Hong Kong 2014 Mickey Spotted Early

It looks as though Hong Kong Disneyland is getting in on the fun as well.  We saw the previews of the dated 2014 Mickeys that would be releasing this year (along with their blind box variants) at the Reflections of Evil event back in September, and it seems as though Hong Kong beat all other parks out of the gates, as their 2014 Mickey is now available.  Take a look at the design below (photo cred: Vinylmation World):

As we know, each of these Mickeys have unique designs on their coat for their respective parks.  Additionally, the variants sport an all red clothed Mickey.  Will you guys be hunting down all 4 (or 8) of these designs?

WDW and DLR have a 12/13 release date and $12.95 price.

There will be a separate figure for each of those four parks that will be exclusive to that park.

Update: It looks like there are red hat variants. Could this point to a blind boxed figure like Food and Wine with a special number of variants?

Update: We took a closer look and here are the differences. Park Icons in the robes and Disney Park Logos on the back of the head.

It looks like this year’s experiment for 13 figures for 2013 didn’t work out well enough to try it again next year. Although, I can not tell from this angle, but I think each park might have a slightly different figure, which would mean at least four (slightly) different figures.
Did you collect any of the 2013 figures?

RoE: Topiaries

Topiaries
Blind box “Reveal/Conceal” series of 5 each only sold in combo topper form
Sorcerer Mickey on Top with a blind box of Regular Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy on bottom.
Expected release date: 2014 (I assume at Epcot Flower and Garden?)
Expected price: $24.95
Open edition

I LOVE the Donald. Also the use of the Minnie platform for the females is perfect. These look great in person but like most of you, I don’t love the purchasing configuration. In pins, Reveal/Conceal works much better. You don’t have to purchase the same revealed pin over and over. Disney has made it easier to complete sets by reducing them to 8, but this goes the other way. But if you are looking for just one or two of the characters, you should be able to trade for them easy enough. It’s not supposed to be easy, and that is the point.

Sorcerer Mickey. This is what I expected from one the other Imagineer figures. It looks good and I look forward to seeing the other 4!

Here is MC’s horrible artist rendering of what this packaging will look like. Sorcerer on top and one of 4 blind boxed in the bottom.

This week they added a regular Online Disney Store section, to keep listeners not in either Orange County up to date on what they can buy. We also answer a special question in the Mystery Mailbag section.

Farther around the world to “keep collecting” (Hong Kong Vinylmation)

The latest rumor (unconfirmed, but the flyer looks like it’s from Disney) is that Hong Kong is getting it’s own exclusive Vinylmations. They will be part of the 5th Anniversary Celebration called, “Celebration in the Air”.

The 9″ Castle Mickey is a Hong Kong exclusive. It will be a Limited Edition of 1000 and only available in the stores in Hong Kong Disney. The price will be HK$500 (~64 US$) and will be released on Jan. 21st.

The Sorcerer Mickey is similar to the one that came with our Combo Park 5s, except he isn’t winking, but his face seems to be the only change. The flyer claims this is out yesterday (Jan. 6th International Date Line thing!) and will cost HK$135 (~17 US$).

The most interesting, to me, is Dumbo! He comes with a cute little hat, and this is the first time we’ve seen Dumbo in Vinylmation form. Dumbo will also be released on Jan. 21st and will cost HK$135 (~16 US$).

If anyone is over in Hong Kong, we’d love some of these!

Here is the flyer we got the info from. Click to enlarge.
