BREAKING: List of Interactive Exhibits and More Details Revealed for the NBA Experience at Disney Springs

While we have seen a few pieces of concept art and know that the NBA Experience at Disney Springs is coming Summer 2019, we know very little about what will be inside the West Side establishment when it opens. Well, at least we didn’t until now…

 width=

For the ticketed experience inside, exhibits will be distributed over 2 very tall floors, so many of the activities will be quite large and surround a “Center Court” atrium area. The “Center Court” area in the middle is reminiscent of the circular Ventureport entry area that was in DisneyQuest, so it is somewhat surprising that they bulldozed the building rather than reuse it. Perhaps at one point they wanted to reuse the DisneyQuest building, but it just didn’t completely work out for their needs?

On the first floor, guests enter through the ticketing area, go through a entry tunnel, and walk out on to Center Court. Exhibits downstairs will include the Locker Room, Hall of Champions, Hoop Sciences, and a pair of large VR Theaters. The retail shop and dining venue are also on the ground floor, but do not require tickets. As you can see in the art above, the retail shop is to the left and the dining venue the right, with the entrance to the exhibits through the center.

The second floor will feature Pop-A-Shot, Dream Dunk, Big Shot, You Make the Call, the Dream Court. One of these experiences is rumored to utilize the simulators from Cyberspace Mountain, as they were maintained and removed from DisneyQuest with labels marking them as the property of the NBA Experience.

While we still don’t know for sure what all of these exhibits are (although some seem easy to figure out based on their names), we at least now have a list of things there will be to do inside this NBA-themed interactive playground come 2019.

Our latest photo report brings us to Disney Springs to see what’s new and exciting (or demolished) since our last visit.

Demolishing DisneyQuest

The demolition of DisneyQuest is moving rapidly in preparation for the NBA Experience.

It appears the building was thoroughly emptied before the demolition began.

By the time you read this, most of the building is probably gone.

The NBA Experience concept art is now on the construction walls outside.

The West Side

Work is progressing on Jaleo, the restaurant that will replace the former Wolfgang Puck establishment on the West Side.

 width=

 width=

It’s unclear how much of the existing building will remain, but a large portion is already gone.

During a refurbishment not too long ago, signage and the interior of the MARVEL Super Hero Headquarters store were updated.

The Edison

 width=

Supposedly still opening later this year, work continues on the long-delayed club The Edison in The Landing.

The construction walls are laughably short by this door, leaving a clear view of the facade and the construction workers finishing up the project.

We can now see signage for The Edison up on the building.

This and That

Work continues on Wine Bar George, set to open in 2018.

More items join the Comeback Kid collection of Mickey Mouse 90’s style apparel.

We found this new Tinker Bell hat for sale at World of Disney.

It retails for $21.99.

The upcoming Christmas dress is still on display at the Dress Shop in the Marketplace Co-Op. The Haunted Mansion tightrope girl dress occupies the other window.

 width=

The Little Mermaid line of home goods has arrived at the Marketplace Co-Op as well.

 width=

 width=

Work continues on Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire, opening December 16th next door to what is left of Once Upon a Toy in the Marketplace.

Frontera Cocina has some pretty awesome specials, we stopped by on Monday for $5 margaritas and they were pretty awesome.

PHOTOS: DisneyQuest Demolition Ramps Up for New NBA Experience at Disney Springs

With the concept art released yesterday for the new NBA Experience at Disney Springs, it is quite the coincidence that the most violent phase of the Disney Quest demolition so far began yesterday afternoon:

 width=

A view from the Orange Garage shows that most of this side of the building is gone now.

 width=

The question now is if any of the steel frame will remain to be used or is this a total building demolition.

 width=

If you look close enough, you can see the Ventureport area, with many of the rings that circled around it still in place.

PHOTOS, VIDEO: Latest DisneyQuest Demolition in Preparation for the NBA Experience at Disney Springs

With the NBA Experience on the way, the demolition of DisneyQuest at Disney Springs continues…

We have yet to see any concept art for the NBA Experience, so it is hard to judge what a lot of this demolition work is for exactly and how much of the building is actually staying.

 width=

For whatever reason, a number of squares holes have been cut in the building.

 width=

There’s not much to see on the bottom floor.

A lot of twisted steel is sitting behind the walls towards the back of the building.

The signage facing the outside of Disney Springs has started to come down.

No opening date has been provided for the NBA Experience at Disney Springs.

Visible demolotion has begun on the exterior of the former DisneyQuest at Disney Springs, as it begins its transformation into the NBA Experience.

The awning over the entrance to Disney Quest has been completely ripped off.

I love the the original colors of the building were under all of that…

The small awning was also ripped off of the DisneyQuest Emporium.

Some larger portions of the wall were also removed… or more likely came down with the awning…

No opening date for the NBA Experience at Disney Springs has been provided as of yet. DisneyQuest closed on July 3rd, 2017.
