Disney Music Vevo has released the recording of Ariana Grande and John Legend performing the classic Disney song, “Beauty And The Beast”. Just a heads up, this is an audio only video. No new scenes or live performances by Grande and Legend.
Not bad. It’s not the Celine Dion and Pebo Bryson version but both Grande and Legend do a good job.

It’s hard to write these stories over and over as Rivers of Light at Animal Kingdom has been continually delayed since its original debut date was set for April 22nd, 2016. I know we have told you many times that the show was near completion, and in most recent times it has been, but for one reason or another, Disney has refused to debut the show. There were even cast member previews in early December, but there has not been a word about any further performances since then.
Well, it appears as if cast members staffing the show have been scheduled to work at the Discovery River Theater as of next week. What this means exactly is unknown (even to the cast members involved at this point), but many rumors are pointing to a February 12th (or roughly around that date) debut for Rivers of Light at Animal Kingdom. We don’t expect any big hoopla by Disney should the show debut now, but based on the PR fiasco it has been up until this point, who could blame them?
As always, you can take this with a grain of salt when it comes to this show, but something is definitely happening at the Discovery River Theater next week (and hopefully it isn’t The Jungle Book: Alive with Magic). We will keep you in the loop as we find out more in the coming days.
The latest Eyes and Ears Cast Member publication has an interesting article about changes coming to and already in place for the various transportation systems at the Walt Disney World Resort. Below you will find the text from that story, as well as some, photos, videos, and added insight we can offer:
New experiences, improved services, and the latest technology abound in Walt Disney World Transportation and Parking Operations. “Our buses, monorails, boats and trams aren’t just modes of transportation for our Guests and Cast Members,”says JasonKirk vice president of Walt Disney World Transportation Operations, “They are apart of the fun and a part of the immersive Disney experience.”

THEMED BUS MARQUEES – Special greetings themed to a bus’s destination now appear on the marquees. ‘Charmed To See You” is one of the greetings for buses headed to Magic Kingdom Park.
WE’RE ON THE WAY – New digital screens at all of our resort bus stops let Guests know in real-time when their bus is scheduled to arrive.
SORCERER CLASS – An all-new interior themed to the “Sorcerer’s Apprentice” mesmerized Guests during a limited play test in 2016. Nicknamed “the fun bus.‘ it featured a custom light show, advanced GPS technology and comfy seats. (Video below)
WATERCRAFT
TEAM OUTFIT – Whether piloting the General Joe Potter or sailing as part of the Sassagoula River cruise, watercraft Cast Members across property now sport new costumes.
TRIVIA CRUISE – Cast Members adapted the spontaneous monorail trivia game for our Guests traveling by boat. “Can you name all three of the Magic Kingdom ferryboats?”
FRESH LOOK – The new monorail Cast Member costumes sport a colorful embroidered patch made up of 12 colors representing each of the monorails
TECHNOLOGY UPGRADE – Technology has been updated to a more automated system as part of several recent enhancements, for a safer and more efficient ride.
TRIVIA TRAIN – Monorail Cast Members are hosting spontaneous trivia contests for Guests aboard the monorail and Guests can win prizes. “How many monorail cars make up a monorail train?”
TRANSPORTED IN STYLE – Our parking trams will receive an all-new paint job inspired by the monorail colors. New, custom-made tram tractors will also ensure a quieter transit.
We spotted one of the trams out a few months back, but it seems they will now be getting color stripes like the monorails.
ARE WE THERE YET? – “We’ll be there in 223 elephant steps.” says the educational, new signage in the parking lots at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. That’s about a four- minute walk in human steps.

As we told you several months ago, Captain’s Grille at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort will be closing for several months to under go a massive remodeling and refurbishment project.
The restaurant overhaul is part of the sweeping changes at the resort, including the ongoing room remodeling and the expansion of the convention center. During the closure from mid-May until the Fall of 2017, a temporary version of Captain’s Grille will open in the Ariel’s space next door to Martha’s Vineyard at the Beach Club.
Disney today confirmed the timeframe and that the project is taking place.
The 12 year old kid-friendly MMO Club Penguin is shutting down on March 29.
Club Penguin was a social game where kids could create their own avatar, socialize, and decorate their virtual homes. The game seems quite antiquated by today’s standards, yet the dedicated fanbase has kept the game alive all these years.
Club Penguin officially launched in 2005, and the game was later purchased by Disney in 2007. The game has since had over 200 million registered users, though its popularity has declined significantly over the past few years. Club Penguin was eventually brought over to mobile, where it garnered a second life of sorts, but has since sunk back to an artifact of last decade.
However, there is hope for despondent fans. Club Penguin Island is a new game that will launch in March for mobile. While details are slim on the successor, it promises to bring a modernized social gaming experience for users. Unfortunately, players cannot transfer over their previous existing characters or any currency they have laying around in the old game, but they can pre-register now to reserve their desired username. So uh, you know, ANYTHING is available right now…
As we say goodbye to an era of social online gaming, we introduce a new one. Hopefully Club Penguin Island will satisfy the desires of fans and find itself another fun niche that the first one managed to maintain all these years.
As we warned you last month, the Kermit the Frog hot air balloon that stood above MuppetVision 3-D at Disney’s Hollywood Studios was slated to be removed. Well, that has been removed as of today:
The balloon was removed as it would have been visible from the Star Wars themed land in the park, expected to open in 2019.
