PHOTO REPORT: Animal Kingdom 4/12/16 (Tiffins, Rivers of Light, Preferred Parking, ETC.)

I made a visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom over the weekend and took some newsworthy photos to share, so let’s take a look at what’s new and exciting in the park:

A lot of guests are actually paying the $15 up-charge for Premium Parking at Animal Kingdom

Meanwhile, the non-Disney/charter bus stop is finally nearing completion

What we believe to be a restroom facility for Pandora: The world of AVATAR visible just over the walls at the front of the park

Work continues on Tiffins and the Nomad Lounge

Barges carrying construction vehicles still out on the water for Rivers of Light as work on the show continues

The viewing area is ready, but the show is not

At Expedition Everest, the screens in the queue have been uncovered again

Not sure when, but these should start interacting with guests soon

A look towards Pandora from the heights of Everest

Out by Flame Tree BBQ, guests can find speakers for Rivers of Light that haven’t quite been installed yet

New rockwork hides speakers and lighting for the show

In addition to dog tags and magnets, guests can now own pins of these faux Star Wars attraction posters

The new poacher props on Kilimijaro Safaris are now being mentioned by drivers, stating that poachers had been caught on the reserve

The preferred parking section was still pretty full by the time we had left

I visited Disney’s Hollywood Studios on Sunday to see what was new and exciting regarding all of the ongoing projects in the park, here’s what I found:

Welcome to Hollywood Studios

Where the park map almost fits on one panel!

Additional signage around the park to help guests find their way through the construction

Pizza Planet continues to be ripped apart, now the entire awning is gone

New billboard behind Great Movie Ride

Disney is getting ready to launch more interactive elements in the parks, including these screens at Cover Story which should soon have guest’s pictures appearing in them

Temporary graphics fill the screens right now

The braille map of the park was updated

Don’t worry everyone, the carrot cake cookie is now at Sweet Spells…

Captain America Civil War merchandise has invaded Reel Vogue next door

Work was finally completed on Sunset Ranch Market and most of the seating area is now covered

Legends of Hollywood no longer has Frozen merchandise, it’s now a Star Wars store

Death Star sweatpants anyone? I’d make a thermal exhaust port joke but it would be in bad taste…

Even the table has a Star Wars theme

Work continues on the projectors for the new Star wars fireworks show

Work also continues on the new meet and greets for Olaf, Mickey, and Minnie

Concept art now up on the walls by Muppetvision for the Star Wars themed land

Even at this size, you still can’t make out a lot of the details for the new land

New Hollywood Studios ornaments available

There’s a few of these…

The new meet and greet facility from the ABC Commissary side

There are now ads for the Jungle Book preview on the work walls on Mickey Avenue

No visible progress yet on demolition where Toy Story Land will be

Maps were added to the walls as guests are apparently getting lost

The front of Legends of Hollywood has Star Wars posters and signage now

A new Peter Pan ear hat now available

I visited Disney Springs earlier this week and there was plenty of new items to see, so let’s take a look at what has changed in our latest photo report:

The Town Center will open in phases beginning May 15th

Work continues on the new bus loop

The Coca-Cola Store is coming along nicely

A Jungle Book photo-op is located near the AMC

Jungle Book banners up as well

STK off in the distance

Windows were finally installed last week

Work continues on The Edison

The Town Center as seen from The Landing

Work continues on the kiosks near Fulton’s

A fountain has been installed as well

Fulton’s is now closed to be turned into a new concept

The other new kiosk across from Fulton’s

The buildings near T-Rex Cafe are coming along nicely as well

B.B. Wolf’s is also nearing completion

As is the Aristocrepes

Walls up near the old bus loop, now in its final days

Custom MagicBands and phone cases can now also be ordered at Disney’s Pin Traders

Many new phone case designs can be found here

Work progresses on the new home of the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

Once Upon a Toy now has the new Hoth sand playset in stock

There’s also now a latex Dewback toy

If they can’t sell guns at Disney Parks, I guess these Boba Fett blasters will have to do

New Twenty Eight and Main t-shirt designs have been released at Marketplace Co-Op

This shirt features the original Spaceship Earth opening line but the current logo

More phone cases could be found at Marketplace Co-Op

World of Disney now also has sections that are dedicated to certain characters or brands

WDWNT Reporter Dirk Wallen and myself both visited Disney’s Hollywood Studios this week and have some newsworthy photos compiled to share with you from our two separate visits:

Fantasmic! has replaced Lights, Motors, Action! on the road entrance signage, while the Frozen sign has seen better days…

Reel Vogue now has a large selection of MARVEL merchandise leading up to Civil War

The projection towers and control booth for Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular are currently being constructed

The stores are trying something different, mixing pins in with displays for certain characters

Thought this new glass slipper pin was pretty cool

Spotted one of the new Star Wars attraction poster pins as well

There was no visible work on the Tower of Terror bar, which had me scared that maybe we were misinformed…

But then I found this behind the counter confirming that the desk had been cleared out so work could begin!

Even though Sunset Showcase is closed, a sign tells guests to check times guides…

New drawstring bag at Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster

A new tank top as well

Another look at the projection towers going up in the center of the park

The second tower had not gone up yet

For some reason, all of the Star Wars banners around the park got a new look…

I found the rest of the Star Wars attraction poster pins at Tatooine Traders

For some reason, they closed the gate by the exit of Muppet Vision 3-D

One of the planet lights is now down at Pizza Planet, the last few pieces of the old theme should be gone shortly

New DHS luggage tag

Also, a new fleece throw

You can still walk through the gate, but it is closed, probably to push guests towards the gift shop

Hard to see, but Writer’s Stop lounge has pastries again, as well as the carrot cake cookie!

Work continues on the new meet and greet homes for Mickey, Minnie, and Olaf

The queue for the Great Movie Ride gets pretty long these days, so the line usually enter here

So they very shoddily covered the Stand-By entrance sign up here

With queue work happening now, Toy Story Mania has setup quite the extended queue

Launch Bay not only has the new Star Wars 3″ Vinylmation on sale, but also the recently released limited edition set

Spotted some new Star Wars phone cases that could be made at Launch Bay as well

Also, 3 new MagicBand designs

I visited Disney’s Animal Kingdom on Saturday to see the latest progress on all of the construction projects around the park, so let’s take a look at what’s new and exciting in our latest photo report:

Pandora as seen from outside of the park

Some construction happening near the non-Disney bus stop in the parking lot

A closer look at AVATAR construction

Walls came down around the center of Discovery Island, out first unobstructed view in a long time

The Haunted Mansion POP! Vinyls are back in stock

Disney Outfitters is still closed

But outside, the exterior and pavement work is complete

Walls are up near the Isle of Java now

The Boneyard is closed for a few weeks for refurbishment

Tsum-Tsums are now available at Chester and Hester’s

Rivers of Light getting ready for an April 22nd debut

Decorative lanterns now being installed over the viewing area

The control tower is almost complete and it looks gorgeous

Scaffolding was coming down Saturday afternoon, it was all gone by park close

It will be nice to lose these walls soon

A new roof is being constructed for Flights of Wonder

The waterfront behind the Tree of Life was completely cleared this week

The drum popcorn bucket is now in stock again in Africa

Never noticed this, but ads for the Harambe Theater can be found in the original Harambe area now

One of the Discovery Island food booths recently introduced some new menu items, including Smoky Cheddar Grits

These were absolutely fantastic, I highly recommend trying them

I realized as we left the park at closing time, it might be one of the last times I’m ever there for park close while it is still daylight

Someday we can tell our children about Animal Kingdom and when it used to close at 5PM…

I visited Disney Springs over the weekend to see the new TAG store in the Marketplace Co-Op, so here are some newsworthy photos of what’s new and exciting around what once was Downtown Disney:

The Town Center bus loop should open by April

More glass installed on the facade of the Coca-Cola store

The Planet Hollywood sign was removed recently

The sign was installed for STK

Morimoto Asia now has a check-in desk near Jock Lindsey’s to help guests find the restaurant

A look at the construction of the Town Center

Work continues on the two small kiosks and new fountain near Fulton’s

We found out what the two food kiosks on the Village Causeway will be…

B.B. Wolf’s Sausage Co. features a brick chimney…

The new paint scheme on many of the Marketplace buildings is now complete

Inside Marketplace Co-Op, Disney Cruise Line Dry Dock is now located in the center of the store

TAG also has opened in the former space of Zoey and Pickles

The store is beautifully themed

Another look at Dry Dock, which has exclusive Cruise Line merchandise you won’t find elsewhere

World of Disney has a new paint scheme as well

The LEGO store is currently being painted

I took a quick trip to the Magic Kingdom over the weekend, so here’s a shirt update of what’s new and exciting around the park and beyond:

Much like MouseGear, the Emporium is now separated (for the most part) by brands

What started as 4 specialty waffle fries is now a menu featuring just chicken breast nuggets at Golden Oak Outpost… you can still get plain waffle fries though

New limited release MagicBand featuring Zootopia on sale

A smaller version of the classic Mickey Mouse big fig was released recently, just $125 and a more manageable size

The Town Square popcorn cart now has two registers to serve guests faster

Over at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, the new quiet pool has opened

I visited Disney’s Hollywood Studios over the weekend to see what was new and exciting, so let’s take a look at some photos from my trip, shall we?

For Valentine’s Day, there’s a special Lady and the Tramp cupcake at the park

It was cute and delicious…

I hadn’t eaten at Studio Catering Co. in years, but this sandwich was really, really good

Pulled beef brisket with horseradish sauce, surprisingly good

I got carried away with the cupcake

It was good…

Finding Dory billboard up in the Backlot

A green army man was hiding in a FastPass machine…

Stormtroopers on patrol

The wait times for Kylo Ren at Launch Bay haven’t been awful

Pretty much the same as Chewbacca all of the time

A Rey costume and BB-8 now on display in Launch Bay

Work continues on the new awnings and covered seating areas at Sunset Ranch Market

Signage remains up for Sunset Showcase, even though it’s closed right now (except for the hard-ticket Villains event)

New open edition Studios pins

The Moonliner ceramic figure is now in stock at most locations that carry such pieces

This display is in Celebrity 5 & 10

Dinosaur Gertie was actually open and had quite the line…

Work continues on the new meet and greet locations for Olaf, Mickey, and Minnie which were announced this week

The weather at the parks has been really fantastic the last two weeks

Work continues on Rivers of Light, which should soft-open the last week in March

One entry area for the show is out from behind walls

Some of the booths around the Tree of Life have some pretty interesting menu items, like these cheese grits with pulled pork that Dirk enjoyed
