Extended Hours for November 2 WDW Trade Night

Update: 11/01/12 Since we first brought you this news about extended hours, the Vinylmation Events page has re affirmed the 4-9pm trading hours and the apparent use of all the Ballrooms (plural). Again we ask why? A good thing for sure, but is it just for extra room or some kind of entertainment, artist signing or release? I’m also thinking maybe a larger mobile store with on sale Vinyls to sell off extra D-Street inventory?

We have been waiting since Mickey’s Circus four the Walt Disney World’s next trading night on November 2nd, and according to Disney’s pin blog, the hours have been extended to give guests two extra hours of trading! The event will now take place from 4-9pm at the Contemporary Resort. As always, these bi-monthly trading nights are FREE to all guests and select Vinylmation and Pins should be on sale. This is the first time I’ve seen the hours extended like this. I wish the extension went an hour or two later as opposed to earlier. Due to work, the extension doesn’t help me, but will you be getting there earlier to trade? Will you try to make it the entire five hours? Come early, take a break and go back for the end? Just so you know this was not a misprint, they specifically called out the time extension:

“In order to provide more hours of fun, we are starting the November 2nd pin trading night event at 4:00pm!”

Also of note, and this one may be a misprint, they say the event will take place at: “Disney’s Contemporary Resort – Fantasia A-G Ballroom.” A-G? Are they extending the trading space for us?

Red Car Trolley Rolls Out at California Adventure

While it isn’t Walt Disney World related, we are currently out at California Adventure covering the opening of Cars Land and Buena Vista Street for Disneyland News Today and figured this might be interesting to share with the Florida crowd. I’m beginning my plea for Disney’s Hollywood Studios to add a running Red Car Trolley after experiencing the attraction’s grand opening this week in California. Here’s a video so you can see for yourself:

For complete and continuing coverage of everything going on at the Disneyland Resort, please visit DisneylandNewsToday.com/DCAlive now through June 20th.

Theme Park Favorites Photoshoot

Austin and I decided to break the Theme Park Favorites out of their open window cages and take them around Downtown Disney for some photos.

New 2013 Japan Daruma and Kaa Eto

@Takuya_Vinyl tweeted out the above picture. I depicts a new Japan Tokyo Disneyland Resort Exclusive Daruma Otoshi Mickey & Minnie. It also has a picture of the New Year 2013 Eto Kaa. All thee figures are set for a December 1 release. I’m a big Jungle Book fan and I love the way he wraps around the canvas. I also like the cartoonish art style he is drawn with.

Live Coverage of Cars Land, Buena Vista Street, and the Re-Dedication of California Adventure!

While it may not be happening at Walt Disney World, WDWNT will be heading out to California to cover all the festivities at the Disneyland Resort over the next week. From the grand opening of Cars Land and Buena Vista Street, to the premiere of new entertainment such as the Voices of Liberty, Streetmosphere, and more, the WDWNT Network will bring you closer to the excitement than anyone else. We’ve even set up a special live coverage site at www.DisneylandNewsToday.com/DCALive to make it easier and faster to connect with everything going on. The page brings together the in-depth coverage that will be found on Disneyland News Today’s website, the up-to-the-minute tweeting from @DLNT, and even live video streaming which we will be offering from a few select events during the week.

Coverage begins tomorrow at the official media festivities for Cars Land. Even once the media events wrap-up on the 15th, we will continue our coverage of what’s happening at the Disneyland Resort through June 20th. We hope you will join us as The Happiest Place on Earth Gets Even Happier!

Spoiler Alert! Extreme Wrestlers Chaser

Extreme Wrestlers are not due out in Disney Stores until October 29, however some fans got there hands on them as some Disney Stores put them on the shelves a week early.

The chaser is Sammy Smackdown! Apparently from the USA, he seems to hold the coveted Vinylmation Extreme Wrestlers Championship Belt.

“Watch Out For That Tree!” – Falling Limbs Mean Safety Nets at Animal Kingdom

Photo & Video Sharing by SmugMug

When pieces of the Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom fell to the ground a few weeks ago, it forced the closure of “It’s Tough to be a Bug” and the paths around the park icon. For the most part, you still can not walk the paths around the Tree of Life, but above those that you can explore, you’ll find these wood structures with nets. Many more of these structures are going up around the various paths, but until they are complete, these paths will remain closed.

You can still get some good photos of the Tree of Life

More canopies under construction

Does it ruin the area? I’m really not sure, but it has a distinct feel of Jurassic Park for some reason…

What do you think? Is this a good fix or should Disney just close the Tree of Life area and attempt to fix the problem?

New Details on Phineas and Ferb: Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure

A few days ago, the Disney Parks Blog had a live chat opportunity with Jonathan Ackley of Walt Disney Imagineering about interactive games at the Disney Parks and the upcoming Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure at Epcot. First-off, we got a first-look at some colored concept art:

Secondly, there were a few interesting questions and answers during the live chat we’ll share with you now:

Comment From Joe: Will Agent P’s world showcase adventure include Phineas and Ferb or will it be just Agent P and Dr. Doofenshmirtz?

Jonathan: When guests play Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure, it will be just like they are in an episode of the show. So, as the guests are trying to defeat Doof, Phineas and Ferb will be building a contraption and Candace will be trying to bust them. I think it’s likely that once you disable one of Doof’s inators, it just might make Phineas and Ferb’s machine disappear.

Comment From Jeremiah: Jonathan, thanks for being here. Kim Possible had her sound for the Kimunicators, what will be the sound for the Agent P game? One of my fav parts was walking World Showcase and hearing that chime go off.

Jonathan: The sound is going to be Agent P’s theme

Comment From Liz: Question … Will Agent P adventure use upgraded technology…not Kim Possible phone?

Jonathan: From a WDI standpoint, the focus is always on the storyline and not the technology. What we will be giving the guests is “Field Operative Notification Equipment,” or F.O.N.E.’s. Very high-tech stuff. (It’s even got a laser).

This sounds like it will be the same devices from Kim Possible, but we can’t be certain…

Comment From Kaylyn: How much did you work with Dan and Swampy to come up with the story of this interactive attraction? What were their contributions?

Jonathan: They were engaged from the very beginning, helping us with ideas and characters, and going over our scripts and making sure that we were creating a theme park attraction that is true to the show.

Comment From Jeff: Do you have a favorite country as far as storyline for both Kim and Perry?

Jonathan: Don’t make me choose between all my children…(Germany!).

Jenn Fickley-Baker: From the blog, Matt asks “When the Agent P game debuts, will all of the missions be available or will more be coming later? If so, when?”

Jonathan: All of the missions will be available once we open the attraction, but there will be new top secret-iniators that will roll out over the summer.

Stay tuned to WDW News Today as we get closer to the grand opening of Phineas and Ferb Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure in late-June.
