PHOTOS: Disney Previews New Merchandise Debuting at Star Wars Celebration, Coming Soon to Disney Parks
Today, Disney shared additional details about new Star Wars products launching this month at both Star Wars Celebration 2017 and at select locations in Disney Parks.
This month, Disney is rolling out a limited release, boxed set with four Astromech droid action figures inspired by characters from the animated series, “Star Wars: The Clone Wars.”
Additionally, three limited release action figures are making their debut including C1-10P “Chopper” from Disney XD’s animated series “Star Wars Rebels;” a two-pack featuring R2-D2 and C-3PO celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Star Wars: A New Hope; and a red Protocol droid, R-3D0, that was briefly seen in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
This will be the introduction of protocol droids to the Droid Factory line at Disney Parks. There has been no word as of yet if you will be able to build them in addition to Astromech Droids at the Disney Parks locations somewhere down the line, but it seems likely.
Other products include three emitters for the popular Star Wars Build-Your-Own Lightsaber experience at Disney Parks. These items were inspired by lightsabers seen in Star Wars Rebels.
Finally, look for a plush Ewok scout named Paploo as seen in Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi. This is the 12th character from the limited release Ewok plush collection, and was created especially for Star Wars Celebration 2017.
These products will debut in Booth 3463 at Star Wars Celebration, a Star Wars fan event coming to the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida from April 13-16, 2017. On April 17, guests may find action figures and the Build-Your-Own Lightsaber parts in select merchandise locations at Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts.

Yesterday at Star Wars Celebration Orlando, we got a special look ahead at all of the awesome Star Wars merchandise coming to Disney Parks over the next year during a special panel. Below are photos and video of everything of interest that we saw. Enjoy!
Droid Factory
The droid Factory line, started a few years ago, has allowed guests to build their own Astromech Droids at locations at both the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts. Disney has also released one-of-a-kind droids in special packs, as pictured above.
Several pieces were released at Star Wars Celebration Orlando, including this two-pack with R2-D2 and C-390…
As well as Chopper from the television series Rebels. Not pictured above is the red protocol droid C-3D0 from The Force Awakens which was also released this weekend at the convention.
Starting Friday, April 14th at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, guests will be able to build protocol droids at the experience as well, with over 70 pieces to choose from. This will also be rolled out to additional locations and at the Disneyland Resort in the next few days.

And bb-8 will be introduced to the line at the Disneyland Resort during the week of the D23 Expo.
While they wouldn’t show us exactly what it looks like, guests will soon have a Jawa’s Sandcrawler as a playlet for all of their Droid Factory toys.
Upcoming Star Wars Events at Disney Parks
Next weekend, the Star Wars Half Marathon – The Dark Side will unleash a new line of merchandise.
These Imperial Dooney and Bourke bags titled “The Dark Side” will be released at the event.
With the first event taking place on April 14th (with more likely to be announced), Star Wars Galactic Nights has plenty of goodies for guests to bring home. NOTE: They blurred out the mug and shirt to keep the logo a surprise.
The 2018 Star Wars Day at Sea merchandise for Disney Cruise Line was also previewed.
On May 4th, 2017, Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios will celebrate Star Wars Day with exclusive merchandise.

The 13th Ewok plush in the collection will be released at the D23 Expo this year.
Starting today, guests will find these phone cases celebrating 40 years of Star Wars at the D-Tech on Demand kiosks at Star Wars Launch Bay.
“I Love You” and “I Know” hats will join the t-shirts later this year.
Today, Disney showcased some brand new merchandise for the upcoming Star Wars film, Star Wars: The Last Jedi. This merchandise has been made to coincide with the Star Wars Force for Change fund, which is a charitable initiative from Lucasfilm and Disney that harnesses the strength of Star Wars to empower and improve the lives of children around the world. There will be a pin that has the logo and select characters from the upcoming film, as well as shirts for both adults and kids. Twenty-five percent of the retail sale price from each of these products will be donated to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF in support of UNICEF Kid Power, a program that uses the world’s first WEARABLE-FOR-GOOD™ to give kids the power to get active and save lives by earning points that unlock food packets for malnourished children around the world. These items will debut in Booth 3463 at Star Wars Celebration, which is a Star Wars fan event coming to the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida from April 13-16, 2017. Following the event, select locations at Disney Parks listed below will carry these items through the summer. Also revealed was new information on some of the characters and vehicles shown in the poster. From StarWars.com: As seen in the image above, the art features the cast of The Force Awakens looking stoic, along with a beautiful rendering of the characters of Rogue One. Alongside the Rogue One cast are a squadron of death troopers — the black-armored stormtroopers seen in the film’s trailer — and the first clear look at the brand new shoretrooper on the bottom left. Also on the poster is a new class of AT-AT: the AT-ACT, or All Terrain Armored Cargo Transport. BB-8, the newest droid from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” made a suprise appearance at the Star Wars Celebration Live Stream and completely stole the show.Check out this amazing technical demonstration video of BB-8: [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABzjUf3E_0c] When BB-8 was first seen in the first teaser trailer for “The Force Awakens” last year, many people thought this was just a complete “CGI” created robot. Nope. BB-8 is a fully functional working droid who appeared with the rest of the cast on the set of “The Force Awakens.” Kathleen Kennedy, head of Lucasfilm, also revealed that we actually have Bob Iger, CEO of Walt Disney, to thank because it was Iger that found the company that created the tech that brought BB-8 to life. BB-8 kind of reminds me of a cross between R2D2 and Wall-E and a soccer ball. Our Star Wars Celebration reporter Brendt is in Anaheim all weekend enjoying the panels, exhibitors and other festivities at the world’s largest Star Wars party! He just sent us in some great photos of some of the merchandise that we will soon see at Walt Disney World during Star Wars Weekends 2015 (May 15 – June 14). Disneyland 60th “Build a Droid” R2-D60. Will be made available at Star Wars Weekends as well as Disneyland’s 60 event. It’s not an LE item like they first told us. Darth Vader Photo Frame! Star Wars Weekends Autographs and Photo Book Disney is really getting in baseballs lately. We have recently seen a new Pirates and Steamboat Willie baseball… and here we have a Star Wars version. Star Wars Weekends Photo Frame Lots of new plush on the way including this Cheif Chirpa Ewok!!! A really cool Holographic R2-D2 in the “Build a Droid” line. We have been told to keep an eye out for more “Build a Droid” options and figures coming up. Yup, that is a Darth Vader Mini Snow Globe. Would be amazing with a mini Hoth scene inside. Star Wars Weekends 2015 mug seems a little bland. No cards on these, they seem like just props in the display case. Too bad, I was excited for a Rancor action figure. New additions to the Disney Character Star Wars action figure lineup. The Pluto as R2 from a previous series bundled with a new hologram version of Minnie as Leia! There is also a Pete as Jango Fett. He was in a previous series as Boba Fett. D-Tech Tie Fighter Pilot and Jedi versions are new this year. The 2015 May the Fourth and Revenge of the Fifth pins have an LE 5000 edition size. Next, we will take a look at some of the pins that were produced for Star Wars Weekends: Death Star Lanyard Medal The droid mystery pins look absolutely incredible. 9″ Death Star Vinylmation with 3″ Death Star Trooper will be sold during Week 3 of Star Wars Weekends. Star Wars Series 5 mystery 3″ set will include Jabba, Leia and Tie Fighter Pilot. There is also a Rebel Pilot Eachez. Limited Release Weekends Logo Pin Star Wars Helmets Pin Set Jabba’s Barge Jumbo Hinge Pin opens up. Boba Fett Slave IÂ Jumbo Hinge Pin also opens up. Box Set with 2nd Death Star Pin With Star Wars Celebration only being just a few days away, here is a first look at some exclusive T-shirts and hoodies that will be available for sale at the convention.
