Our latest photo report brings us to the Magic Kingdom on the verge of what is expected to be one of the busiest holiday seasons in its entire history. Let’s see what’s new and exciting around the park, shall we?

Welcome to the Magic Kingdom

An advertisement for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs 80th anniversary can be found outside of the park.

More 2018 merchandise is trickling in.

This Chip and Dale plush set with them hiding under an ear hat is just about the cutest thing I have ever seen.

SURPRISE! The sushi is already gone from the Cool Ship in Tomorrowland.

 width=

D-Tech on Demand in Tomorrowland now offers some Space Mountain phone cases you won’t find anywhere else.

 width=

They also have designs for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

 width=

The Dress Shop items have moved into Uptown Jewelers now, which makes marginally more sense than the House of Magic.

 width=

It hasn’t been the most pleasant week here…

Farewell Fountain

 width=

The beloved fountain near First Aid on Main Street has been removed and paved over, likely to clear a path for an exit bypass that will be used during the busy holiday weeks at the park.

 width=

I’m curious to see if it returns…

Mousecellaneous

 width=

The Mickey Mouse Ray-Bans are in stock at the Sunglass Hut in Adventureland.

 width=

To advertise the arrival, the location has a giant pair of the glasses… They wouldn’t let me try them on…

 width=

Yup, it has been cold.

Rose Gold mouse ears are plentiful in every park at the moment.

PHOTO REPORT: Magic Kingdom 10/31/17 (MARVEL Invasion, New Princess & Tinker Bell Merchandise, Halloween Party, Club 33, ETC.)

Our latest photo report brings us to the Magic Kingdom for one last look at the Halloween season before Christmas settles in next week.

Welcome to the Magic Kingdom

 width=

The last Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Part is on November 1st, and then it’s full speed to the Christmas season at the park.

 width=

A section of the Emporium is still behind tarps.

 width=

Items in the Vera Bradley Alice in Wonderland collection are buy one, get one 50% off at Uptown Jewelers.

 width=

 width=

The Little Mermaid collection is also available here.

 width=

A smaller version of The Dress Shop has opened towards Casey’s Corner. Many of the dresses, purses, and more from the Disney Springs shop can be found here now.

 width=

For some reason, this limited release shirt from ShopDisney is being sold in the parks concurrently. The location makes sense as this space was the House of Magic many years ago. Hopefully, more limited release shirts like this get released at the parks as well. Sadly, the matching MagicBand is online only.

 width=

 width=

The more confusing part is putting the shirt in a window that’s currently boarded up and no one can see…

 width=

 width=

 width=

Even though a few parties remain, any guest at the Magic Kingdom can now buy select items from the event.

 width=

 width=

As I said last year, I don’t agree with this. At least wait for the last party to end or send it to the outlets. It takes away one of the parks of the very expensive party ticket.

The Club That’s Made Not for You and Me

 width=

As we reported over the weekend, work has begun on what will likely be the Club 33 locations for the Magic Kingdom, the remainder of the old Adventureland Veranda.

 width=

The path into Adventureland is quite narrow right now due to the work.

 width=

 width=

 width=

Some are speculating that this work is actually for a permanent Moana meet and greet, but it seems way too extensive for something so minor.

 width=

Giant sections of awning that have been there since the 70’s have been removed. This wouldn’t be necessary for a meet and greet and could have been kept.

 width=

 width=

 width=

 width=

With a little tree clearing, the patio would offer some unique fireworks views for Club 33 guests.

This and That

 width=

All of the trees between Be Our Guest Restaurant and the village had to be removed due to hurricane damage.

 width=

In fairness, it doesn’t look terrible since all of the walls the trees covered are well-themed.

 width=

We’re still hoping they plant some new trees, at least to cover this speaker tower.

 width=

Work continues on the outdoor covered seating area at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe. Should open very soon.

 width=

Pecos Bill’s has added an menu with pictures… it’s a window cling.

 width=

Splash Mountain is still closed for refurbishment.

 width=

Some new holiday plush for sale. Goofy’s sweater features bulbs that actually light up.

 width=

You can get the blown-glass Monorail ornament personalized at Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe.

 width=

For some reason, they have a Haunted Mansion merchandise cart out in front of the store selling accessories. I suppose this is to capitalize on Halloween Party guests.

Princess Apparel

 width=

A number of new Princess items were released recently, including this Snow White line.

 width=

$36.99

 width=

$39.99

 width=

$36.99

$39.99

 width=

 width=

Sir Mickey’s has the new Little Mermaid line as well.

 width=

The collection also includes this hoodie, $49.99.

 width=

Jasmine top, $36.99

 width=

Aurora top, $36.99

 width=

Belle long sleeve top, $44.99

 width=

 width=

There are also 4 new Tinker Bell shirts. They range in price from $36.99-39.99.

 width=

 width=

 width=

 width=

A large section of Sir Mickey’s is now selling items from Olaf’s Frozen Adventure.

This pillow is exclusive to the parks.

It retails for $27.99.

Disney’s Making A Live Action Version Of “Snow White”

snow-white-apple

The newest Disney animated classic to get the live action treatment is the one that started it all, “Snow White”.

According to The Hollywood Reporter:

Disney is ready to take on another of its classic fairytales with a new musical, live-action version of Snow White.

Erin Cressida Wilson, who penned the adaptation of The Girl on the Train, is in negotiations to write the script for the film, which will expand upon the story and music from the beloved animated classic.

The movie will include new songs, with songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, who most recently wrote the lyrics for La La Land, attached to pen the new music.

Marc Platt, who also is working with Disney on Mary Poppins Returns, is attached to produce.

After the overwhelming positive response from what we have seen so far with Disney’s live action “Beauty And The Beast”, I would expect Disney to make a more faithful adaption to their own original animated classic. So dont expect another “Mirror Mirror” or “Snow White And The Huntsman”

Fantasy Faire Architecture to Extend Fantasyland at Disneyland Park

By Erin Glover on the Disney Parks Blog:

If you’ve visited Disneyland park recently, you may have noticed that Fantasy Faire is quickly taking shape next toSleeping Beauty Castle. Opening this spring, Fantasy Faire will not only be a home for Disney princesses, but it will also be a natural extension of Fantasyland. To find out how the look and architecture of this new area will be designed to flow with Sleeping Beauty Castle and Fantasyland, I went to the creative lead for the project: Michel Den Dulk, Creative Director, Walt Disney Imagineering.

Fantasy Faire Architecture to Extend Fantasyland at Disneyland Park
“My goal,” he said, “was that the new Fantasy Faire would meld over into the existing Fantasyland naturally.” He said that his intention would be for first-time visitors to never suspect that this addition came later than the rest of Fantasyland.

v
“I took a lot of inspiration from the classic Disney movies like ‘Pinocchio.’ There’s some reference that’s in the architecture to the way the backgrounds of ‘Pinocchio’ are drawn. I took inspiration from the castle – you’ll see that there’s a lot of gold finials and beautiful banners and turrets that are similar to Sleeping Beauty Castle … So it really looks like it’s all part of the existing Fantasyland.”

Another key piece of architecture in Fantasy Faire will be the Royal Theatre, which was the former Carnation Plaza Gardens Stage. “My main inspiration there,” Michel explained, “was a Gothic kind of fair. King Arthur Carrousel and all the structures surrounding Dumbo – those were the main inspiration for the theatre structure.”

We’ll have more updates on Fantasy Faire – including the opening date – here on the Disney Parks Blog in the coming weeks, so keep checking back!

Storybook Circus Opens Late March, Snow White Closes Late May

From Jennifer Fickley-Baker on the Disney Parks Blog:

Who’s ready for an update on New Fantasyland? I just heard that the first elements of Storybook Circus will open by late March, marking the first in a series of progressive openings for the largest expansion in Magic Kingdom Park history.

Among the first experiences to open will be one carousel of Dumbo the Flying Elephant, a re-themed Barnstormer starring the Great Goofini and the Fantasyland Station of the Walt Disney World Railroad.

In designing Storybook Circus, Imagineers were inspired by Disney’s animated film, “Dumbo.” When complete later this year, the area will be filled with multicolored circus tents and other nods to the film. The section will also feature Casey Jr., the famous locomotive from the movie, who has rolled into town, bringing the circus with him.

Beyond Storybook Circus and as we mentioned in a previous post, the Disney Princesses will be getting a new home at the location where Snow White’s Scary Adventures is today. The last day of operation for this attraction will be Thursday, May 31.

We look forward to sharing more with you throughout the year as our work progresses.

A few interesting notes to be made:

-The Casey Jr. Splash ‘N’ Soak Station is not mentioned, so now will be opening sometime after March.

-Snow White’s Scary Adventures is not supposed to close until Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid is ready to open, so it is very possible that the new attraction will open sometime around May 31, 2012.

-Soft openings for Dumbo, Barnstormer, and Fantasyland Station can happen at any point now as the project nears completion, mid-March is just the official opening date
