Today, we take a short trip to a rainy Epcot to see what’s new and exciting in our latest photo report (and no, Haunted Mansion in the title is not a mistake):

Steps Toward Security

Emergency monorail stairs at Epcot

Work was finally completed on the new emergency stairs at the Epcot Monorail station. New safety protocols have required these additions at many of the monorail stations around Walt Disney World property.

My attempt at being artsy. This is as far as I can go.

New Merchandise

Some new Haunted Mansion art found in the Art of Disney, including these tiny stretching room portraits.

All four of the stretching room statues are now available.

Select items from the PIXAR Party are still lingering, available at Epcot’s Pin Central.

In France, a selection of Disney Princess shirts exclusive to the parks are available.

Tower of Terror as a park icon isn’t going anywhere anytime soon apparently…

I found two of the complimentary bug repellent locations during my rainy night visit to Epcot. This first one is on the bridge from China to the Refreshment Outpost.

WDWNT Reporter Joe Hogarty visited the Magic Kingdom and Epcot on Monday and has a number of newsworthy items to share with us from his trip, so let’s take a look:

Triton’s Treasures is no longer a thing, these space originally meant for a shop will now be a Disney Vacation Club kiosk

As much as I hate to say it, the sign is beautiful

There is a squid weathervane on the building

We believe this to be a reference to the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea attraction

Work continues on Seven Dwarfs’ Mine Train as we approach 2014

We can now see a small building rising near the track

We expect this to be the queue

We believe this to be the entrance

Looking good!

Frozen merchandise can now be found in the Emporium

Some of it is the same you can find at the Disney Store

Moving over to Epcot, Spaceship Earth is awfully dirty

Hopefully there is some way to get up there and clean it

Plenty of Christmas merchandise out in the parks already

WDWNT Reporter Dirk Wallen visited the Magic Kingdom and Epcot on Saturday and has some newsworthy photos to share with us from his trip so let’s take a look:

Work continues on the pavement outside of the Emporium

Work is wrapping up on this facade across the street on Uptown Jewelers

The Haunted Mansion no longer gives you a choice, if you go stand-by, you go through the interactive queue

Tarps still up at the former Fantasyland restrooms

The marquee and signage for Princess Fairytale Hall has finally gone up

Work continues on the Seven Dwarfs’ Mine Train attraction

Still a bit messy in there…

It’s looking better every day

Some new details emerging over the walls

While not open yet, the new food stand near Triton’s Treasures and across from The Little Mermaid is out from behind walls

This stand will specialize in healthier options, but will have 5 flavors of shaved ice!

Moving over to Epcot, they are still fixing up some sections of Leave a Legacy

Walls are up outside of Project Tomorrow, near Spaceship Earth

The seating area in Innoventions West is back without any changes made… seems it was just temporary office space

The Segway area is still closed with no signs of life or replacement

WDWNT Reporter Dirk Wallen recently visited three of the Walt Disney World theme parks and has a number of newsworthy photos to share with us from his trip. With all the D23 Expo coverage we’ve been dealing with, it has taken a while to get to this report, but better late than never, so let’s take a look:

No more Lone Ranger preview… it’s not really playing at many theaters anymore…

MuppetVision 3-D is closed for refurbishment

Sofia the first debuted at Disney’s Hollywood Studios recently

She has a nice backdrop for her meet and greet

Disney Infinity billboards are up at the Backlot Tour

Also, the 1-2-3 Mickey Mouse has been decorated to celebrate Planes…

At Epcot, work continues on adding more of the new turnstiles

This food cart behind Spaceship Earth has finally opened!

No more tarps up on Fountain View and signage has been installed

Moving to the Magic Kingdom, Halloween merchandise has been released across property

During a recent refurbishment, new boats were installed at Pirates of the Caribbean

They look great and don’t bottom out, but they have been getting guests a lot more wet than the old boats and make a horrible squeaking noise when they bump into each other…

The Magic Kingdom now sells the most expensive fruit ever… let’s end with this…

Contrary to popular belief, there is some newsworthy stuff going on at Epcot right now. Our good friend Jose Castillo has some photos to share from our journey to the park on Tuesday:

So, one of the Universe of Energy ride vehicles got a new plastic body with a light and dark blue color scheme

It definitely wasn’t painted as it felt like brand new plastic

Not only is the Pizza truck gone, but the tables and props are gone too

Jose got a new camera, so he took some artsy shots…

Youy can clearly see the new automated door that will act as the Turtle Talk entrance
