Meet The New “Han Solo”; Alden Ehrenreich Cast As Our Favorite Stuck Up, Half Witted, Scruffy Looking Nerf Herder

xaasxsas

Alden Ehrenreich (Hail Caesar!) has landed the role of Han Solo in the upcoming Star Wars spinoff movie, possibly called “Han Solo: A Star Wars Story”.

From Deadline:

We don’t know if he’ll shoot first, but he has the job. Alden Ehrenreich will play Han Solo in Disney’s stand-alone Star Wars movie, confirming what Deadline reported exclusively three weeks ago. Sources say the Hail Caesar! star is negotiating to seal the deal.

The film will focus on Han Solo and also feature Chewbacca in their early days as smugglers. The movie will be directed by Christopher Miller and Phil Lord, who directed “The Lego Movie”. The movie is scheduled for release on May 25, 2018.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 Arriving Next Year

featuredImage.img

EA has confirmed that a Star Wars Battlefront sequel is currently in the works and is set to release next year. The new game is said to have “bigger and better worlds” thanks to having “the new movies to work off of.” This is exciting news seeing as the first entry only contained worlds from the original trilogy as well as one DLC level from The Force Awakens. With Rogue One releasing this year and Episode VIII coming in 2017, Battlefront 2 should have plenty of new and exciting settings for players to visit.

A sequel comes as no surprise after EA announced that Star Wars Battlefront has already shipped over 14 million copies. EA now has plans for three Star Wars games, with this Battlefront sequel coming next year, while Respawn Entertainment and Visceral Games work on two additional Star Wars titles.

Character Names:

  • Felicity Jones plays Jyn Erso , a highly skilled soldier and warrior.
  • Diego Luna plays Captain Cassian Andor , an officer in the Rebel Alliance.
  • Jiang Wen plays Baze , a freelance assassin
  • Riz Ahmed plays Bodhi, a rebel soldier.
  • ??? plays Pao , an alien who is described as a “fierce warrior”. Looks like another computer generated character.
  • Donnie Yen plays Chirrut, who is described as “a spiritual warrior.”
  • ???? plays Bistan, another CG-looking alien who is also described as “fierce warrior”.

Most interesting is we now know what computer generated character Alan Tudyk plays in the film, an imperial model K-250 enforcer droid. While most of the text on this page is filler, it does appear that the droid character was a former Empire security droid who somehow joins the film’s group of rebel fighters on this daring heist.

Another page reveals information on one of the Imperial villains: Ben Mendelsohn plays Director Krennic, a military director for the Empire. Yeah, not very much there but it appears that his job is to prevent the rebellion from getting the Death Star plans which should make him the main villain of the film even though a couple of these pages confirms that Darth Vader will make some kind of appearance.

New Vehicles:

The book also confirms some new vehicles on both sides of this war, including an Imperial TIE Striker and a Rebel Starfighter, “a versatile rebel alliance craft that balances speed with the firepower of proton torpedo launchers.” Both look cool and feel like they would definitely fit in during the New Hope era even though we didn’t see them in the original trilogy.

PHOTOS: First Look At The Millennium Falcon On The Set Of “Star Wars: Episode VIII”

The Daily Mail got their hands on some exclusive photos of set pieces from “Star Wars: Episode VIII”.

The most recognizable image is of The Millennium Falcon. At the end of “The Force Awakens”, we see the Falcon land on the planet Ahch-To as Chewbacca and R2-D2 watch Rey climb the Jedi Steps in search of Luke Skywalker.

You can see steps, but are these the same steps that we last saw in “The Force Awakens”? What seems out of place is the dark dead tree. I dont remember seeing that. Is this something similar to the cave on Dagobah where Luke confronted a version of Darth Vader? Could be just a tree but it looks out of place.

I’m not sure if these steps lead to The Jedi Temple that was mentioned in “The Force Awakens” or if it is just two different sets close to each other. It could be that Luke and Rey reunite with Chewie and R2D2 and journey to another area of the planet or the island.

This could be The Jedi Temple that Luke went looking for as told in “The Force Awakens”. We’ll have to wait and see when “Star Wars: Episode VIII” comes out December 15, 2017.
