Full Preview of the Park 13 Combo Topper Released

November 22nd continues to be a jam-packed release day, as the Official Vinylmation Blog revealed yet another figure that will release on that date.  Today we got a full preview of the Park 13 combo topper, and it features the mouse from Mickey Magnificent, an attraction at Magic Kingdom.  This topper was designed by Maria Clapsis, and will release at the parks and online for $24.95 each.  Take a look at the preview:

Another great topper to add to the collection, this one features two accessories, a top hat and cane.  I also love the cunning expression on Mickey’s face.  Definitely one of the stronger combo toppers we’ve seen in a while.  And the bunny on the hat is a nice touch.  What do you guys think? Will you be picking this one up?

Regular (right) and Variant (left, clear) for Disneyland Paris

Walt Disney World

Disneyland

Walt Disney World

Disneyland Paris

Hong Kong Disneyland

Update: It looks like there are red hat variants. Could this point to a blind boxed figure like Food and Wine with a special number of variants?

Update: We took a closer look and here are the differences. Park Icons in the robes and Disney Park Logos on the back of the head.

It looks like this year’s experiment for 13 figures for 2013 didn’t work out well enough to try it again next year. Although, I can not tell from this angle, but I think each park might have a slightly different figure, which would mean at least four (slightly) different figures.
Did you collect any of the 2013 figures?

RoE: Park 13 and Combo Topper

Park 13
Expected release date: November 29th, 2013
8 figure blind box plus combo topper

Update: Park 13 Signing on November 29th, 2013 from 5 pm to 7 pm at D-Street WDW.

Mickey Magnificent is the combo topper. It will be released on November 22nd, a week before the expected set release, for $24.95. Which begs the question, what is the Tower of Terror figure we saw. Did they really show us the chaser first? And is he really the chaser again?

Below are more close up of figures we already know about.

Spotlight On: Craig Larson’s Mickey Jrs

It took a little bit of time, but we finally got to see the final, full series, of Craig Larson’s Mickey Jrs. This is an amazing series, perfectly executed. Check it out…
DV: What inspired you to do this series?
Craig Larson: There are a large number of vinyls I’d love for my collection, but A) I have limited display space; and B) many of my favorite designs are out of my price range.  Plus, I really want to challenge myself to work on small scale to see how much detail I could get done while still maintain it’s core design.  I had a few spare Jr vinylmations and thought “well, if other artists can blow up a 3” design onto a 9” (or 9” down to a 3”), why can’t I go smaller?” Since I wanted them to have a theme, why not choose from various Mickey designs, as there are a plethora of options/designs from artists I greatly admire.  I started with Paint Drip Mickey (PDM) and was so happy with the way it turned out, I did Oopsy and then thought why not do a trio? Turns out, I didn’t want to stop at just three, so I kept going. There are so many options, I already have plans to do a 2nd series, but after I take a break — holding a Jr to paint can REALLY start to hurt after a while, so I will be working on a few other things while I narrow my list down for Series 2.

DV: Which was your favorite?
While I like all of them for different reasons, I absolutely love PDM, Oopsy, and 25th Anniversary Mickey (complete with glitter).

DV: Which was the hardest to do?
CL: The Spectacle of Lights Mickey proved difficult purely based on figuring out how to show the original design. I actually did two versions of this one; one with larger dots and one with smaller dots. The Poncho Mickey took longer than expected as getting the proportion of the Mickey logo on the back took about 4 tries before I was happy with the size and shape. Runaway Brain Mickey had some issues, but that was mostly because I had some setbacks with his teeth/eyes looking right.

DV: Which one do you think looks better on a Jr?
Romantic Treats Mickey looks like a piece of candy.

DV: Are you selling these or how can people pick them up, if at all?
There are some designs that I won’t repeat as they take too much time to redo (Runaway, Poncho, Spectacle of Lights), but I’d be up to trade for Mickey (or other characters) 3” ones that I don’t have or other customs. Just reach out to me on my Facebook page and we’ll see if we can work a trade.

DV: How can people contact you?

As a special bonus, here is a look at several of Craig’s pieces next to their 3″ originals.

New Black and White Mickey and Minnie

Another hidden figure inside a video. Disney just loves to do this sort of thing. Go to the Sketch to Shelf video and watch until 48 seconds in. There you will find the above imagine. Now this does nto appear to be the “Classic Minnie” we saw that is going to be for sale at D23, however the video says these are D23 items. Interesting….

What do you think? I personally really enjoy the fancy Mickey. I’m gonna have to try to get one of those for myself!

RoE: Disney’s Animal Kingdom Tee Shirt Based Combos

Disney’s Animal Kingdom
LE 2000 each combo
$29.95 each
Expected release date: November 8 2013
Walt Disney World Exclusive

Update: HQ pics added and box description. The box has a Tree of Life look to it. On the window is printed the phrase that goes with that tee shirt based set.

“Nice Kitty Kitty”

Now this set I can really get behind. These combos are based on Animal Kingdom shirts and it’s a perfect combination of Dinsey characters and other figures. This first one shows Mickey with a Lion. Awesome!

“Tigger, Is that you?”

Another brilliant choice. I remember this t-shirt and think the expressions are priceless. Let’s hope this is a bigger set then just two combos.

Any ideas what else could be done? With both these being released the same day, I worry there might not be more.

Nacho Finally Reveals His New Two Pack (And I Couldn’t be Happier)

Today, Nacho pulled back the curtain on a brand new Two-Pack that he has been teasing for the past two weeks. It turns out that his “fancy” Minnie and top hat Mickey are in fact a brand new New York City exclusive!!! Take a look at the full designs below:

These two figures are supposed to represent Mickey and Minnie heading out to an old time Broadway show. According to Nacho, the Mickey has a “soft matte finish”, while Minnie has “a light pearlescent finish on her flapper dress”. The top hat and flapper hat on the figures are perfectly over the top too. And it seems like Nacho is just as excited about these as I am. Being born and raised in New York, I definitely feel a strong attachment to these figures, especially that box. I love going to Broadway shows and getting all dressed up and making a fun night out of it, just like these two are doing! According to Nacho, this two-pack should be available now at the Times Square Disney store. It doesn’t appear that they are limited, and no price was given. What do you guys think? Will you be adding these showstoppers to your collection?
