This morning four of the 9″ Urban 6 Vinylmaiton were released in D-Streets and online at the disneystore.com. The Viking, Stars, Light Meter, and Love are all $39.95. All are LE of 800 except for Stars which is LE 600.
As of 11:20 AM (EST) all four were still available online.

Update: 5/20/11 @VinylKonrad snapped this pic for us. It seems that there might have been two different prices for the pieces in two different stores. But at least one of theme was selling it for $11.95, so make sure you get them at that price. Saves you $24 bucks!
Update: 5/21/11 At the trade show we ran into Claudia and she said that they had gone back and checked, and that it seems the store closest to the Star Tours ride was selling them at a different price than the Jabba store that was at the other end of the studios. Many other people also confirmed the lower $11.95 price. Interesting…. Can anyone else chime in?
Update: According to grumpychef25 he bought a boxes for $11.95. We will look into this more.
According to reader Claudia, they are selling the Star Wars vinylmation at $12.95 a box, instead of the $11.95 they were sold at back when they first were released in January.
Can anyone else confirm this?
What do you think? I know several of us were very surprised and happy to see the price at $11.95 the day of the release. I wonder why they changed it…
 Yesterday, we finally got a sneak peek at the 3″ Vinylmation designed by Noah for the Little Mermaid release at California Adventure on June 11th!!
The figure has tiny details of bubbles all over the figure! Noah also pointed out via twitter today, “Noah little mermaid Vinylmation 3″ all have hidden mickeys in the bubbles” What a great touch!! I don’t know about you but I LOVE when artists include hidden mickeys in their artwork! No word yet on what the backside of the figure looks like.. Maybe the silhouette of Ariel? Update: 6/1/11 We hear more and more that this is just a mistake on the store’s part, so we are closing this speculation out for the time being. Don’t worry, it doesn’t seem like Park 4 is coming back, every one’s high valued pieces are safe. (If only we can find me an EPCOT ’82 piece)
Update: 5/20/11 According to several comments, people are saying that those particular signs have been up for a while now. So this might not actually come true, however, it’s an interesting idea to think about, especially since we got a “re-release” of Star Wars. (I know it’s a different situation, but still interesting to ponder.)
A message was left on our Facebook wall by David saying he saw a “Coming Soon” sign next to Park 4 at Villains in Vogue at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Is this sign misplaced or did they find some cases of Park 4 somewhere backstage while cleaning up this past weekend? We will look into this. Park 4 wasn’t in stores long and demands a slight premium in the aftermarket. Would you be happy if more Park 4 were on the way?
Update: 5/18/11 A picture on the Vinylmation.com blog today reveals Star Wars cases in Jabba’s Hut in Hollywood Studios. Then they reminded us that Star Wars Weekends will be coming in two days. This is probably as close to confirmation that SWW will be the re-release for the Star Wars set in WDW. From the rumors we have heard, expect the Star Wars set to only be available in Hollywood Studios (for Florida).
Update: 4/26/11 We noticed that the Art of Disney blog had the following announcement up. June 4th, 2011 Star Wars will be re-released at the Little Green Men Store Command in Tomorrowland, Disneyland. Also that night will be a signing with Mike Sullivan from 9am-11am. So now all we wait for is the official dates for WDW.

If you notice in this picture, they say that Star Wars is returning soon. There have been rumors floating around that they might be waiting to re-release the Star Wars series. Those rumors seem to be true as a cast member at D-Street said they were waiting for Star Wars Weekends. So be sure to look for them on May 20th, or there abouts. As always we will be keeping up with this story.

The Little Mermaid – Ariel’s Undersea Adventure Designed by Maria Clapsis Released July 8th $14.95 Clearly a clear Vinylmation, this passholder exclusive looks quite different from other Little Mermaids or in fact most others at all. Utilizing the old molds, this Vinylmation has clams for ears, fish and Sebastian on its head, a starfish on its foot, a shadow of Ariel on its stomach and bubbles throughout. Goofy’s Sky School Designed by Maria Clapsis Released July 8th $14.95 We’ve seen a few different Goofy Vinylmations come out already yet the designers continue to introduce new designs. Goofy’s ears are sky blue with the flight school bird (wearing what looks like may be goggles) in his right ear and the cloud with a bird shaped center missing on his left. The artist seemed to place Goofy inside of the plane for this Vinylmation with the window of the cockpit located on his chest and the propeller on his stomach. Update: 5/17/11 Disney has released pictures and information about the Cast Chasers for this series. They are “distributing” these figures to the Walt Disney World stores as we speak… meaning they are not there yet. They are exclusive to WDW. Disney will let us know when they are available. They also announced they are working on Disneyland exclusive figures.
Update: 1/27/11 Disney announced that this series will only come out on the 28th in Florida, California will have to wait til February 4th to purchase these.
1/19/11- Disney just announced a release date for the Walt Disney World 40th Anniversary Vinylmations.
The figures will be available on January 28th at both D-Streets, California and Florida. February 4th in California. There are 6 figures in this open window set.
The set will also contain 2 variants of two of the figures from the set. They have the same design, just different colors. The variants will only be available by trading with a Disney Cast member inside the Walt Disney World theme parks.

I’ll be honest, I’m not sure if you would find this Pirate at the traveling carnival or on a pirate ship. She has a wonderful peg leg, a great looking custom nose and a very colorful costume. The heart shaped eye patch is attached, not painted. As with the bow on the head. And the skull and crossbones in the ear is a great detail.

Update: 5/14/11 At Midnight @noahfineart announced that he was ALSO making a Pirate 9″ Custom (as well as the previously announced Little Mermaid custom). So now it looks like the May 21st release and signing is with Noah at Disneyland.
Update: 5/9/11 On the podcast (and on this post) we’ve compared this release to the release of the Noah special 9″ TRON customs. Now there’s reason to believe that he might actually be the artist of this one to. Tonight @NoahDineArt tweeted this:
Remember that the Noah TRON series had 36 individual custom 9″ figures. Each vinyl cost $595.00. Will that part stay the same too? Since the announcement at the Art of Disney blog is only for California, will this series be smaller than 36? The release date is fast approaching. I have a feeling we will find out more, really really soon.

This begs the questions, “Is it just one design? Is it a very limited Series like the Noah 9″ TRON figures? Is it a set of 9″?” What do you think?
4/2/11 It’s April 2nd, so this is not a April Fool’s prank.
As normal, we were clicking the links looking for Muppets 2 info on the Art of Disney Event’s page, and lo and behold, they updated it. Most of the dates in the calender are already known, but one new date stuck out. May 21st! The rumored Pirates (of the Caribbean?) set will be released that day, along with a signing of the set at the Disneyland Resort from 2-5pm. This date makes sense, as Pirates 4 On Stranger Tides opens on May 20th.
No word yet on the artist, but since it’s California it’s a possibility that the artist is Monty.
