UNCLE DEADLY The Muppet Show (1976) Originally performed by: Jerry Nelson The Phantom of the Muppet Show, who once tormented the cast before revealing that he used to perform at the Muppet Theatre before he was killed (by the critics). Uncle Deadly is set to make a triumphant return in 2011’s The Muppets as the second-in-command to villain Tex Richman. It would be great to see this figure with a tail. “Just as scary as the Muppet. Wonderful imagining of this character!”-M.C. |

MAHNA MAHNA The Ed Sullivan Show (1969) Originally performed by: Jim Henson Mahna Mahna first sang his signature tune on The Ed Sullivan Show and then repeated his act on the very first episode of The Muppet Show with his pink companions the Snowths. The Snowths are pictured here peaking from behind his head. “Another great use of the ears. Pieces like this one completely invoke the feeling of watching the Muppet Show.”-M.C. |

BOBO Muppets Tonight (1996) Originally performed by: Bill Barretta The bumbling security guard on Muppets Tonight, Bobo memorably fell in love with guest Cindy Crawford. Bobo has since found a calling as a thick but generally kind-hearted assistant to the villains in Muppets From Space, Letters to Santa and The Muppets (2011). “This shows a great use of shadow to convey just how big a wrinkly Bobo is. This looks perfect.”-M.C. |

MARVIN SUGGS The Muppet Show (1976) Originally performed by: Frank Oz Marvin’s act on The Muppet Show involved playing the Muppaphone, an instrument made of small fluffy creatures who made different noises when hit in the head. Two of the Muppaphones are depicted in the figure’s ears, presumably flying in the air after a good solid whack. “I really like the use of bright colors and the ears in this piece. Nice work Mike!”-M.C. |

Vinylmation Speculation with Mike Boon: Muppets 3.4 Crazy Harry

CRAZY HARRY The Muppet Show (1976) Originally performed by: Jerry Nelson The pyrotechnic expert on The Muppet Show, Crazy Harry showed particular mad scientist delight whenever something needed to be blown up. He’s got dynamite tucked into his pants and I would expect even larger explosives to be hiding behind his back. “I love his smile. And of course, a stick of dynamite or the plunger for an accessory!”-M.C. |

Vinylmation Speculation with Mike Boon: Muppets 3.3 Robin the Frog

ROBIN THE FROG The Frog Prince (1971) Originally performed by: Jerry Nelson Kermit the Frog’s nephew, who often feels insignificant because of his small size but still maintains a generally sunny outlook. His biggest role was as Tiny Tim in Muppet Christmas Carol. His ears and the top portion of his head could be clear or clear-sky blue to best represent his smaller size. “His smaller face fits perfectly into the “cheeks” of the new vinyl. This one feels like Robin, with the squat head.”-M.C. |

Festival of the Masters 2011: Artists Lee Clark and Joe Kaminski
At the 2011 Festival of the Masters, great art work is around every turn. The festival’s featured artist, Joe Kaminski, seemed to have his hand in a few different creations. He is the artist behind the festival’s logo and this LE 750 pin:
He used this great looking retro design in a few pieces of artwork that are on sale this weekend.
Pins, paintings… how about Vinylmation you ask? Joe Kaminski worked with fellow artist Lee Clark on some 9″ customs called Paint Splatter Mickey. Each piece retails for $1200
You can find all of the above at the Festival of the Masters at Downtown Disney Orlando this weekend. Just stop by D-Street.
