Meet Stella Lou: Duffy’s Brand New Friend

 width=

Recently, the Oriental Land Company has let us meet one of Duffy’s new friends, Stella Lou. She is a fun-loving purple bunny who has a passion for dancing, and big dreams of performing on Broadway.

She would practice her dancing every day on the American Waterfront, and once Duffy met Stella Lou, he decided that he wanted to support his friend, to help make her dreams come true.

Most of her adorable merchandise will be available on March 30th, 2017.

Many fun Stella Lou decorations will be going up soon, along with a photo opportunity spot for your very own plush Stella Lou! This photo spot will be located in the American Waterfront,  with the S.S. Columbia docked, and the Hightower Hotel standing tall in the background.

She will start greeting guests with Mickey and Duffy by her side, just in time for Disney’s Easter at Tokyo Disney Sea, on April 4th, 2017 which is quite fitting since Stella Lou herself is, in fact, a bunny. This is only going on for a limited time and is said to be ending on August 31st, 2017.

Tokyo Disney Resort – New Additions Coming in 2017

On February 1st, 2017, Oriental Land Co. released more information on the many events and entertainment coming to the Tokyo Disney Resort in the year of 2017. Many of the events announced are regular seasonal events.  “Disney’s Easter”, “Tanabata Days”, “Disney Natsu Matsuri”, “Disney’s Halloween” being a few.

Some exciting new additions have been made to the many things that go on in Tokyo Disney Resort. These include “Disney Pirates Summer” and a Pixar themed event, a new show,  and additions to the Electrical Parade will premiere this year.

Here is some additional information on the brand new fun coming to Tokyo Disney Resort in 2017!

During summer of 2017, this exciting new Pirates of the Caribean event will be making its debut at Tokyo DisneySea. Captain Jack Sparrow himself, along with many other pirates, will be in their very own show on Mediterranean Harbour. Following a recent trend in the Tokyo Disney Parks, and will have tons of water spraying and splashing, letting the guests get wet and cool off during the hot Japanese summer. There will also be a crew of pirates providing atmospheric entertainment. Along with this summertime event comes new merchandise, food, and decor that will revamp Tokyo DisneySea into the world of Pirates of the Caribean. This event will also be making their way into Tokyo Disneyland as well, where there will be extra decor and atmospheric performances close by the Pirates of the Caribean attraction. With the next movie, Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, premiering on July 1st, 2017, this event is perfectly timed.

Pixar Event

There hasn’t been much information released about this event yet, but we do know that it’ll be a brand new Pixar-themed event at Tokyo DisneySea starring oodles of the most popular Pixar characters we know and love. This event will consist of shows, meet and greets, along with lots of special merchandise and food!

Additions to “Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade: Dreamlights”

A renewed version of the “Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade: Dreamlights” will be hitting the hub on July 11th, 2017. This renewed version is set to include 5 new floats. The first being Anna and Elsa’s Ice Castle, which will presumably be very similar, if not the same as the one in Paint the Night. Cinderella will also be getting a little more love with two new floats which will be Cinderella’s Pumpkin Coach as well as the grand ballroom with Prince Charming by her side. The much missed Beauty and the Beast float will be making a comeback after it’s departure after the 2011 renovation of the parade. The existing floats will be getting upgraded LED lights, so the whole parade will be getting a little bit of added oomph.

Tokyo DisneySea Celebrates 14th Anniversary

Tokyo DisneySea opened its gate to guests on September 4th, 2001. The most ambitious Disney project at the time. Often referred to as one of the most unique Disney theme parks in the world, it is enjoyed by millions of guests every year. Earlier this year the Oriental Land Company announced a massive expansion to Tokyo DisneySea (along with Tokyo Disneyland). The future looks bright for both of these theme parks.

Before we look into the future, lets remember where Tokyo DisneySea all began. In this 45 minute documentary by the Travel Channel, they explain how this theme park came to fruition, to the challenges the Oriental Land Company faced.

2012 Tokyo Disney Sea Christmas Vinyls

Thanks to Tomio Keisuke, we have a look at four new 2012 Christmas themed Vinylmation figures that will be released in Japan.

They will be released at Tokyo Disney Sea for 1200 Yen and be made available during their Disney’s Christmas celebration between November 7 – December 25.

Andy’s Tokyo Toys

Who knew? It seems as though Andy from the Pixar Toy Story franchise went away to college to become an artist:

Straight from our friends over at the Vinylmation Japan Blog (an unofficial fan site), we have revealed four Toy Story Vinylmation that will be released at Tokyo Disney Sea on July 5th at McDucks Department Store. They are to commemorate the summer opening of the Toy Story Midway Mania attraction at Tokyo Disney. They will cost 1200 Yen or $15 USD. It seems to be a four figure series that includes Woody, Buzz, Jessie and the Alien all designed from the stand point that Andy actually drew them. And as you can see above, Andy actually signs them as the artist!

To me, these are an absolutely beautifully designed series. Such a unique take that makes so much sense in the Toy Story universe.
