Disney announced today, that they have restocked the Star Wars Series in the stores in Hollywood Studios.

They also announced a signing event with the artist, Mike Sullivan, for May 27 and May 28 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Jabba’s Hut. Be sure to drop by then to get your things signed, as well as talk to Mike.

For everyone in California, remember that he’s coming to your coast on June 4th.

Star Wars Signing with Mike Sullivan 6/4/11

As we found on the Art of Disney blog, Mike Sullivan will be signing his Star Wars set on June 4th, 2011. This signing will be at the Little Green Men Store Command in Tomorrowland, Disneyland. This will also mark the re-release of the Star Wars set in California.
Mike Sullivan is a great guy, and we had a lot of fun talking to him the night of the original Star Wars release in Florida. We even got him to sign our boxes!
Please note: “Limit TWO (2) cases per Guest. Limit TWO (2) items signed per Guest. We ask that you bring no personal items to be signed. Event and information are subject to cancellation or change without notice including but not limited to dates, times, artwork, release dates, and retail prices. Merchandise for signing must be purchased on the event day at the event location. Valid Disneyland® Resort receipt may be required. Paid admission is required to enter Disney theme parks.

This looks like it means that you will have to have the receipts and have purchased the Star Wars set that day, instead of bringing a set in from the past.

Star Wars Weekend Wrapup with Star Wars Chasers

If you missed all the Star Wars news from the last 24 hours here it is:

The crowd was out in full force last night as hundreds of people lined up outside of the D-Street Florida store to get their Star Wars Vinylmation. Nick and MC arrived at 6pm to check out the festivities and join the line. After several hours the wonderful cast members brought out several heat lamps borrowed from Bongos. At around 11 PM the store closed to set up and a DJ started to play outside. During the music, the DJ asked trivia questions for prizes. The winners got to pick Vinylmations from a bag. MC won a NBC Sally and an Holiday 1 American Flag. Nick scored a Buzz Lightyear Vinylmation.

Nick and MC were one of the first groups in, and the first customers out of D-Street. They instantly ripped into their box to find the chaser, a Darth Vader, and a Stormtrooper. They got Vader and the Stormtrooper signed by the artist Mike Sullivan (who was there from 12-2 AM).

Then the rumor started to spread that there was a variant somewhere in the cases, so Nick opened up his case. He was lucky enough to find the chaser variant! (Click on the mystery chaser to see a picture of both the chaser and the variant chaser.) Nick was the first, and as far as we could tell, only person to get the variant that night. Lots of people came over and took pictures of Nick and his variant. (In fact, as of now, every picture online of the variant IRL has Nick’s hand in it. Including the official picture from the Vinylmation.com blog)

We had a lot of fun and look forward to the next event. We met a lot of cool people in line and got some good trading done while waiting. Also we would like to thank the entire staff of D-Street Florida as well as everyone from Disney Vinylmation. Thanks to Steven Miller for creating the event, Donald Ferro for making the stormtrooper the extra figure, and especially Mike Sullivan for all the designs.

Now for some photos we have from this morning. Click to see larger.

Did you go to the event? How was it? Let us know what you think!

Please Pass The Vinylmation

Update: 10/31/11 The back of this figure:

Bald spot, turkey leg in pocket for later and a fork just in case. LOVE IT! (not fond of the price)

Update: 10/27/11 Disney’s Vinylmation Blog has confirmed the November 4 release date and the $54.95 price.

VinylmationTraders.com is reporting a November 4th release date for the 9″ Holiday 3 Thanksgiving Dinner Aftermath. This LE 800 figure was designed by Mike Sullivan and will be sold at both D-Streets for $44.95. (VinylmationTraders.com has $54.95, but $44.95 was printed on a card next the figure below that we saw at the D23 Expo)

It will be the first Disney 9″ figure released on the new 9″ mold. I think this figure has a ton of character and am very tempted to pick it up. What about you?
