Use the Disney Theme Parks as Epic Pac-Man Levels!

There’s a few more happy haunts around the Haunted Mansion thanks to an early April Fool’s Day stunt by Google. For a limited time, any Google Map can be turned into a playable level of Pac-Man- the 80’s arcade classic. Of course, since the paths of Disney Parks are laid out as streets in Google Maps, you can run Pac-Man down Main Street and around the hub of the Magic Kingdom! Have Pac-Man eat his way around World Showcase, just like you do at Food & Wine!

To get started, head on over to Google Maps and click on the Pac-Man button in the bottom-right. Remember, this is presumably only for April Fool’s Day, so don’t miss out on playing Pac-Man all over The Most Magical Place on Earth!

Disney Infinity Problems for PlayStation 3 Gamers

fb_meta_logoDisney Infinity launched yesterday on all major consoles allowing games to connect to a number of Disney universes and even create your own using the Toy Box Mode. Except, there was a problem. Gamers who bought Disney Infinity for the PlayStation 3 were greeted with a number of problems that prevented them from actually playing the game on launch date. The biggest problem came when Disney released a 1.01 patch for the game which locked up the network preventing users from connecting successfully to the game servers and even saving their data. The outcome for PS3 users was catastrophic. Users who would try to load up their saved data would encounter an error saying their data was corrupt. Trying to load Toy Box Mode would freeze the game up completely, at times crashing the console.

But there is a light at the end of the Infinite tunnel. Last Sunday night, Disney admitted to a problem with the 1.01 launch day patch that was released and recommended users delete the patch and play the game disconnected from any network. This would allow the game to run smoothly and have no more problems. The good news here is that the issue is not a hardware issue or even a game issue, but more a network issue with the patch overloading the servers.

This seems to be a quick workaround for PlayStation 3 gamers who want to play the game instantly without losing their data and crashing the game when entering Toy Box Mode. Disney is currently working on a permanent patch that will fix this problem. Disney Infinity launched Aug. 18 on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.

Disney Releases ‘Sugar Rush’ Game on New Leap Motion Platform

SugarRush4Disney Interactive has launched the game Sugar Rush, which is based on the movie Wreck-It Ralph, on the new Leap Motion platform.

Leap Motion is a new technology which allows users to interact with their computer in a real and natural way without a mouse or keyboard.

The way Leap Motion works is with the use of a small 3” controller that connects to your computer (Mac/Windows) using USB. Once connected, you wave your hands around the area above the controller and it will be detected on your computer allowing you to do practically anything. The controller senses how you move your hands the way you naturally move them. So you can just point, wave, reach, and grab. Leap Motion will recognize all these gestures instantly without having to learn any new gestures.

Cool, huh? Well, Disney thought so and released their very first game for the platform based on the movie Wreck-It Ralph. Sugar Rush allows players to create your own “sugar-filled” candy kart and race through 4 challenging speedways. Similar to Mario Kart, you’ll have “objects” that can be used against your challengers like sweet seekers, cherry bombs, and sticky slicks.

Leap Motion is available for purchase now for just $79.99 and Sugar Rush is available through the Airspace Store for just $1.99.
