PHOTO REPORT: Magic Kingdom 10/31/17 (MARVEL Invasion, New Princess & Tinker Bell Merchandise, Halloween Party, Club 33, ETC.)

Our latest photo report brings us to the Magic Kingdom for one last look at the Halloween season before Christmas settles in next week.

Welcome to the Magic Kingdom

 width=

The last Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Part is on November 1st, and then it’s full speed to the Christmas season at the park.

 width=

A section of the Emporium is still behind tarps.

 width=

Items in the Vera Bradley Alice in Wonderland collection are buy one, get one 50% off at Uptown Jewelers.

 width=

 width=

The Little Mermaid collection is also available here.

 width=

A smaller version of The Dress Shop has opened towards Casey’s Corner. Many of the dresses, purses, and more from the Disney Springs shop can be found here now.

 width=

For some reason, this limited release shirt from ShopDisney is being sold in the parks concurrently. The location makes sense as this space was the House of Magic many years ago. Hopefully, more limited release shirts like this get released at the parks as well. Sadly, the matching MagicBand is online only.

 width=

The more confusing part is putting the shirt in a window that’s currently boarded up and no one can see…

 width=

 width=

 width=

Even though a few parties remain, any guest at the Magic Kingdom can now buy select items from the event.

 width=

 width=

As I said last year, I don’t agree with this. At least wait for the last party to end or send it to the outlets. It takes away one of the parks of the very expensive party ticket.

The Club That’s Made Not for You and Me

 width=

As we reported over the weekend, work has begun on what will likely be the Club 33 locations for the Magic Kingdom, the remainder of the old Adventureland Veranda.

 width=

The path into Adventureland is quite narrow right now due to the work.

 width=

 width=

 width=

Some are speculating that this work is actually for a permanent Moana meet and greet, but it seems way too extensive for something so minor.

 width=

Giant sections of awning that have been there since the 70’s have been removed. This wouldn’t be necessary for a meet and greet and could have been kept.

 width=

 width=

 width=

 width=

With a little tree clearing, the patio would offer some unique fireworks views for Club 33 guests.

This and That

 width=

All of the trees between Be Our Guest Restaurant and the village had to be removed due to hurricane damage.

 width=

In fairness, it doesn’t look terrible since all of the walls the trees covered are well-themed.

 width=

We’re still hoping they plant some new trees, at least to cover this speaker tower.

 width=

Work continues on the outdoor covered seating area at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe. Should open very soon.

 width=

Pecos Bill’s has added an menu with pictures… it’s a window cling.

 width=

Splash Mountain is still closed for refurbishment.

 width=

Some new holiday plush for sale. Goofy’s sweater features bulbs that actually light up.

 width=

You can get the blown-glass Monorail ornament personalized at Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe.

 width=

For some reason, they have a Haunted Mansion merchandise cart out in front of the store selling accessories. I suppose this is to capitalize on Halloween Party guests.

Princess Apparel

A number of new Princess items were released recently, including this Snow White line.

Video Walkthrough of Town Square Theater

WDWNT Reporter Banks Lee visited Town Square Theater at the Magic Kingdom during it’s soft opening on March 30th and has a video walkthrough of the experience in both the Mickey and Princess meet and greets:

Town Square Theater Soft-Opens to Guests!

Town Square Theater on Main Street U.S.A. at the Magic Kingdom held some soft openings yesterday to welcome the very first guests to the new homes of Mickey Mouse and the Disney Princesses. We have a ton of photos from WDWNT Reporters Robert Ashburn and Taylor Martina to share with you. Keep in mind that they both made several trips through the lines at the new location, so these photos are presented in the order they were taken. Basically, you will see that we go in circles from entrance, to meet and greet, to entrance over and over again. We would have attempted to sort all of these photos together in order, but we really wanted to get this information out to you as soon as possible. Without any further ado, here is an in-depth look at Town Square Theater:

Wait times sign for Mickey inside. Don’t expect to see this wait very often…

Haunted Mansion and Princess Rooms Coming to WDW?

In a recent survey sent out to guests who recently completed a Walt Disney World Resort hotel stay, guests were asked about their interest in two particular vanity resort rooms (similar to the Pirates of the Caribbean themed rooms now available at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort). The following pictures are from that survey emailed to particular guests:

The first room is themed to The Haunted Mansion

The second room type is Princess themed

Will these rooms be built? And where? Stay tuned to WDW News Today as more information becomes available.

Brandon Struve’s 10/26/09 “Showboat Jubilee Debut” Report

Brandon Struve made a trip to the Magic Kingdom this morning to catch the “coronation” of Princess Tiana (Disney’s newest princess from the upcoming animated film “The Princess and The Frog”) and the official debut of Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee. The Showboat Jubilee will be performing 4 to 5 times daily from now until January 3, 2010. Here is a video of today’s events taken by Brandon, accompanied by some Disney press photos:

“The Princess and The Frontierland” by Chuck Mirarchi

article-3

This winter, The Walt Disney Company is going back to their animation roots with the debut of “The Princess and the Frog”, opening at the Ziegfield Theater in New York and the Walt Disney Studios in Los Angeles on November 25 and in theaters nationwide on December 11. Those familiar with Frontierland at Walt Disney World and Disneyland will see something familiar in the film… something looking vaguely familiar… the riverboat.

This holiday season at the Magic Kingdom and Disneyland Park, on the Liberty Belle beginning October 26 and on the Mark Twain beginning November 6 respectively, guests will be treated to a special experience, Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee.

Star Tours II & Fantasyland Expansion Press Release

I know it’s a few days late, but here is the full press release we were given at the D23 Expo concerning these two exciting new projects for Walt Disney World and other on-going “Parks and Resorts” projects:

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Jay Rasulo detailed plans for future lands, attractions and adventures that will be delighting Disney guests for years to come, at the first D23 Expo. Most notable among the announcements were the confirmation of an all-new Star Tours attraction and the largest expansion in the history of the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.

“Storytelling is the DNA of Disney dreams and we’re always exploring new ways to tell new stories in new places,” Rasulo told a crowd at the Anaheim Convention Center in California before taking them on a “behind-the-magic” tour of their favorite Disney destinations.

Rasulo announced that a new 3-D version of the tremendously-popular “Star Tours” attraction will debut at the Disneyland Resort and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2011. Based on the iconic Lucasfilm “Star Wars” films, the attraction will include immersive new elements that will take guests to many familiar places in the Star Wars galaxy.

For Walt Disney World in Florida, Rasulo outlined plans for the largest expansion in the history of the Magic Kingdom, vastly increasing the size of Fantasyland by 2013. Guests will soon be able to:

-Visit their favorite Disney Princess in her castle, cottage, or chateau to share a dance with Cinderella; celebrate Sleeping Beauty’s birthday with the Good Fairies; or join Belle in an enchanting story performance in the Beast’s castle library.
-Be Our Guest and dine in one of three enchanted rooms inside the Beast’s castle.
-Fly with Dumbo high above brand new circus grounds, twice the size of the existing attraction with a new interactive, three-ring circus tent.
-Journey under the sea with Ariel, The Little Mermaid, in her very own attraction – also opening at Disney’s California Adventure in Anaheim in 2011.
-Meet Tinker Bell and her friends in the magical world of Pixie Hollow.

Rasulo provided updates on the multi-year expansion of Disney’s California Adventure including the new “World of Color” attraction slated to open in the spring of 2010 and the addition of the 12-acre Cars Land scheduled to open in 2012 where guests will literally step into the town of Radiator Springs and its six acres of hand-carved rockwork.

Rasulo noted the progress of several other recently-announced projects including the three new lands coming to Hong Kong Disneyland by 2014; the Disney Dream, the new ship being built by Disney Cruise Line; the many diverse itineraries being offered by Adventures by Disney that take guests on 19 unique, once-in-a-lifetime guided vacation experiences; and Disney’s first family destination resort on the island of Oahu in Hawaii.
