Kungaloosh and Other Classic Pleasure Island Beverages Returning to Dockside Margaritas for Throwback Thursdays

Beginning Thursday June 29, you’ll be able to get your old Pleasure Island favorites, including the Kungaloosh, at Dockside Margaritas at Disney Springs as part of a special #ThrowbackThursday promotion.

Every Thursday from June 29 to September 28, the special Pleasure Island drinks will be priced at $9 (including tax). There will also be a Pleasure Island non-alcoholic drink, Emil’s Strawberry Colada from the Adventurer’s Club, priced at $5 on Thursdays.

In addition to the Kungaloosh, you’ll also be able to reminisce over the Bell Bottom, Techn-O, and Thriller from 8-Trax, Hoopla from Mannequins, Armadillo Punch from Neon Armadillo, Shark Bite from Rock ‘n Roll Beach Club, Punch Line from Comedy Warehouse, and Pleasure Punch and Funmeister (which were available throughout Pleasure Island). Some of the drinks will rotate on a weekly basis, but the Kungaloosh will be available every week.

The drinks should be available on days other than Thursdays but not at the special $9/$5 pricing.

Our latest photo report brings us to Disney Springs to see the latest progress on some construction projects, as well as a look at hundreds of new merchandise items recently released. Let’s dive right on in…

Welcome to Disney Springs

Work continues on The Edison in The Landing area.

Regardless what is going inside, I’m already a fan of the exterior of the building.

The AMC is all decked out for the release of Beauty and the Beast this week.

There is a photo-op for guests located just outside of the Dine-In Theater area.

The Mighty Festival is taking place this week at Raglan Road in honor of St. Patrick’s Day.

Work continues on Wine Bar George, which is supposed to open this year.

A few of the trashcans around Disney Springs have started to get these big, metal icons attached to them.

Pretty nice, huh?

I love the “stained glass” Goofy’s Candy Co. sign that’s on one side of the store,. but the other entrances still have the old, ugly signs…

New Things to Buy

The Wonderful World of Memories store is now just full of 2017 merchandise.

They also have some items from when they were a scrapbooking and stationery store, but not much.

A new Woody ornament for sale at Disney Days of Christmas.

Disney theme park merchandise has also created their own MARVEL ornaments now. They are heavy and made of metal (and very nice), but $25 each.

The Belle Beauty and the Beast MagicBand 2 is now for sale all around the resort.

A Frozen Ever After opens edition logo pin was finally released.

Some other new open edition pins…

Some Disney Princesses now have light-up dress play sets for $19.99. Elsa and Belle are available.

Marketplace Co-Op

Inside the Wonderground Gallery at Marketplace Co-Op, there is now this awesome ceramic coaster set for sale, $24.99.

This plastic plate ware can be found nearby at the Centerpiece store inside Marketplace Co-Op.

There is also a new Minnie Mouse collection.

Some of the Never Land collection of items has arrived here as well.

How awesome is this throw blanket?

A shot glass, to “toothpick holder”, as Disney calls them… It’s $9.99.

The lantern spotted a few pics above features the Castle on it. It retails for $29.99.

I still am in need of this Monorail toiletry bag in the TAG shop.

A pretty brilliant item for sure.

Some new Wonderground Gallery art and items for sale in the center of the store.

The Adventurer’s Club mug previewed months ago was finally released. It retails for $17.99.

For those who don’t know,Â this was once a club at Pleasure Island. For those who don’t know, Pleasure Island was an area of Downtown Disney with night clubs. For thoise who don’t know, Downtown Disney was what Disney Springs used to be.

A new Hollywood Tower Hotel shirt from Twenty-Eight and Main.

There is also a new Haunted Mansion-related hoodie.

The Big Thunder Mountain Railroad mug was released as well.

A few weeks old now, but there is also an Enchanted Tiki Room glass for sale.

As well as Shrunken Ned, a favorite from Disneyland.

A set of cardboard coasters can also be found, $14.99 for 24. I don’t understand buying coasters that are ruined after one use for this much money.

An awesome Wonderground Gallery Main Street Electrical Parade phone case is available at D-Tech on Demand at Marketplace Co-Op.

PhotoPass Studio

The PhotoPass Studio at Disney Springs is actively marketing the new Princess Storybooks you can have made.

Apparently, you can also get buttons and magnets with photos made here now.

A World of NEW Disney Items

Moving on to World of Disney, we find many more new items here, including this awesome Disneyland park map throw.

An awesome new coin tray for sale.

Several of the new Twenty-Eight and Main items were available here as well

CONCEPT ART: Significant Road Changes Coming in Preparation for Disney Springs

With the first parking structure nearing completion (opening later this year with over 4000 spaces), major roadwork around Downtown Disney has commenced as we get closer to the first phases of the Disney Springs project’s completion. Right now, Lake Buena Vista Drive is expanding from seven to 10 lanes and a second multi-level parking garage will be constructed beginning early 2015. Two pedestrian bridges are also planned that will help lead guests into Disney Springs near the current Marketplace side, while the other will offer access in through the West Side.

As you can in the renderings, the changes will also include a new I-4 interchange that will offer guests direct access to Disney Springs.

Disney also confirmed that The Landing, the waterfront dining area which will replace Pleasure Island, will indeed open to guests in early 2015.

Moving on to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, there is an ad for the “it’s a small world” animated series in the parking lot

After almost 25 years, the Kodak signage on the Darkroom has changed to Nikon

The ABC Sound Studio will soon be host to a preview of Maleficent

Some random Constantine wanted posters have appeared in the Streets of America

Some new Muppets t-shirts available

Stage 1 is one of the stores now selling MagicBands to guests, and they have a ton

Easter cupcakes are available at most counter service restaurants

Legends of Hollywood on Sunset Blvd. is also selling MagicBands

I managed to spend the last three busy days citing Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Magic Kingdom, and Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World and I have some photos to share with you all from my journey, so let’s tai a look at what’s new and exciting:

New 2014 iPhone 4/4S and 5 cases have hit stores

These have a new design as they are hard cases with a bumper

Disney’s Hollywood Studios once again had the stage up for the holidays and used the screens to give guests park information

The Legend of Jack Sparrow is now only available to guests via a ticketing system done on a first-come, first-serve basis. Disney’s thoughts are guests will be less let down that this isn’t a ride if they don’t have to stand in line for 30 minutes or more. The tickets were all gone by the time we got there on the 30th.

Specialty holiday drinks were available in the park

Comedy Warehouse returned again for the busy holiday season

Moving to Downtown Disney, the new barbecue quick service location at House of Blues is nearing completion

These two-layered t-shirts were found at World of Disney

It’s a mesh layer over a colored character layer

The Disneyland 4-D puzzle has made its way to WDW

A whole bunch of new charms for charm bracelets have been released, including the Orange Bird

The 4th and final food truck debuted at Downtown Disney, Fantasy Fare

I dared to venture to the Magic Kingdom for New Year’s Eve again this year…

This looks much worse than it actually was, it took less than 3 minutes to get through bag check

Some lines were long, as to be expected, especially at Starbucks

Casey’s Corner was offering breakfast due to crowds

The ham, egg, and cheese croissant was excellent

Golden Oak Outpost has re-opened and now has a spicy chicken sandwich, the lines were just too long to try it on the 31st…

Pirates of the Caribbean reached an 80 minute wait at one point

Work continues on the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

Friar’s Nook is open as well and now has gourmet mac and cheese dishes

There are 3 choices of different mac and cheese styles

And the mac and cheese with bread crumbs, both were very good

The 31st was your last chance to catch Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade

Prince Eric’s Village Market was offering soup since it was cold

90 minute wait for Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid

Cinderella’s Coach is out for photos through the 4th to deal with some crowds

The second seating planter by Pinocchio’s Village Haus came out from behind walls recently

A new sign was added to the facade of the Country Bear Jamboree in an attempt to draw in more guests

We dined at the Tortuga Tavern buffet that was only open for the busy holiday season and I have to say it was pretty good

Some great desserts as well!

The animated Pluto bank is now available in stores for $19.95

As always, free cookies and cocoa were offered at the end of the night to keep guests in the park during the midnight rush to leave

Moving over to Animal Kingdom, the Dawa Bar in Africa has moved opposite the Tusker House check-in desk to accommodate the eventual queue for Festival of the Lion King

A new limited release iPhone 5 case available at the park

Construction continues on the new Festival of the Lion King theater

All guests visiting Animal Kingdom can now use FastPass+ by heading to any service center or FastPass+ location

This is the first KODAK picture spot sign I’ve seen blank, but it should have a new NIKON picture spot sing in it soon

Some new Toy Story action figures made by Disney Parks have been released

WDWNT Reporter Joe Hogarty headed to Downtown Disney to check out the latest progress on the Disney Springs project and found quite a bit going on, so let’s take a look:

Heading into what is now still Pleasure Island

We expect concept art to go on these walls soon, but for now it is just Downtown Disney artwork

The Comedy Warehouse is now currently being demolished

Reminds me of DCA during the overhaul

Plenty of construction materials out on the Rock ‘N’ Roll Beach Clob/Motion plot

Walls up around what was Curl and Apricot Lane

The Mannequins building will remain

Walls up on the back of the building

Not much to see yet

The Adventurer’s Club building will remain as part of The Landing

They are also working on the shoreline on the West Side right now

WDWNT Reporter Dirk Wallen visited Downtown Disney over the weekend to check the progress on the Disney Springs makeover currently in the earliest stages. Let’s take a look at the progress thus far:

The taco truck is still out by Fulton’s Crab House

Pleasure Island is now mostly covered in construction walls

There are new walls in the same spot as the old ones at the former Rock ‘N’ Roll Beach Club site

Walls now up across from Paradiso 37

Curl has finally moved next to Splitsville on the West Side

The Comedy Warehouse side is completely walled off

Still no walls up at the former Adventurer’s Club

There are some walls up at the very edge of the West Side

No visible progress yet, but things are about to get interesting!

WDWNT Reporter Dirk Wallen went to check out the progress on several projects happening at Downtown Disney right now, so let’s see what’s going on:

Characters in Flight is still down

Phineas and Ferb and You is running currently at the West Side

Guests get super-imposed in the cartoon

A nearby merchandise cart

Work continues on Splitsville… does it seem like they are a bit behind to anyone else? They are supposed to open sometime in the Fall.

Not sure if these are new but these carts are located between Marketplace and Pleasure Island

Work moving slowly on the new exterior and bar at Rainforest Cafe as well

Some work is also being done on the exterior of T-Rex

Ads are already up for the D-Tech Me princess experience at World of Disney
