| Alaska DLC
We’ve already seen this is great detail at This is available aboard the Disney Wonder. |
Update: 9/21/11 All these figures will be on ships in September.
We found some more DCL exclusive figures. All these, and the previously shown characters set of DCL 3″ Vinylmation will be Open Edition. Meaning they will be on the ships for a time to come. We asked if they will be available at the Disney Store Online’s DCL section… the answer was probably not.
Each of this trio represents the individual ships: Magic, Wonder, Dream. They will Open edition and sold on the Cruise ships for a time to come.
Aquaduck Donald! We have seen concept art, but this looks amazing!!! He is siting in an inner tube. The tube looks like Goofy’s from Have a Laugh. And you can see his feet popping over the raft like he is seated in it. Spectacular!!! This will also be Open Edition on DCL ships.
This Open Edition DCL exclusive looks like a Castaway Cay depiction maybe? Or just a nice vacation. With Mickey resting in a hammock on the body, the head has a bright yellow sun and the shadows of palm trees against it.
Update: 8/29/11 IMPORTANT – Check out more details and HQ photos on our updated DCL 2011 Explained Page.
Update: 9/21/11 All these DCL vinyls will be on ships in September.
A ton of great DCL Vinylmation on the way. We know about Aqua Duck Donald. At D23 they unveiled a vinyl specific for each ship… the Magic, Dream and Wonder. And they also had on display these 7 figures. It’s classic Disney characters all dressed up and ready to set sail.

Mickey actually has an accessory hat. And if this one looks familiar, we saw him pop up on eBay by one of those Hong Kong sellers.

We just want to put a warning out there to Vinylmation collectors. We advise you DO NOT purchase Vinylmation from eBay seller MAXTOYSHOPS. This is the seller from Hong Kong that has come up recently with some sketchy items for sale (Alice in Wonderland, Darkwing Duck). His items, by all accounts, are not legitamite. They are scuffed, with out packaging or accesories and some are being sold before being officially released. These are NOT pre-sales. According to Disney, they are illegitamate sales. You are not getting an official product. They are also selling fake combo vinylmation. Heads and body’s from various figures mixed together. We must band together, get the word out and boycott sellers like this to police our own hobby and keep the market clean. We understand, it is tempting to pick up some of these figures before release, but they are not legit. (I would also be wary of the listings of released stuff) As of 6/16/11, he has a number of figures for sale that have not been released yet. These include but are not limited to:
| Bonkers D. Bobcat Disney Afternoons Series by Christopher Chapman Obviously from the Bonkers cartoon, I for one and excited about this combo. But please wait until it is released. I highly doubt these “dumpster dive” pieces are included in the LE 1000. And this HK seller sells them as singles, no packaging. |

Fall Apart Rabbit
Disney Afternoons Series
by Christopher Chapman
Also from the Bonkers cartoon, the design looks great, so again, I am excited. But this seller’s figures are cosmetically flawed.

Captain Mickey
Disney Cruise Line
by Maria Clapsis
The Captain must have fell overboard and this seller picked him up. He is NOT released yet as of 6/16/11. Again, a very scuffed up piece.

Darkwing Duck
Disney Afternoons Series
by Christopher Chapman
This one falls into a different category… announced, but not released. Take a look… no hat, lots of scuff marks.

FAKE COMBO
Here is an example of a fake combo. Beware! This is NOT a variant. If you have any questions about what you are buying, check our Released Series pages or email us. This is a combo from a Japan Exclusive Pirate Mickey head and the Driver’s body from Racecar 9/3 Urban 5 Combo by Eric Cazatt.

Please spread this message to all your Vinylmation Collecting friends.
Disney says the best kept secret is their vacation club, I’m beginning to think it’s Vinylmation. We knew about the 9″ Disney Dream figure, the Captain Donald 3 figure set (first pics of the Jr are later in this post!) and the Donald Aqua Duck. But it looks like cruisers on the Disney Dream’s Maiden Voyage were also treated to this:
A few months back, we showed you a peak of some new Disney Cruise Line Vinylmation. One among the bunch was a figure available aboard the Disney Magic on the new Mediterranean Cruise. We didn’t really get a good look at it in the display case, but Vinylmation World has posted some great turnaround pics of this new DCL piece that one of their readers sent in.

The box design is a bit different than normal, tapering off at the bottom. On the front you can see the blue sky with some clouds in the head and birds in the ear. On the body, it has a blue mosaic pattern that reminds me of a Greek-like style.

The back says “Mediterranean 2011” to commemorate the new cruise. It also has an outline of the Disney Magic on the base of the head. There is a bird in one ear and that same blue mosaic pattern continued onto the back of the body. This figure, compared to Admiral Donald, Day / Night cruise, Alaska or even Mexico is a bit underwhelming. But the colors fit the destination and the outline of the ship is a nice touch.
