Guests will celebrate the holiday with a special fireworks show, “Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky.” This stunning pyrotechnic production salutes the pioneering spirit and enduring beauty of America. On July 1-4 at 9:25 p.m., the skies above Sleeping Beauty Castle will light up with a colorful display of fireworks, choreographed to a striking musical score that celebrates the best of America.

In addition to “Celebrate America!” the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing Band is returning to Disneyland Park and will perform several times throughout the day on Friday, July 4. The band will perform along the parade route at 3:30 p.m., just before the “Frozen” pre-parade and the first performance of Mickey’s Soundsational Parade. The band also will appear in Town Square at 5:30 p.m. during the Disneyland Park flag retreat ceremony, as well as along the parade route back to “it’s a small world” at 5:45 p.m.

Finally, guests can see the full band in concert at Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree on stage, starting at 7:15 p.m.

Also on July 4, the water spectacular “World of Color” features a special, patriotic pre-show, prior to the 9 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. performances. Guests can “Glow with the Show” with special interactive Ear Hats that become part of “World of Color” at Disney California Adventure, and part of the “Celebrate America!” fireworks spectacular at Disneyland.

Guests may also explore their patriotic Disney Side by visiting the inspirational Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln attraction on Main Street, U.S.A., or by attending the flag retreat ceremony, held in the early evening each day at Town Square in Disneyland. Additionally, the patriotic super hero Captain America greets guests daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Innoventions.

Club 33 Logo Drastically Changes In Preparation for Re-Opening in July at Disneyland

As you are probably well aware, the very exclusive Club 33 at Disneyland closed back in January for a massive overhaul that will expand the private club far beyond its original borders. Club 33 will be expanding in size as well as adding a “jazz lounge” area across the street from the original location, having guests attending the venue use a new elevated walkway to cross the street just above guests in New Orleans Square. Members will also no longer enter at 33 Royal Street, but rather through the former Court of Angels area towards the very back of the land. In addition, the original logo for the club is undergoing a drastic overhaul…

As you can see by the new tickets that members of Club 33 will receive, there is an entirely new logo. This is the first time the logo has been altered since the club opened in 1967.

For those who may be unfamiliar, here is a photo of the original logo:

Meet Thor and See Treasures of Asgard in Innoventions at Disneyland

At Disneyland Park this summer, guests had the chance to virtually suit up at Tony Stark’s Hall of Armor, and recently we’ve learned that Captain America will appear at the Avengers Academy on the reimagined Disney Magic.

Well, here’s some more great news! Starting November 1st, we can experience more from the world of the Avengers, at Thor: Treasures of Asgard, in Innoventions at Disneyland Park!

While doing research on the “Bifrost”, the bridge which allows Thor to travel amongs the Nine Realms, including Earth, Astrophysicist Jane Foster has found that the Bifrost will open again starting November 1st, precisely in Southern California at Innoventions at Disneyland Park. Because of this, a new exhibit is being installed, called Thor: Treasures of Asgard. Here you will be able to view a collection of objects brought to Earth from Asgard. Afterwards, you’ll have the opportunity to enter a chamber where you will be transported to Asgard via the Bifrost, where you can meet the mighty Avenger Thor!

Special Eats Part of Monstrous All-Nighter Fun at Disney Parks

Unique food, treats and snacks are being added to many locations around the Disneyland Resort for the Monstrous all-nighter event and Disney is sharing a few of these items to whet our appetite.

Of course the Disney chefs had to get in on the Memorial Day weekend fun to kick off a Monstrous Summer at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World ResortMagic Kingdom ParkDisneyland park and Disney California Adventure park will stay open from 6 a.m., May 24, to 6 a.m. May 25, – which gives us 24 hours to nosh our way through the delightful bites.

We won’t give away all the ideas the chefs have planned, but here are a few:

The cupcake craze gets a nod at Gaston’s Tavern in New Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom Park, with a chocolate cupcake topped with tasty “Monsters University” sweets. And we can’t resist the “Eye Scream Sundae” at Plaza Ice Cream Parlor and Plaza Restaurant in two flavors – mint chocolate chip or strawberry.

The Launching Pad in Tomorrowland will have two theme drinks, Randall’s Suds and Mike’s Punch.

At the Disneyland Resort, tasty treats are everywhere. From a steak and eggs breakfast at Carnation Café in Disneyland park to a Monster Nacho Dog at Award Weiners at Disney California Adventure park, there are dozens of creations added to menus. We expect lots of guests will be looking for early-morning eats, like the breakfast pizza at Redd’s Pizza Port with eggs, chorizo, roasted tomatillos, mozzarella and pico de gallo. Blue Bayou is adding roasted bourbon shrimp stuffed with Dungeness crab mousse served with spinach, pasta and smoked tomato-habanero-artichoke sauce. Café Orleans has decadent bananas Foster French toast, or, if you must behave, fresh fruit with yogurt and granola.

For breakfast goodies at Disney California Adventure park, Golden Vine Winery Trattoria has a Wine Country breakfast with scrambled eggs, herbed potatoes, biscuit, bacon or sausage and fruit; or spinach frittata made with egg whites. For around-the-clock eating, the potstickers are back at Lucky Fortune Cookery, or head to Pacific Wharf Café for a hearty loaded baked potato soup in a fresh sourdough bread bowl.

Oh, there’s so much more, like the mac-and-cheese flatbread pizza with sun-dried tomato pesto at Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta, or the Monstrous Open-Face Turkey Sandwich at Flo’s V-8 Café (brioche piled high with turkey and topped with gravy, cranberry marmalade on the side).

Come hungry, and you can bet there are plenty of delicious eats to keep you going around the clock.

Attending a 24 hour event may be just cause for being tired, but one thing is for sure, you won’t be hungry.

New “Iron Man 3” Exhibit Coming To Innoventions at Disneyland

From Erin Glover on the Disney Parks Blog:

Attention Iron Man fans! To celebrate the upcoming release of “Iron Man 3,” opening in theaters May 3, an exciting new exhibit is coming to Innoventions at Disneyland park in California – featuring actual set pieces from the film!

Beginning April 13, Iron Man Tech Presented by Stark Industries will give Disneyland park guests the chance to see Tony Stark’s Hall of Armor, featuring Iron Man suits Mark I-VII – the same suits featured in “Iron Man 3.” And you will even be able to virtually “suit up,” yourself! Through simulation technology, guests will be able to see what it’s like to operate the latest pieces of the Mark 42 Iron Man armor, even getting the chance to test out its infamous repulsor blasts.

Iron Man Tech Presented by Stark Industries Coming to Innoventions at Disneyland Park
Come experience Iron Man Tech Presented by Stark Industries when it opens at Innoventions in Disneyland park April 13 – and then check out “Iron Man 3” in theaters May 3.

We also uncovered some additional information through a document released internally to Disneyland cast members:

  • The exhibit will run through September
  • Innoventions will not be closing for installation of the new Iron Man Exhibit
  • The Iron Man experience will not be replacing any existing exhibit in the building. (This makes us believe it will take up the space where Honda usually displays their vehicles whenever they are hosting a promotion at the parks.)

So, what do you think of this first installation of Marvel at Disneyland?

A Sneak Peak Behind The Walls at Fantasy Faire

From Erin Glover on the Disney Parks Blog:

Yesterday, I gave you a sneak peek at Clopin’s Music Box, an interactive element coming to Fantasy Faire when it opens March 12 at Disneyland park. Today, I’m excited to share a video of the installation of this piece, along with two other charming details: Tangled Tower, which is located in the center of Fantasy Faire, and – my favorite element of this new area – Figaro the cat from “Pinocchio.” Watch as Michel Den Dulk, Creative Director, Walt Disney Imagineering, tells us more about these magical features.
