According to Stitch Kingdom, the original LE 9″ Kidada from earlier this year is still available on shelves at the New York Times Square Disney Store (along with the Goth Cutesters Like You 9″). Weird….
DV Reporter Zoe was nice enough to take these pictures for us. Check out the front. She says it’s “even better in person”. It does look pretty sweet.
Here’s our first real look at the back side. Kinda of strange as Minnie is thru the hole on the front, but on the back she’s also thru the hole. The only other really noticeable part of the back is the Life is Sweet in the ear.
Here’s a look at the charm bracelet that came with the piece. It’s a bow. Not quite big enough to wear though, I thought it might come with a matching piece for the buyer to have.

What do you think of this vinylmation now that we have seen it in full? Worth the rush? There were only 500 total, and the online store sold out of them in about an hour. The stores only seem to have about a dozen each in them, and I’m sure most of them are gone (we know Santa Monica is sold out).
 When I went to get my Kidada vinylmation, I was the first person in line so they let me help open up the store with this Disney Store magic key! Very fun! 🙂 (I love this key!)  (Evil Shadow Zoe opens the store, Ed.)
I don’t think enough people knew about the release. A couple of more people came and they sold out. They only had 12 of the 9″ figures!

Our reader, The Playwright, was at the Times Square NYC store for the opening of the Kidada section of the Disney Store. Here are some pictures that were taken from the trip.
The first floor looks like it is still under construction, but as the sign says, “There’s plenty of Magic upstairs.”
This is the 9″ box from the front. We’ve seen this image a lot, but it still retains the “New Flavor” starburst.
Here’s the back of the box. Kidada’s logo is interesting. It’s got a Giraffe as a central part of it.

The 9″ was on display with Kidada’s other recently released items, the Wish-a-Littles.
They are pretty adorable themselves. According to a tweet last night, @evilosart also seem to like them.

We already knew they would be in New York City’s Times Square and online also! Coming out tomorrow! The Prez also stated the price to be “around $50”. Thanks to @lilsqueakrr for asking him!
Update: 5/3/11 DV reporter Zoe noticed that the website Stitch Kingdom (really great Disney news site!) found the pictures for the upcoming exclusive Disney Store Kidada merchandise including the 9″ Vinylmation.

Update: 4/29/11 After some digging, we also found this picture up at @meltdowncomics’s webpage: meltcomics.com. According to them, the vinyl will be exclusive to NYC stores! This tweet was also forwarded by @DisneyStorePrez which legitimizes it.

Rumor has it, this will be a Disney Store Exclusive released on May 4th. Looks like a 9″ figure. A bright, colorful design depicting what looks like pink ice cream on an ice cream cone. There is a hole in the middle with Minnie Mouse peeking through! Reportedly, the artist is Kidada. That artist showed up on the DisneyStore.com as well today as the designer of a new line of little Disney Princess collectibles called “The Wish a Littles.” According to this screen shot, this product is coming out on May 4th exclusively at Disney Stores as well.

We have seen one image floating around the web of what looks like a 9 inch figure! The head is hot pink with what looks like sprinkles and hearts. At first glimpse it looks like an ice cream cone with an adorable picture of Minnie Mouse poking her head through the center. (Adorable!) |
| This brand new Vinylmation was designed by Kidada Jones. Kidada Jones has been working with Disney for quite some time on the Disney Couture Jewelry Line, which I love!
Kidada Jones is the daughter of Quincy Jones and her sister is Rashida Jones which is also better known as Karen from The Office! Kidada has always loved Disney and when asked to create Disney Couture she created one of the best Disney collections to date. The perfect mix of fashion and Disney. |

The countdown to D23 is on! These past few weeks Disney has been giving us sneak previews at what we can expect to see at the D23 Expo. This is all so exciting. The first Expo in 2009 was SO much fun. I can’t wait to see what Disney has in store for us this year!
Today I found out from my good friends over at Destination Vinylmation that Kidada Jones will be on hand at the D23 Expo on Sunday August 21st at 1pm to sign and take photos with guests, as well as debut the new fall Wish-A-Littles.
I cannot contain my excitement. As you have seen in some of my past posts, I am a HUGE Kidada fan. I was so excited when I heard about this collaboration with the Disney Store, and now we are finding out there is even more to come!!
The last set of Wish-A-Littles that were released were, Snow White, Cinderella, Tiana, and Belle. Now, the next set of Wish-A-Littles that are going to make their debut at D23 are, Ariel, Tinkerbell, Alice and Jasmine. These figures look incredible. They go perfectly with the previously released Princesses. I am so happy that Kidada decided to include Ariel – since after all she is my favorite. I will have to personally thank her at the Expo!

Ariel My favorite. I love the way she designed this one. They all have that cute look like they are laughing and I love the small details she added to Ariel, like the flower in her hair. I will definitely purchase this Wish-A-Little at the Expo and maybe even have her sign it! |

Inside each Kidada Wish-A-Little there is a charm necklace. I can’t wait to see what each girl will have inside. Maybe Ariel will have a shell, Tinkerbell could have a wand, Alice could have the white rabbit, or maybe the eat me/drink me bottles; Jasmine could have the lamp or maybe even her kitty raja. The possibilities are endless.
I will be there in line to meet Kidada at 1pm; hopefully I will see you guys there!
I can’t wait to see what else will be available from the Wish-A-Little line when it debuts at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California next week August 21st.

Since everyone is talking about Kidada Jones’ 9″ vinylmation, we also wanted those who don’t already know, that she had several other things designed for Disney. One of the cooler sets is the Wish-a-Little set of Princess figures that includes a necklace with a special charm. They sell for $49.50 on the DisneyStore.com. There are four different figures; Snow White, Cinderella, Belle, and Tiana. Check them out. They might be good fill-ins for the Princess Vinylmation we haven’t even heard anything about yet!
