Baseline Tap House opened today on Grand Avenue at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, in (according to the storyline) an abandoned L.A. printing company that once worked with the Walt Disney Studios in the 1950’s. Here’s a short tour of the new bar and lounge:
We begin with a video tour:
Baseline Tap House is now open from 11am until park close daily at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Beginning October 10th, Disney will once again try to implement a new stage setup for Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. As a result, the show will not be performed from October 10th through October 22nd, 2017.
During that time, Star Wars characters will be available as surprise and delight moments for Guests visiting the park.
Work continues on the new Grand Avenue area at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, with reports now indicating that the Baseline Tap House will open to guests sometime before the end of the month.
While the street itself doesn’t look quite finished, Baseline Tap House looks just about ready to open.
As you can see, signage is up, but a look through the walls reveals a mostly finished product.
For a better look at the site from a few weeks ago, here is a look at Grand Avenue completely revealed thanks to Hurricane Irma:
In the coming weeks, guests at Disney Parks will be able to preview scenes from Disney•Pixar’s “Coco” in sneak peeks planned for Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts.
At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the preview of “Coco” will be presented as part of Walt Disney Presents, where the sneak peek will be accompanied by a display about the production of the film. Guests at Disney California Adventure park will get to see this advance look at scenes from the film in 3D with special in-theater effects at “It’s Tough to Be a Bug!” theater in “a bug’s land.” These special sneak peeks are set to begin November 3.
In Disney•Pixar’s “Coco,” Miguel dreams of becoming an accomplished musician, despite his family’s baffling generations-old ban on music. Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead following a mysterious chain of events. Along the way, he meets charming trickster Hector, and together, they set off on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel’s family history.
You can fully immerse yourself in the world of Disney•Pixar’s “Coco” when the film arrives in theaters in 3D on November 22.
On the heels of the successful rollout at many other restaurants, Walt Disney World will expand the Mobile Order program through the MyDisneyExperience app to Sunset Boulevard eateries at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Here are the restaurants now adding the service as of September 19th:
The mobile ordering program allows guests to order at Disney counter service restaurants from their mobile devices and then pick-up the order when they are ready to eat. Check out our comprehensive review of the service to see how it works.

The Slinky Dog Dash attraction’s coaster train was officially unveiled by Disney today – National Slinky Day.
Slinky Dog Dash is one of two major attractions coming to Toy Story Land, a 12-acre expansion that’s set to open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Summer 2018. In Toy Story Land, guests will shrink to the size of a toy and explore the world of Andy’s backyard on two fun family attractions – Slinky Dog Dash and Alien Swirling Saucers.
The first Slinky Dog Dash ride vehicle makes its way to Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Slinky Dog Dash is a brand-new family coaster that is part of the all-new Toy Story Land opening summer 2018. Inspired by the playful dachshund spinoff of Slinky¨, the classic American toy, Slinky¨ Dog Dash will send riders dipping, dodging and dashing around turns and drops that Andy has created to stretch Slinky¨ and his coils to the max. (Steven Diaz, photographer)
Slinky Dog Dash is a family coaster themed as if Andy built it in his backyard using his Mega Coaster Play Kit and some of his other favorite toys. The attraction’s ride vehicles, inspired by the character of Slinky in the film, will send riders dipping, dodging and dashing around turns and drops Andy has created to stretch Slinky’s coils to the max.
Disney also released a fun video of the toys “unveiling” the new coaster trains:
Disney also released some “normal” video of the train arriving, as well as interviews with two Imagineers working on the project:
The second attraction, Alien Swirling Saucers, is designed as a toy play set that Andy got from Pizza Planet, inspired by the first “Toy Story” film. Aliens are flying around in their toy flying saucers and trying to capture your rocket toy vehicle using “The Claw.”
Beginning September 6th, Echo Lake at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be undergoing a refurbishment.
A photo of Gertie back when most of the park existed…
Now don’t worry, nothing is being removed. During this time, the entire lake will be drained and repainted. Dinosaur Gertie and Min and Bill’s Dockside Diner will also be repainted and adjustments in the landscaping around the area will be made. This work will continue through October 2017.
During the painting, with Min and Bill’s and Dinosaur Gertie will continue to operate as normal.
The sign, in a way, confirms that the One Man’s Dream film will continue to play when there is not a movie preview to be shown. The sign also advertises the meet and greet experience inside, which will continue to rotate with new movie releases.
With Hurricane Irma approaching, construction crews at Disney’s Hollywood Studios were forced to remove the tarps covering the fences surrounding the new Grand Avenue area at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, giving is a clear look inside of the area for the first time. So, let’s take a tour of this “new land” for Disney’s Hollywood Studios…
The patio of the Baseline Tap House looks rather pleasant.
Lights are already strung overhead.
Signage is already up outside, providing a look at the Baseline Tap House logo.
As you can see, the area looks like ti will be opening fairly soon anyway, so you won’t have to wait much longer to get a look inside.
Lots of pavement, which will be necessary to accommodate crowds flowing into Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
A large gate is being erected. This will likely be used in some fashion to control the line there will be just to enter Galaxy’s Edge.
An area with brick accents awaits some lamps to be installed.
A look straight down the street towards Star Wars Land.
Grand Avenue abruptly ends at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater.
A painted billboard is being created next to the Baseline Tap House.
The windows on the lower level of Grand Avenue are finished, but boarded up for the storm.
