Flag Day was last Friday, so we took the Vinylmation Flag series around the Epcot World Showcase!
Puerto Rico Rising 9/16/11
Update: 9/16/11 Puerto Rico flag released today at D-Streets… It will also be released at the Disney Store in Puerto Rico on October 4. The store is located at the Plaza Las Americas, 525 Ave Franklin Delano Roosevelt, San Juan.

Attention Puerto Ricans! Your flag will be added to the Flag set starting on September 16th. Like the other flags this release will be open window and will be priced at $9.95.

What Future Vinylmation Flags Would You Like to See?
Here at DV, we like to read things into Disney’s words. Hey, it’s fun to speculate. Well today, the Disney Store posted a short Q & A with Disney’s Vinylmation Product Developer Donald Ferro. The post points to more Flags to come! The first series of Vinylmation Flags was a 12 figure set consisting of all the countries in the EPCOT World Showcase plus Brazil.

Ya, they say “may”, but its fun to talk about. So what countries would you like to see in the next round of Vinylmation Flags? How about if they do states?
And the Artist is…
 Well, Disney has finally let a piece of valuable info slip. Today Stephen Miller posted a blog about his interview with the Disney Artist responsible for the Flags Set. For a while now we here at Destination Vinylmation have been wondering who the mystery artist behind this series is, and now we know. The mystery artist is Caley Hicks, a new comer to the Vinylmation front. Also of note is that Lisa Badeen designed the cool boxes that came along with the series. Nerds Rock, Price Wackiness and Disney Store Online Update
A few news and notes about today…
Cupid “Love is Blind” 9″ Holiday 2 figure from Q. Kimbal is available at the Disney Store Online (as well as D-Street in ORL and CA). Grab it while you can… LE 450. Retail is $48.95. Beautiful detail on this piece.
Flags 12 figure open window figures are at the Disney Store Online. $9.95.
WDW 40th anniversary open window 6 figures are available at the Disney Store Online for $12.95. Odd story here. That was the price at D-Street Orlando, but under the sticker you could see there was a $16.95 price tag. Well, when the set was put up online this morning, it was selling for $16.95. They have since reduced it back down to $12.95. It’s a nice retro looking set, but 17 bucks would have been a bit much for these.

A Trading Event at WDW was announced. March 18th from 6pm – 9pm at the Contemporary Resort. We will have more information on this as the date approaches, but mark your calendars now.

Both Disneyland and WDW will see the release of 9″ Park 5 Fantasmic and 9″ Park 5 Tree of Life. Also, the much anticipated open window Nerds Rock series. Here is a look at the Chip, Dale and Donald figures, as well as some of the Nerds Rock Disney merchandise as a sneak peak at what the other figures could be.
