VIDEO: Germany Pavilion at Epcot Finally Debuts New Band at Outdoor Stage

While the stage was constructed back in March, it has been a mystery to most why there was a stage built just outside of the Germany pavilion in World Showcase at Epcot. Well, with little to no fanfare, a show debuted on the small stage this week: Margret Almer & The Bavarian Band.

The show is performed six times a daily 5 days a week. They are performing on a 3-month trial basis and may be extended based on guest demand.

Disney Is Working On A “Rocketeer” Reboot

1

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney is working on a reboot to the 1991 film, “The Rocketeer” and it will be titled “The Rocketeers”.

The project, in the early development stages, is being looked at as a sequel-reboot and will be headlined by a black female character.

Walt Disney Studios is developing a reboot of the 1991 action adventure movie, hiring Max Winkler and Matt Spicer to pen the script, which is being titled The Rocketeers.

The project, in the early development stages, is considered a sequel-reboot and, in a modern-day twist, will be headlined by a black female character.

The new take keeps the story in a period setting and offers a fresh view on the characters. Set six years after the original Rocketeer and after Secord has vanished while fighting the Nazis, an unlikely new hero emerges: a young African–American female pilot, who takes up the mantle of Rocketeer in an attempt to stop an ambitious and corrupt rocket scientist from stealing jet-pack technology in what could prove to be a turning point in the Cold War.

So what do you think? Are you looking forward to a reboot to “The Rocketeer” or do you think one “Rocketeer” was enough?

PHOTOS: Polynesian & Grand Floridian Beach Shorelines Replaced with Rocks

A few days ago we showed you the start of work to replace the Grand Floridian beach shoreline with rocks. Well, the work has progressed down to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort where the beaches are also closed off from the water by a fence and now a rocky shoreline as well.

Work was completed at the Grand Floridian.

The rocky shoreline is an attempt to keep guests out of the water at the resorts following the alligator attack earlier this summer. The beaches will be open to guests up to the fences once work is completed.

CONFIRMED: “The Muppets Present… Great Moments in American History” Coming to Magic Kingdom

We told you about it first a few weeks back, but today Disney confirmed that the Muppets are coming to Liberty Square at the Magic Kingdom:

sdij23r13

Beginning this fall, the Muppets will be visiting Magic Kingdom Park, where they’ll take part in an all-new live show, “The Muppets Present… Great Moments in American History.”

Sam Eagle, the fiercely patriotic American eagle who is forever trying to set a high moral standard for the Muppets, will join Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, The Great Gonzo and James Jefferson, town crier of Liberty Square, as they gather outside The Hall of Presidents to present historical tales in hysterical fashion as only they can. From the midnight ride of Paul Revere to the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the Muppets appear throughout the day to share with Guests, their own unique take on the founding fathers and the birth of the United States of America.

Featuring an original song and plenty of wacky Muppets humor, “The Muppets Present… Great Moments in American History” will make its debut in October 2016.

REVIEW: Beaches & Cream Introduces 3 Varieties of Loaded Fries

On a trip to the beloved Beaches & Cream at Disney’s Beach Club Resort over the weekend, I discovered that they are serving loaded fries now, similar in style to the Daily Poutine at Disney Springs.

IMG_0067

For $6 each, you can get a rather healthy serving of one of three styles, or you can substitute them as a side with your entree for just $1.50 more.

Brown gravy isn’t my thing, but there were pretty good. The steak fries now gone from Plaza Restaurant live on here and any variety of these will be a better option than the Plaza Loaded Fries. SCORE: 4.5 out of 7.

IMG_0077

There’s nothing crazy about the Chili and Cheese Fries but they are pretty good. SCORE: 4.5 out of 7.

The cheese and bacon fries were far and away our favorite, I would get these again in a heartbeat. I love the steak fries to begin with and they were just enhanced with some quality toppings in this case. SCORE: 6.5 out of 7.

So, on your next trip to Beaches and Cream, why not grab an alcoholic milkshake and some loaded fries?
