Here are the restaurants now adding the service as of September 19th:

  • Catalina Eddie’s
  • Rosie’s All-American Cafe
  • Fairfax Fare

The mobile ordering program allows guests to order at Disney counter service restaurants from their mobile devices and then pick-up the order when they are ready to eat. Check out our comprehensive review of the service to see how it works.

As of recent, guests can also mobile order Dole Whip at the Magic Kingdom. You can watch the process below:

Vampire Mater Bread Takes Wing for Cars Land Haul-O-Ween at Disneyland Resort

Move over Groot bread, there’s a new specialty bread treat at Disney California Adventure and it’s Vampire Mater!

 width=

Made especially for the Cars Land Haul-O-Ween celebration going on through October 31st, the cheesy-sourdough bread is available for $8.49 at Fillmore’s Taste-In. Quantities every day are limited, so be sure to head over early!

Most importantly (in this day and age), it takes a great picture for social media, since that matters.

 width=

Don’t let my long fingers fool you, it’s quite large, and if I didn’t hold it that way, the wings would fall off due to their weight.

If you’ve had any of the other sourdough bread items at the park, you know how good they are, and this one is no exception. So don’t hesitate, fly on over to DCA and get some Vampire Mater bread!

REVIEW: Halloween Marshmallow Cronut, Mummy Macaron, & Candy Apple Smoothie at Schmoozies

Schmoozies, located in Hollywood Land at Disney California Adventure, is offering three specialty items for Halloween Time now through October 31st.

 width=

 width=

MonsterMallow Doughnut ($5.49)

 width=

A croissant doughnut with marshmallow filling, this is large enough for a small family to share. I absolutely loved the marshamallow filling and the “cronut” was soft, flaky, and delicious.

 width=

Mummy Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich ($6.49)

 width=

This item is a almond macaron with dark chocolate, drizzled with white chocolate and filled with rainbow sherbet. This is an absolute must-order as the flavors all compliment each other perfectly. While rainbow sherbet doesn’t seem very Halloween-themed, it was the prefect companion to the almond and white chocolate pastry. Be sure to grab lots of napkins, because this thing can be a bit messy.

Caramel Apple Smoothie ($5.99)

 width=

It is what it is titled, a smoothie flavored like a caramel apple. While light on the caramel, it has a really pleasant apple flavor with just a hint of the caramel flavoring.

Overall, all 3 of these are worth ordering, so make sure that you stop by Schmoozies at Disney California Adventure during HalloweenTime!

Pumpkin Churros Drive Into Cars Land for Haul-O-Ween at Disney California Adventure

Disneylanders love their churros, and now there’s a new flavor of churro to love for a limited time at the Cozy Cone Motel in Cars Land.

 width=

The pumpkin churro is available for a limited time during the Haul-O-Ween celebration now through October 31st at the park. Available at Cone 1, the treat didn’t even have a real sign yet when we first discovered it. It is priced at $4.50.

 width=

How is it? Well, I’m not the biggest fan of pumpkin flavored snacks nor churros, so I was surprised and delighted when I enjoyed this one. The pumpkin flavor wasn’t overpowering and the churros tasted like it was fresh out of the oven.

 width=

The bad news is that this line can get quite long, but Cone 1 does open a little earlier than some of the others for the early morning breakfast hours. My tip would be to get their early and get this for a sweet breakfast treat.

Hostess with the Mostess – Top 5 Great Movie Ride Favorites

 width=

Lights, camera, action! Thanks for joining me for another countdown! Today we are going to talk about a beloved attraction that is no longer with us. As most of you are aware, The Great Movie Ride is gone, having closed on August 13th. Not cool. I am deeply saddened by this decision and I feel it was premature. Although I am excited for the new Mickey ride, I would be more excited if it were located elsewhere.

The Great Movie Ride is very near and dear to my heart. It was one of my favorite attractions hands down. A lot of it is because I LOVE movies, especially classic films, but also because it was just so much fun. I felt like it really captured the nature of what it is that draws us into these stories.

I was definitely one of those kids who dreamt of someday working at Walt Disney World. And the three jobs I had on my list were the Casting Director at the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, a Citizen of Hollywood, and of course the Movie Guide at The Great Movie Ride. While other girls dreamt of being a Princess, I dreamt of taking guests on a magical journey into the movies.

I knew the script by heart at a very young age. I spent time doing research on all of the movies mentioned so that I was prepared with fun facts in case the ride stopped and I had to stall! I did a whole presentation on the attraction in high school. Yes, I was … still am crazy.  But I just loved the attraction so much and I really wanted that job.

I feel strongly that the closing was premature. My love for the ride did not blind me, I was fully aware it needed work and updates, but Disney has the capability to make those amazing changes that will only enhance the ride. Putting your guests smack dab in the middle of the movie action will never get old. I was very hopeful that the TCM partnership would be a huge step towards a new Great Movie Ride. Sadly that didn’t happen.

So that brings us to why we are here. I want to honor The Great Movie Ride by remembering its greatness and counting down my favorite things about the attraction. Here are my Top 5 Great Movie Ride Favorites! Ready when you are, C.B.!

5. Ending Movie Montage

 width=

I very much supported the TCM sponsorship, however I was not too impressed with the new ending. I loved Robert Osborne’s introduction, but I preferred the old montage. The original was so well put together and just had that something special. It was the perfect ending credits to conclude our journey.

4. Queue Line

 width=

I always enjoyed the queue line. I loved looking at the movie props, costumes, and posters. But my favorite part was when you entered the theater and got to see the movie trailers, which I could watch over and over again. I was pleasantly surprised with the TCM change. Being a classic movie fan, I wanted nothing more than to just stand there and watch Robert’s entire presentation on these movies and hear all of the really awesome things he had to share.

3. Movie Guide and Actors

 /></p>
<p>The Movie Guide was exciting, informative, a little cowardly at gunpoint, but then courageous in the end! I really appreciated the script which included many film references and of course they were always stylin’ … more so with the old costume #RIPSuspenders. Along with our amazing Movie Guide we had the privilege of being a part of the movie magic. Who thought being hijacked would be so much fun? I loved both scenes very much. But I would have to say the western bank robbery was my favorite. Which one was your favorite? #TeamGangster or #TeamCowboy? Comment and let me know!</p>
<p> </p>
<h2>2. Animatronics</h2>
<p><img loading=

The animatronics had to be my number two. After all, they were what made the ride great! They brought the movies to life! Whether they were a major character like the Wicked Witch or just a small Munchkin singing in a window, they gave it their all! My favorite animatronic was definitely Gene Kelly. Singin’ in the Rain is my favorite movie and I always loved seeing Don Lockwood up close!

1. Imagineering Secrets

 width=

The Great Movie Ride was packed full of Imagineering secrets and Easter eggs. I learned so much from the Cast Members about all of the secret things to look out for. Some of my favorites included: The gangster car license plate 021-429 which represented February 14, 1929, the date of the St. Valentine’s Day massacre. In the same scene, you could see Mickey’s silhouette in an upper building’s window. The Crew Roster in Alien included many names of the Imagineers who worked on the attraction. You can see R2-D2 and C-3PO in the hieroglyphics, and that’s just naming a few!

That’s a wrap for my countdown. It was a fabulous attraction filled with so much detail and magic! I will always miss it. If you haven’t seen the walkthrough video yet, you need to check it out! It is a fantastic way to revisit The Great Movie Ride when you want to reminisce.

Be sure to vote! If I didn’t mention your favorite thing please comment below. And don’t forget to include your favorite version, #TeamGangster or #TeamCowboy!

Extra Magic Tip: Since the attraction is closed, there is not much foot traffic in this area. Right now is a good time to check out all of the celebrity handprints and get your picture taken by the PhotoPass photographer.

Hostess with the Mostess – Top 10 WDWNT Favorites Results

 width=

It is here!! The event we have all been waiting for had begun! This Friday started “WDWNT’s Tencennial Celebration!”

For WDWNT’s birthday I counted down my Top Ten WDWNT Favorites. I finally have the voting results and let me tell you, it was not much of a competition. In fact, out of the ten on my list, most of you voted between just two! The two you voted for were …

2. The NEWS!

 width=

I knew this would be high on the list! How can it not be when WDWNT is such a great source for all of the Disney happenings.

1. WDW News Tonight

 width=

WDW News Tonight was the number one vote! I am not surprised, News Tonight is pretty fantastic! Although it was neck and neck with The News during voting, I had a feeling it would pull through and be the favorite.

I do have to give a HUGE shout out to Becca for her comment. “I voted ‘other’. My favorite is the Hostess with the Mostess articles and top tens!!” Well thanks Becca!! You are obviously the coolest. 😉

My next countdown is almost done! I am going to share my favorite things about an attraction that is … or was very special to me. As always, thanks for voting and I hope to see you at the 10th Anniversary Event!

REVIEW: Cafe Orleans at Disneyland Drastically Revamps Menu

A Disneyland tradition for us, we just had to make a reservation to dine at Cafe Orleans in New Orleans Square while we’re in Anaheim covering all of the HalloweenTime festivities. While we expected one new seasonal item for the celebration, we were instead greeted by drastically different menu…

 width=

For those unfamiliar, here is the previous menu:

 width=

Luckily, the beloved gumbo is still the seasonal soup, but our server said it will be changing. Also, the Monte Cristo has remained, which is important since Blue Bayou no longer serves it.

Bourbon Street Chicken ($20)

 width=

The Bourbon Street Chicken was an excellent boneless chicken breast, seasoned brilliantly, with well prepared rice and the most amazing brussel sprouts. This was one of the best entrees I’ve ever had anywhere at the Disneyland Resort.

Steak and Potatoes ($22.00)

 width=

The steak and potatoes were pretty good as well, accompanied by fantastic mashed potatoes, and once again, those amazing brussel sprouts. It wasn’t the best steak, but it was one of the better under $25 steaks I’ve had in a theme park.

Overall

Overall, I think a lot of guests will be upset with the changes here, but both of the new items we had were fantastic. Besides that, my usual favorites (the pommes frites and the Monte Cristo) are still here so I have zero problem with the major alterations. If anything, I now have a much tougher entree choice than I had before.
