Disney has begun to release the Halloween merchandise for 2017, and the fantastic items can already be found in a giant portion of the World of Disney Store at Disney Springs.
Most of the old Princess room is full of Halloween and The Nightmare Before Christmas items.
The new 2017 Halloween merchandise features the Fab 5 in new garb. The simplifies and bright colors make the items stick out from years past.
I’m partial to this ceramic treat bowl.
It wouldn’t be Halloween without ornaments. Wait…
The two-sided mug is pretty neat.
The glow-in-the-dark treat bag is pretty fun.
The orange shirt is for children.
This grey t-shirt is for kids as well.
A girl’s top.
A pretty nifty popcorn tin.
A hot chocolate cauldron.
There are also lots of new The Nightmare Before Christmas items.
Some of the items have a Haunted Mansion flavor, since Disneyland has the Haunted Mansion Holiday attraction that takes over the Mansion.
How cool is this?
Jack Skellington as the Hatbox Ghost is only in kids sizes, you can start complaining now…
This wreath is probably just about the coolest holiday item I have ever seen. Not bad for $39.99.
We have already previewed two batches of merchandise that will be released to celebrate Epcot’s 35th anniversary this October (which can be seen here and here), but now we have even more of the merchandise line to share with you today.
While we don’t know the edition size or exact release dates of these pins, we do know they will be released on or around the anniversary date of October 1st, 2017.
The always popular hinged pins that open into three parts will be making an appearance as well.
The above pin and below boxed jumbo pin should be released on October 1st, 2017 (for obvious reasons).
The Spaceship Earth pin comes in the above box and will be rather large in size.
Among the other items being released are a keychain, magnet, and mug.
Epcot will celebrate its 35th anniversary on October 1st, 2017. No official events have been announced by Walt Disney World at this point, nor has any of this merchandise we have previewed.
Our latest photo report brings us to Epcot for the first time in a while, although I think the D23 Expo should bring us some news that will make trips to the park a lot more frequent for these reports…
The Calm Before the Storm
Vera Bradley has released an Alice in Wonderland collection at Disney Parks.
Dooney and Bourke has a new version of the Sketch design for sale, a good upgrade on the old, IMO.
Some new phone cases for sale. Disney seems to be favoring these hard plastic cases now, rather than those with the rubber borders.
There’s been so many new mugs released recently that it’s kind of hard to keep track of them all.
New to the parks is the “Love is Magical” collection, which bolsters some of the existing wedding related items.
Cars 3 merchandise is available at the exit of Test Track now.
This pretty neat souvenir cup can be found at various food and drink stands around the park.
A Trip Around the World
There have been a lot of construction walls around the planters and railings at the Odyssey for a while now. Some still look pretty battered like above, but some already have new floor lights in place.
Some of the grates over the lights aren’t even painted yet.
Some are finished. Either way, it’s nice to see them paying attention to this forgotten corner of the park.
Work continues on the heavily delayed Choza Tequila outside of the Mexico pavilion.
The exterior of the pavilion is still being repainted, I’m not sure how I feel about the darker colors…
The bottom portion likely givers us a taste of the finished product for the whole facade.
Another look at Choza Tequila.
A peek under the wall reveals what should be a rather pleasant bar.
I’m woefully behind on dining reviews, but I have one for San Angel Inn that I hope to have out soon.
For whatever reason, they laid a slightly updated map of Shanghai Disneyland over the old one. It’s not all that different, but maybe slightly easier to see because the overall image of the park is larger.
The Outpost in Africa is back now selling jewelry made from seeds and other natural ingredients.
I didn’t notice the “no photography” sign until I after I took this, but how will a picture of the jewelry hurt the sale of it? I understand pictures of art and then you could print them out, but this seems odd.
Our latest photo report brings us to Disney’s Animal Kingdom for a wild adventure…
NAHTAZU
The bar area between Rainforest Cafe and the entrance of the park was heavily refurbished. Looks like they are expecting to reopen it once crowds arrive for Pandora.
Pandora looms in the distance.
A look at Pandora from the Animal Kingdom bus loop.
I always make sure to visit the Babirusa on my way through the Oasis.
Rivers of Light Merchandise
Nearly every store in the park is carrying Rivers of Light merchandise currently. I wonder if the opening of Pandora will change all of these displays…
The passholder tiger shirt pictured is now sold out. They are not expecting more.
A very shiny Rivers of Light logo pin.
The light-up ear hat ornament is pretty neat.
The totem pole is a Made with Magic item that interacts with the show, but also can interact with other Made with Magic products. You can see the totem wand in action below:
A variety of other glowing products are sold, including a fan and a necklace.
The most popular light-up item seems to be this lotus blossom “glow cube”, sold with beverages at the Thirsty River Bar by Expedition Everest and several other bar locations.
If you would like a drink recommendation, the Khumbu Ice Fall is my personal favorite.
Other New Items
An Easter Mickey Mouse plush is now available.
A limited edition Easter MagicBand 2 was released recently.
Peter Pan’s Flight is one of the most beloved attractions in the history of the Disney theme parks. It seems odd that the parks have never really had their own full line of merchandise dedicated to these classic characters. Well now they do…
The Never Land – Think Happy Thoughts collection is now available at the Disneyland Resort and should soon also be flying into Walt Disney World Resort stores. There is no word as of yet if the items will be available through the Shop Disney Parks app, but items of a similar nature usually do.
The collection consists of a number of housewares, mostly made of ceramic.
This normal-style coffee mug retails for $14.99.
The bottom or back of each item has the logo for the collection.
Another mug features Big Ben and the children and Peter flying off to Never Land. Retail $17.99.
The coolest piece has to be this ornate picture frame. Retail $27.99.
This next piece appears to be a vase. Retail $16.99.
Decorative kitchen napkins say “Take Me to Never Land”. Retail $5.99 each.
There are also these reversible placemats. Retail $12.99 each.
Since the announcement of the MagicBand 2 back in November 2016, guests who dislike wearing a MagicBand have been clamoring for more information and to get their hands on the MagicKeepers to hold their MagicBand 2 icons. Well, I finally found the “MagicKeepers” accessories out in the wild while at Disney’s Animal Kingdom on Tuesday.
MagicKeeper accessories for the MagicBand 2
The MagicKeepers come in two styles for now, one with a bow to represent Minnie Mouse and another without to represent Mickey Mouse.
MagicKeeper accessories for the MagicBand 2
They retail at $12.99 each before tax or any discounts. A screwdriver is included in the package to aid in removing the “icon” from the MagicBand 2 and placing it into this device. The tiny screws are in their as well.
Needless to say, I had to buy one to try it out. My experience did not go well, but I did eventually get the icon into this contraption. You can watch me struggle with the item below (this may be helpful if you plan on picking one up):
Now, while recording the video, I do inadvertently switch the backplates go the MagicBand 2 and the MagicKeeper and then have some problems installing it, but I assure you this was not the issue. The two pieces are identical, and during the cuts in the video, I switched back and forth several times and could not get either of the backplates to go on. The hooks in the back of the plates do bend easily during the process, so be careful. As you can see if you watch the video, I clearly bent both backplates in the process.
Switching these around all of the time will not be easy, if that was your plan. If you are only going to do this once, well, then you might experience zero issues (as you could see I got it to work quite easily early on).
The MagicKeeper with my MagicBand 2 icon properly installed.
There is at least one other MagicKeepers accessory to come still, as seen in the publicity photo below.
The full initial line of MagicKeepers accessories for the MagicBand 2
What do you think? Will you be switching to the MagicKeeper? Buying it as a backup? Or are you waiting for different accessories?
Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival 2017 Passholder T-Shirt
The two annual pass holder exclusive shirts for the event feature Figment, as well as the Monorail and Spaceship Earth. Oh, and some flowers and such, those are kind of important to the event I guess.
Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival 2017 Passholder T-Shirt
It seems like we have been finding new mugs around Walt Disney World every time we do one of out photo reports. Well, Disney isn’t done yet. Today, they offered a sneak preview of even more new mugs coming soon to Disney Parks.
Several mugs of various shapes and sizes make up the “Mickey’s Really Swell Coffee” collection. These mugs include stylized images of Mickey and Minnie Mouse enjoying an afternoon together. The four mugs with geometric patterns look like they were transported directly from the 1960s, while newlyweds will be delighted to find new “Mr” and “Mrs” mugs.
New character mugs include Humphrey the Bear, Kronk from Disney’s “The Emperor’s New Groove,” and the Fairy Godmother from Walt Disney’s “Cinderella.”
Disney is also releasing a double-sided mug inspired by the Mayor from “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.” The Mayor’s removable hat is made from silicone. The Mr. Potato Head mug is inspired by the Toy Story Mania attraction.
Two new mugs from the Twenty Eight & Main Collection are on the way: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and the Adventurer’s Club.
