PHOTO REPORT: Magic Kingdom 10/31/17 (MARVEL Invasion, New Princess & Tinker Bell Merchandise, Halloween Party, Club 33, ETC.)
Our latest photo report brings us to the Magic Kingdom for one last look at the Halloween season before Christmas settles in next week.
Welcome to the Magic Kingdom
The last Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Part is on November 1st, and then it’s full speed to the Christmas season at the park.
A section of the Emporium is still behind tarps.
Items in the Vera Bradley Alice in Wonderland collection are buy one, get one 50% off at Uptown Jewelers.
The Little Mermaid collection is also available here.
A smaller version of The Dress Shop has opened towards Casey’s Corner. Many of the dresses, purses, and more from the Disney Springs shop can be found here now.
For some reason, this limited release shirt from ShopDisney is being sold in the parks concurrently. The location makes sense as this space was the House of Magic many years ago. Hopefully, more limited release shirts like this get released at the parks as well. Sadly, the matching MagicBand is online only.
The more confusing part is putting the shirt in a window that’s currently boarded up and no one can see…
Even though a few parties remain, any guest at the Magic Kingdom can now buy select items from the event.
As I said last year, I don’t agree with this. At least wait for the last party to end or send it to the outlets. It takes away one of the parks of the very expensive party ticket.
The Club That’s Made Not for You and Me
As we reported over the weekend, work has begun on what will likely be the Club 33 locations for the Magic Kingdom, the remainder of the old Adventureland Veranda.
The path into Adventureland is quite narrow right now due to the work.
Some are speculating that this work is actually for a permanent Moana meet and greet, but it seems way too extensive for something so minor.
Giant sections of awning that have been there since the 70’s have been removed. This wouldn’t be necessary for a meet and greet and could have been kept.
With a little tree clearing, the patio would offer some unique fireworks views for Club 33 guests.
This and That
All of the trees between Be Our Guest Restaurant and the village had to be removed due to hurricane damage.
In fairness, it doesn’t look terrible since all of the walls the trees covered are well-themed.
We’re still hoping they plant some new trees, at least to cover this speaker tower.
Work continues on the outdoor covered seating area at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe. Should open very soon.
Pecos Bill’s has added an menu with pictures… it’s a window cling.
Splash Mountain is still closed for refurbishment.
Some new holiday plush for sale. Goofy’s sweater features bulbs that actually light up.
You can get the blown-glass Monorail ornament personalized at Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe.
For some reason, they have a Haunted Mansion merchandise cart out in front of the store selling accessories. I suppose this is to capitalize on Halloween Party guests.
Princess ApparelÂ
A number of new Princess items were released recently, including this Snow White line.

Dirk Wallen’s 5/14-16/12 WDW Photo Report
WDWNT Reporter Dirk Wallen visited the Walt Disney World theme parks over the last three days and has some newsworthy photos to share with us from his trip. We’ll take a look at New Fantasyland, Star Wars Weekends preparation, and more from around the Vacation Kingdom of the World, so let’s get started:
The Main Street Bakery is still behind tarps (I’m starting to think this has something to do with Starbucks moving in)
Facade work continues on the Confectionary and Chapeau
The temporary Tangled meet and greet rolls on
Work was completed on the Main Street bridge
Work on the Princess Merida meet and greet has been completed
A nearby cart has Brave merchandise
I find it hard to believe that they will sell much before the movie is released
I fully expect to get shot with arrows by smaller guests on a regular basis now…
The second Dumbo spinner is rapidly nearing completion
If I were a betting man… and I am…
I’d wager that the second spinner will be open by Memorial Day
The official opening is July, along with the interactive queue
The Casey Jr. Splash ‘N’ Soak Station looks nearly complete
We’re still not entirely sure if the center portion will spin at a slow speed like a roundhouse
98? An Animal Kingdom reference? We think about these things too much…
A look at Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid
Near the construction of what we assume is a new Pooh meet and greet, a mysterious box has appeared
The Castle Wall is rising…
More scaffolding finally went up on the detailed portion near Village Haus
This steel frame should be covered soon
This side is further along
Some walkway work being done near the Carousel as well
I had to stare at this for a while to realize what I was seeing… this is the view from the Haunted Mansion across the old Skyway site. I assume this will be addressed as construction moves forward.
Construction of the Grand Floridian DVC wing continues
A new parking lot being built across the way
Going up!
Star wars Weekends preparation underway at Studios
“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!”
You can still become an unwanted action figure… ZING!
The Droid Factory recently opened at Tatooine Traders. You can make your own R2 unit toy!
Scott Smith just died
Brave banners up in the Animation Courtyard
Work was completed on the Disney Junior queue
Looks like they just replaced the awning
The same seems to be happening to the meet and greet area
Goodbye Kim…
Work continues on the new, separate Turtle Talk entrance at the Seas
A Look Inside the Ballroom at New Fantasyland’s Be Our Guest Restaurant
Disney has released a stunning video of the interior of the Be Our Guest Restaurant in New Fantasyland. The sound-bites are from Chris Kelly (Show Producer, Walt Disney Imagineering) and Tim Warzecha (Senior Project Manager, Walt Disney Imagineering):
This video is released today as Disney formally announced that Be Our Guest Restaurant, Enchanted Tales with Belle, Gaston’s Tavern, Ariel’s Grotto, and Under the sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid will not open until Holiday 2012. The Casey Jr. Splash ‘N’ Soak Station and the second Dumbo spinner will open July.
Magic Kingdom “New Fantasyland” Construction Update – 6/6/12
What’s the latest on the New Fantasyland project at the Magic Kingdom? I took plenty of photos during my most recent trip of the progress, so let’s take a look:
Snow White’s Scary Adventures is closed….
Walls go down to Sir Mickey’s
The Seven Dwarfs’ Mine is still open
Speaking of the Seven Dwarfs’, here’s the progress on the Mine Train
The Dumbo marquee was finally installed and the Timothy figure from the old ride is back!
The back of the sign is pretty neat
Work continues on the former Tigger’s Bouncy Place
Rumor is that Winnie the Pooh and Tigger will be doing meet and greets in this new spot
The facade of Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid is looking great
More Mine Train
The second Dumbo spinner was testing all week, should be open any day now
Another look at Mermaid
Big Top Souvenirs still under construction
More Mermaid
The new Dumbo sign on a sunnier day…
The hose that the monkey uses to spray guests will go across the entire Casey Jr. Splash ‘N’ Soak Station
Guests have been ripping the handles off of the luggage near the train station
They aren’t doing too well
Some were completely ripped off
Hadn’t see this reference yet
The unlabeled structure next to Pete’s Silly Sideshow is coming along nicely
Pete’s Silly Sideshow progress
Another look at the mystery structure
Some new steel has appeared at the base of the Mine Train
Looks like one of the lower hills
A new stand-by wait sign up at the second dumbo spinner
An arrow was added to the construction walls so it is clearer to guests what is back in Storybook Circus
A day later and a primer coat of paint is going on the new covered area in the Pooh queue
The Castle Walls are coming along quickly
Walls also up near the Carousel
The old Skyway site is still pretty barren
Tarps up at “it’s a small world”
Adam Roth’s 6/23/12 Magic Kingdom Photo Report
WDWNT Reporter Adam Roth visited the Magic Kingdom on Saturday and he has a ton of newsworthy photos to share with us. Dueling Dumbos are flying, Casey Jr. is splashing and soaking, and whole lot is going on at the park, so let’s take a look:
Let’s get right to Fantasyland
Seven Dwarfs’ Mine Train
More steel rises
Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid looms in the distance
The new Winnie the Pooh meet and greet is open, replacing Tigger’s Bouncy Place
Dumbo FASTPASS is running and at Philharmagic’s old machines
Another look at Mine Train
Mermaid rockwork extending down towards Storybook Circus
Big Top Souvenirs
We finally have dueling Dumbos!
Timothy now spins and moves on the sign
Only 30 minutes for stand-by… it’s working…
A large wall has appeared on the Mine Train structure
Back to Dumbo
FASTPASS return will skip the tent queue
Love the magic feather on the clock…
The old Dumbo is back as the new Dumbo! Wait… what?
“Transformers: The Ride was much better!”
No interactive queue today 🙁
A photo with two Dumbos? MIND BLOWN!
Disney released some footage of the dueling Dumbos for you to enjoy:
More Mine Train
Big Top Souvenirs
Casey Jr. Splash ‘N’ Soak Station is open
Casey Jr. got fenced in… apparently there were some safety issues with the water and guests climbing in
Other than that, the area looks great!
The animals spin and spray, much nicer than other water play areas
Poor Casey sits in a time out…
The attraction sign is pretty cool too
The backs of the 4 train cars have the years that each WDW park opened – 71, 82, 89, and 98
A nicely themed new merchandise cart sells fitting water-play merchandise
and hats…
This car will be the most popular with the fanboys… they will gather here and tell tales of Horizons
The area behind Casey still needs some work…
This PIXAR short reference was added a few weeks ago
You may recognize this emblem from Town Square Theater
Casey does look pretty great though
He even blinks!
This is always pretty disturbing…
Looking into Mermaid, you can see trees and ship wreckage are now visible
The new Winnie the Pooh meet and greet
Castle Wall construction
Mystery walls still up by the Carousel
Snow White is still closed… and it ain’t reopening anytime soon…
Only visible change is the missing attraction sign which we assume has gone to the archives
Dumbo FASTPASS, that way!
It isn’t going to open, so I’m not sure why he turned around…
If you haven’t exited by now…
Winnie the Pooh and Dumbo now share the Philharmagic FASTPASS distribution
The new signs are cool, and they give you the standby wait for each ride
More Castle Wall work
Vertical construction has begun on the old Skyway area
Looks like Rapunzel’s tower to me 😉
For the nerd in your family, anything on this shelf will do
The Crow’s Nest is closed! The sign is down… it would be a shame to lose one of the park’s oldest shops, formerly sponsored by Kodak…. We’ll keep an eye on this
Wendell!
Not sure what happened here
Skyway construction visible from across the park
Work continues on the Main Street Bakery
I still think this has something to do with Starbucks…
Package Pick-Up still behind tarps as well
As is The Confectionary and the Chapeau
Looks like the Snow White poster is finally down and now Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom has its own poster
Big Thunder Mountain is on the maps now… I can’t remember the last time that happened
An Aerial Look at New Fantasyland – March 2012
Courtesy of Scott Keating and scottkeating.net, we once again have some fantastic aerial photos of Fantasyland to share with you:
The base of the old Dumbo is still lingering, guess it isn’t that easy to completely remove…
A lot going on here: The bridge that will serve as the entrance to the Be Our Guest Restaurant is nearing completion, the Mermaid queue entrance is out from behind scaffolding and appears mostly complete with the exception of pavement, and we can now make out a distinguishable footprint for the Seven Dwarves Mine Train
Another angle shows that Gaston’s Tavern is far behind the other buildings in the village
We can now see where the Casey Jr. Splash ‘N’ Soak Station is going in Storybook Circus, but what lies beyond it in the tents is mostly a mystery…
Getting away from Fantasyland, the Big Thunder Mountain refurbishment rolls on with most of the queue being rebuilt, all track being replaced, and a visible fresh coat of paint being applied to the entire mountain
Work continues on the DVC wing of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Even More Photos of the Opening of Storybook Circus
WDWNT Reporter Adam Roth took a ton of photos of today’s opening of Storybook Circus at the Magic Kingdom. As if we didn’t have enough coverage today, here’s a whole lot more:
The entrance to Circus is still a mess of walls
Fantastic artwork up on the walls
Humphrey the Bear with a candy apple… I smell a new counter service loaction
Temporary carts from Main Street fill the walkway
There’s something weird about these outside of the area
Extended queue out for Dumbo
The Dumbo building is pretty awesome
Walls where the Casey Jr. Splash ‘N’ Soak is going soon
The tents are far from finished
The Barnstormer queue uses targets to cover guests
A Rocketeer reference? Or just a coincidence?
I see Imagineer hats…
Hidden Wiseacre Farm reference
Lit fuse
A lot of extended queue
WORLD’S COOLEST RESTROOMS
They look happy in their new costumes 🙂
Peanuts in the pavement…
Walls still up along the Speedway
Taking some publicity shots
A lot of work left to go on the tents
Dumbo is on the map now
Not only is Storybook Circus on the map, but the Castle Wall and the new Pooh facade made it as well
Casey Jr. Splash ‘N’ Soak Station is coming soon
Even More Aerial Pictures of New Fantasyland – March 2012
Courtesy of Scott Keating and scottkeating.net, we once again have some fantastic aerial photos of Fantasyland to share with you:
Supports for the Seven Dwarves Mine Train are going up
The base of the Casey Jr. Splash ‘N’ Soak Station is in place at Storybook Circus and the second tent is now fully covered
A lot of work still to go on the second Dumbo spinner
The bases for the Castle Walls are starting to go in at the old Dumbo site
Adam Roth’s 4/4/12 Magic Kingdom Photo Report
WDWNT Reporter Adam Roth visited the Magic Kingdom yesterday and has some newsworthy photos to share with us, so let’s take a look:
AVENGERAIL!
A look from the inside
The jet-black look is pretty sweet
A beautiful day on Main Street U.S.A.
Work continues slowly on the Castle Walls in Fantasyland
Supports for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train have risen
The little details on Prince Eric’s castle are beginning to emerge
The crane is still on site
It looks like they are trying to age the building a little
Looks like the Mine Train will block the view of Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid
Shingles going on the rooftops in Belle’s Village
Work continues on removing the Tigger Bounce area from the Pooh queue
Posters line the construction walls on the way to Storybook Circus
The extended rock-work at Mermaid is still in the early stages
It looks like the Casey Jr. Splash and Soak Station may be on a spinning platform like a roundhouse
Another look at the Mine Train supports
The remainder of the circus is coming along slowly
Another look at the Mermaid facade
There is a slight gap to correct…
Still a lot of walls…
Water level is a little low… and it’s a little green
The Adventureland Veranda was never so popular
A lot of guests want a Dole Whip
A reasonable line for a Sorcerers window? AMAZING!
The Sunshine Tree Terrace is out from behind tarps
The new sign, with a temporary sun on it
Well, it appears the Little Orange Bird is behind the sun…
Wow, they have food now
And the Citrus Swirl is back
I really want to try some of this stuff
AVENGERAIL!
MAY 4th!
A Look at New Fantasyland From High Above Cinderella Castle
Some Walt Disney World cast members were sent pictures taken from the large crane that was over Cinderella Castle a few days back, and the look into New Fantasyland is exquisite:
The Enchanted Tales with Belle and Be Our Guest Restaurant show building
Belle’s Village including Gaston’s Tavern and Bonjour Village Gifts
Work continues on the former Mickey’s Toontown Fair tents, they will open late this year
The Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid building
The Fantasyland Station looks great, but the Casey Jr. Splash ‘N’ Soak Station is nowhere to be seen
The installed Dumbo spinner
An overall look
Not Fantasyland, but how often do you see this view?
I smell a new iPhone wallpaper…
