothing more than this bar and lounge has been announced for it. What else is going in there? Well, the answer is the only dedicated queue space ever built for a land.

Based on the absolutely monstrous demand that there is to see Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, this giant street will act as a queue just to enter the area. Guests will be able to exit to Grand Avenue or Toy Story Land, but entry to Toy Story Land seems unlikely for the opening months (maybe even years) of the Star Wars themed land. This info comes directly from an Imagineer working on the Florida version of the Galaxy’s Edge project.

So yes, there will be a theme park land at Hollywood Studios that is just queue space and a bar essentially.

While Grand Avenue opens this Fall, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will not be completed until mid-to-late-2019 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Modern-Day L.A. Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios In New “Grand Avenue” Area, Baseline Tap House Replaces Writer’s Stop

Debuting this fall, the new Grand Avenue area at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is being re-imagined by Walt Disney Imagineers to capture the spirit of present-day Downtown Los Angeles, showing vintage office buildings and warehouses representing the different vibrant districts and cultures of the city. This new area will be home to Baseline Tap House, a cheerful corner pub specializing in beer and wines from California.

In a quaint brick building, Baseline Tap House celebrates the revitalization of Downtown Los Angeles by paying homage to the building’s former life as the Figueroa Printing Company, a mom-and-pop print house that had ties to the Disney studios in nearby Burbank. The space retains many of its cool architectural and mechanical details with exposed walls and old printing equipment and artifacts, blending the past and present in an inviting space. Outside will be a charming tree-shaded terrace.

The drink menu will be made up of California craft ales, lagers and cider. California wines on tap along with specialty cocktails will be available as well. A gourmet non-alcoholic lemonade and soda on tap round out the drink selection. Small bites including a Bavarian pretzel with mustard and beer-cheese fondue, spiced almonds or a charcuterie board featuring California cheeses will also be sold.

Baseline Tap House will open daily at 11 a.m. Baseline Tap House replaces the former Writer’s Stop next door to the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater (and sadly also looks like it will keep the Writer’s Stop lounge menu), while Grand Avenue takes up shop in a renovated remaining section of the adjacent New York Street.
