DSO Update: Hippo and Sunburned Man
Update: Thanks for everyone who reminded me (MC) that vinylmation.com said the 9″ Park 6 would be delayed back on the 20th. Thank you!
Update: We just realized that both 9″ Park 6 figures that came out in D-Streets stores today were also supposed to show up online. (See above screen shot from July 7th). According to accounts from both coasts, it seems like less than 400 were at the stores, which means that there are about 500 or more waiting to be sold online, but it’s not up yet. Weird….
Just a quick DSO update today. As of right now, both the 9″ Holiday 2 Independence Day (Sunburned Man) and the 9″ Animation 1 Hippo are available to purchase on disneystore.com. Sunburned Man is $48.95 and the Hippo is $39.95. Pick them up before the sell out!

It’s our highest honor to present, from The Muppet Show, Sam the Eagle, swooping into D-Street stores tomorrow.
From the pictures he looks really good. I love the little touches, like the talons on the feet and the single huge eye brow. The painting of the beak on the nose looks great from the front. It even seems hooked in front, which is an awesome optical job. Also don’t forget the most important part, Sam’s home country’s flag painted in the eagle’s ears. Sam is an American patriot and he wants everyone to know!
On the back the attention to detail continues. The talons show on claw in the back. The feathers around the head clearly point out that Sam is a BALD eagle. And check out that 3D tail. Very cool. I can’t wait to see Sam up close because I think he’s going to be fabulous.
History
Sam first appeared as part of the cast of the original Muppet Show pilot in 1975. He also appeared on a number of the Muppet Meetings Films. His role on the Muppet Show was that of show censor, worrying about phrases and acts that he found might be vulgar. Later he started giving speeches of the American way and other politically motivated topics. He often found out that he himself was in violation of the very thing he was fighting against (see the Naked speech).
Sam went on after the Muppet Show to get cameo parts in many of the Muppet films, as well as being the only Muppet character to be seen on the Jim Henson Animal Show.
Jim Henson designed Sam and he was built by Don Sahlin. He was mainly performed by Frank Oz.

Sam will be released at both D-Streets on Friday the 24th. The design is by Monty Maldovan and will cost $44.95. There is a LE of 1500.

Sam the Eagle takes flight
The first of the 9″ Muppets 2 will be released on June 24th in both D-Streets. Disney specifically said they would not be released online. The piece is by Monty Maldovan. There will be only 1500 of these and will retail for $44.95.

Other New Things You Can Buy…
Well, Goof Troop is sold out, but there are two other sets that just went up on DisneyStore.com that you can purchase. Two 9″ sets from Urban 6 were released today. The Casey Jones Moai statue is only $39.95 and has a run of 800. The Thomas Scott 9″/3″ Angel and Devil set are priced at $74.95 and there are only 1000 of them. And right now, they are both still available!
June 10th Vinylmation Releases
Disney announced a slew of information today, and one of the big things was the information of several vinylmation being released on June 10th.
First up: Goof Troop will be available online only from the disneystore.com The artist is Chris Chapman and the set has a LE of 1000.
The 9″ Urban 6 Moai Statue by Casey Jones will be in D-Streets and Online. It’s by Casey Jones and has a LE of 800.
Also available in both D-Streets and online that day, the Angel Devil 9″/3″ Urban 6 set by Thomas Scott. There will be only 1000 of these.

NYC Times Square Exclusive Liberty 9″
Update: 5/28/11 The Playwright sent us some pictures from the NYC Times Square Disney Store, vinyl displays and the new 9″ Liberty NYC figure. Check them out below. He also said there are no markings on the box that say Limited Edition. So this may be another Statue of Liberty Minnie that is around for awhile.
Disney just announced that this amazing, and patriotic, 9″ will be released on May 27th at the Disney Store in NYC Times Square. It’s designed by Jim Valeri who also has done the exclusive NYC TImes Square “Hey, Taxi!” figure. No word yet on if it’s a limited edition or not.

Disney Pop Vinylmation. For those of you who haven’t seen these yet, we will be posting a story soon.
The 9″ Urban 6 are Online!
This morning four of the 9″ Urban 6 Vinylmaiton were released in D-Streets and online at the disneystore.com. The Viking, Stars, Light Meter, and Love are all $39.95. All are LE of 800 except for Stars which is LE 600.
As of 11:20 AM (EST) all four were still available online.

Gumball Machine Release – 4/22/11
Update: 11:40 PM According to the vinylmation.com event page, Sea Creatures and Muppets 2 will also be coming out online tomorrow. So stay up late or get up early to buy some of these! (Thanks Playwright for the addition heads up!)
We just read that the Urban 6 9″/3″ combo of the Gumball Machine and the kid blowing bubbles will be released online tomorrow! The artist is Caley Hicks. This is a must have if you got the Gumball Ear Hat.
