PHOTOS, VIDEO: New Look Mickey Mouse Character Debuts at Town Square Theater Meet & Greet at Magic Kingdom

You may recall that Mickey Mouse got a bit of an updated look last year at many meet & greet locations and in various shows around the Disney Parks. Well, now guests can meet the new-look Mickey as a magician in the Town Square Theater at the Magic Kingdom.

Of course, Mickey is still talking to guests, as you can see in our video below.

Town Square Theater is open daily at the Magic Kingdom on Main Street U.S.A., available via both a standby queue and FastPass+ reservations.

PHOTOS, VIDEO: Baby Groot & Star Lord of MARVEL’s Guardians of the Galaxy Now Meeting Guests at Walt Disney World

This morning, a new meet and greet experience debuted at Disney’s Hollywood Studios featuring Star Lord and Baby Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which of course also opened today in theaters.

The meet and greet is located inside Walt Disney: One Man’s Dream, replacing what was the Moana meet and greet experience.

The queue remains small, and just features some star projections over big galaxy images that cover the walls.

The meet and greet experience itself is pretty neat, featuring Star Lord and a living-character version of Baby Groot that can actually interact with guests.

The experience is now open daily from open to close hours for the One Man’s Dream attraction and will remain through the 2017 holiday season.

New ‘Doc Mcstuffins’ Meet and Greet Coming Soon to Animal Kingdom

Starting sometime later this month the character ‘Doc McStuffins’ from the animated Disney Junior tv series “Doc McStuffins”,  will be available for a character meet and greet at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

At this time there is no official start date to when this will happen, all we know right now is that the meet and greet will be added some time later this coming month. Currently ‘Doc Mcstuffins’ is at Hollywood Studios, and will be at both parks.

‘Doc McStuffins’ will be found outside the veterinarian clinic at Rafiki’s Planet Watch. While there, kids will be able to take their pictures with Doc, have her sign autographs, and also learn about conservation and how the vets at Animal Kingdom take care for the animals that live there.

PHOTOS, VIDEO: New Disney VISA Card Meet and Greet Opens at Epcot with Lots of Future World Aesthetic Goodness

I don’t often freak out about tiny new meet and greet experiences at the park, but the new Disney VISA Cardholder exclusive spot at Epcot is pretty sweet.

The new location under wraps a few weeks ago.

The new location under wraps a few weeks ago.

The space once occupied by “Figment’s Place” some years ago is now the home for the spot, with the Innoventions location closing forever last Thursday. With the closure, guests can no longer enter what was Innoventions West, other than the Baymax and Inside Out meet and greet experiences that are considered part of the Epcot Character Spot.

The former Disney VISA meet and greet location, now shuttered.

The former Disney VISA meet and greet location, now shuttered.

The new locations is nestled on the patio of the Imagination pavilion, just behind the waterfall and jumping fountains, right next door to the entrance of the Disney & PIXAR Short Film Festival.

Some helpful planning information: don’t visit this early. The meet and greet is open only to Disney VISA card members from 1PM to 7PM daily. When we first went at 2pm, there was a 30 minute wait to meet Mickey and Goofy. When we returned at 5:30PM, we were the only people other than the cast members and characters in the building.

The interior is gorgeous. If you have time, please check out the video walkthrough below (featuring a pretty cute interaction with Mickey and Goofy):

While the space isn’t very big, the queue utilizes what little space it has quite well. It may be a character experience, but it is one of the things that in the park that most embodies what Future World is (as far as design goes).

These colorful Spaceship Earth panels will play music when you hold your hand to them. It’s very subtle, but similarly to the Stepping Tones inside of the ImageWorks, another instrument will kick-in as you touch them.

These mirror effects are simple, but very effective and fit the theme nicely.

Icons of Future World decorate the flat walls in the experience.

Guests then wait here until they are taken to meet Mickey and Goofy.

The new Disney VISA card member meet at greet at Epcot is a vast improvement over the original space and is sure to bring a smile to average guests and hardcore EPCOT Center fans alike.

PHOTOS & VIDEO: New Minnie Mouse Meet & Greet at Studios Offers Fun References for Disney Fans

Very quietly over the last few weeks, a new meet and greet was constructed inside the Magic of Disney Animation at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Eventually planned to be a FastPass+ only meet and greet experience, there is a new place to meet Minnie Mouse between the Mickey Mouse and Wreck-It Ralph meet and greets already located inside. Let’s take a look at this new location (previously just a bank of interactive game kiosks):

The meet and greet is labeled as the Drawing Room

Once in the queue, there are some framed pieces representing fictional films Minnie Mouse has been in and some props featuring some of her friends

Hollywood Brown Derby style caricatures on the wall

The movie posters are fantastic, we hope they will sell them in the stores at some point

Posters for Minnie Poppins, The Jungle Cruise, and Squakin’ In The Rain

The Jungle Cruise poster has nods to Imagineers Harper Goff and Bill Evans… it’s also playing at the Theater of the Stars

Interestingly, this is a Spanish poster

Some DuckTales characters referenced here

Casamousa…

A cool reference to Frank and Ollie, two of the Nine Old Men

More cariactures

My personal favorite is Mouse Pacific, featuring the Adventureland buildings and the Little Orange Bird

Some of the names referenced are a combination of Disney legends and Tiki Room bird names

Another neat poster

Minnie’s room is labeled as Dressing Room 2

The roof is gorgeous in the meet and greet

The carpet is great too

Some awesome blakc and white photos of Minnie Mouse around the room

The Golden Mickeys is a show on the Disney Cruise Line and at Hong Kong Disneyland, the date of the ceremony on the poster even marks the opening day of Hong Kong Disneyland

Minnie has several Golden Mickeys and other awards on her shelves

The awards reference the films in the queue

Behind Minnie is jewelry and perfume

The backdrop is really nice

Disneyland Visitors to Meet and Greet With THOR This Fall

This year, Disneyland has given visitors an up-close look at the technology of Iron Man at Innoventions. Continuing with that precedent, the park announced this week that Thor from the upcoming Thor: The Dark World, which will be released November 8, will be visiting with guests in Asgard this fall.

Where exactly Asgard might be at Disneyland Park is anyone’s guess, but we’re putting our money on Fantasyland in the “it’s a small world” area.

This meet-and-greet will mark the first appearance by a Marvel meet-and-greet character in a Disney theme park.

Stay tuned to WDWNT for more details when they are announced by Disney in September.

Disneyland Resort Turns Up the Romance During ‘True Love’ Week, All Part of ‘Limited Time Magic’

ANAHEIM, Ca., Jan. 28, 2012 – Love is in the air at Disneyland Resort as fairy tale princesses find true love with their princes, and “happily ever after” becomes a reality. It all happens during True Love Week February 11-17, 2013 at Disneyland Resort.

The weeklong love fest is part of “Limited Time Magic” at Disney Parks, where each week in 2013 guests will be treated to a sprinkling of Disney magic, with fun and surprises that enhance their vacation memories.

During True Love Week, a tapestry of romance is woven throughout the resort — from special entertainment and limited-edition Valentine’s merchandise to candlelit dinners for two and new, themed photo locations offering encounters with beloved Disney sweethearts – all for a limited-time only.

The weeklong event celebrates the love of friends and family, and invites couples to rekindle the flame. Here is the lineup:

  • Romantic Setting: Guests will feel the romance at every turn, as heart-shaped signage and sweetheart-themed décor adorn Disneyland Park, making it an ideal place to celebrate Valentine’s week.
  • Blushing Castle: At dusk, hues of red and pink will bathe Sleeping Beauty Castle, with projections of flowers and hearts.
  • Floral Heart: A giant floral heart makes a sweet setting for a Valentine photo, in Town Square, Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland.
  • Valentine Wishes: Flowers, garlands and decorative doves will create a second ideal location around Snow White Wishing Well near Sleeping Beauty Castle. At night, magical lighting adds a romantic touch to the wishing well and Snow White Grotto.
  • Disneyland Sweethearts: Also near Town Square, guests will find a photo location with resident Disneyland sweethearts – Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Daisy Duck.
  • Dinners for Two: Romantic dinners for two with prix fixe menus will be offered at select restaurants during the most romantic week of the year.  Specially-created menus at Blue Bayou and Café Orleans in Disneyland, Carthay Circle Restaurant in Disney California Adventure Park, Steakhouse 55 at the Disneyland Hotel or Napa Rose in Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel make    ideal choices for a romantic evening. To book call 714-781-DINE (714-781-3463).
  • Cupcake Lovers: Chefs have prepared a specially themed Valentine’s dessert: a chocolate cupcake with raspberry mousse filling and dark chocolate mousse frosting. It will be available at Jolly Holiday Bakery Café in Disneyland, Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Café and Pacific Wharf Café in Disney California Adventure, and Disneyland Hotel Coffee House.
  • Valentine’s-themed Takeaways: Limited-edition pins, plush, newly-designed apparel and Vinylmations will be available at select merchandise locations.
  • Ears for your Sweetheart: The classic Disneyland ear hat gets a total glitz makeover just in time for the most romantic time of the year. It will dazzle your Valentine and become the most sophisticated pair of ears in your collection.
  • Royal Romance:  Guests will enjoy a rare opportunity to get photos of Disney Princes as they escort their Princesses along The Royal Walk in Fantasyland. In New Orleans Square, guests will find another pair of sweethearts, Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen.
  • In Search of True Love: Guests may also encounter the Wandering Wallflowers, in search of “true love.”

The Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla., will celebrate True Love week with similar in-park offerings. VisitDisneyworld.com for details.
