Princess Leia Will Make Her “Star Wars Rebels” Debut

image-116

We have seen Star Wars Original Trilogy character such as Darth Vader, Yoda, R2D2 and C3PO and Lando Calrissian make guest appearances on Star Wars Rebels, now the latest to make an appearance will be Princess Leia Organa. The Episode, A Princess In Lotahal, will air on January 20th at 9PM EST on Disney XD:

From TV Insider:

Before Season 2 of  Star Wars Rebels began, executive producer Dave Filoni teased that he was bringing another major legacy character from the films to his animated series. We can now reveal that guest star is Princess Leia Organa (who is going by General Organa in the current blockbuster Star Wars: The Force Awakens).

The iconic character—who was introduced in the very first scene of the first Star Wars movie back in 1977 (aka A New Hope)—will be featured in the January 20 episode of the Disney XD series, which is set prior to that film, just as the Galactic Empire is beginning its ruthless oppression. The teenage princess is sent to Lothal—the base planet for the series’ main characters, a group of rebel fighters—on a secret mission to bring ships for the rebel fleet. Unfortunately an Imperial lockdown throws that plan into chaos.

“We thought we had an opportunity to show her learning to be a leader, experimenting with the personality that becomes the stronger more resolute character you see in A New Hope,” Filoni says. “One of the complex challenges of depicting Leia in Rebels is that we have to remind the audience that at this point she is part of the Empire. She doesn’t believe in the Empire, but she is acting the part, almost a double agent.”

This will be Leia’s only appearance this season, and it is unknown yet if she will appear again on the series. The voice will not be provided by Carrie Fisher (the live-action actress who created the role), but instead is by Julie Dolan, who also played Leia in the video game Star Wars: Uprising.

Hilarious New Superbowl TV Spot For “Coca-Cola” Featuring Both Ant-Man And The Hulk

It’s rare that anything surprises me but did not see this coming at all. I think most people had no idea that Ant-Man and The Hulk would team up for a Coca-Cola Mini commercial and that it would turn out so good.

First Look At Tom Holland As Peter Parker On The Set Of “Captain America: Civil War”

CZW6u2ZUAAABTEu

We still haven’t seen Tom Holland in Spider-Man costume yet but here is a shot of Holland on the set of the Avengers Quinjet in “Captain America: Civil War”. Rumor is that the reason why we haven’t seen Tom Holland in any trailers or promotional material is because everything has to be approved by both Disney and Sony. I’m sure we will get something soon. If not an official image, promotional art is bound to leak soon.

Entertainment Weekly Reveals Benedict Cumberbatch As “Doctor Strange” In Full Costume

cdn.indiewire.psdops.com

Our first official look of Benedict Cumbebatch as The Sorcerer Supreme came to us through a special issue of Entertainment Weekly. If this does one thing right, it gives me the confidence that they are following the source material. This costume is perfect. My biggest fear was that they were going to tone down Doctor Strange’s look for the real world but think this is the best Marvel movie costume after Iron Man (and Deapool!). Check out these fantastic pictures:

Here are some comparisons I put together of Doctor Strange from the comic book and Benedict Cumbebatch’s version:

New Photos Form “Daredevil Season 2”

t6773d7qupapiv1ssmic

Without a doubt, Entertainment Weekly are getting the best exclusive photos of Marvel characters. The above photo shows The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) getting the upper hand on our hero, Daredevil (Charlie Cox) What is great about this photo is it is right out of the comics where The Punisher has Daredevil chained up and lets Daredevil know that he is about to kill a mob boss. He hands over his gun to Daredevil and lets him know the only way that Daredevil can stop him from killing the boss is by Daredevil choosing to kill The Punisher. A very difficult test for Daredevil come to life in Season 2!

Entertainment Weekly also gave us our first look at Elektra( Élodie Yung) and she also looks like she stepped right out of the comic book. A far cry from the portrayal made by Jennifer Garner who looked nothing like the character.

Does C3PO Have A Red Arm In “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”?

4

Sure looks that way! Last month an image of C-3PO, BB-8 and R2-D2 was spotted on some children’s furniture and it showed that for some reason C-3PO has a new red arm. Another image was found this week on a soda can in Mexico and again it shows C3PO with a red arm.

Did something happen to C-3PO after “Return Of The Jedi”? Or could something have occurred during “The Force Awakens”? Does Tony Stark lend one of Iron Man’s gauntlets to C3PO? We’ll soon find out in almost 6 months!

The Punisher Is Coming For Daredevil In Season 2 Of “Daredevil”

ud_pun_card_avengerssdsdcsdc

Marvel has announced that Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead) has been cast to play The Punisher/ Frank Castle in Season 2 of Marvel’s “Daredevil” on Netflix.

collagesdsfdes

From Marvel:

standard_incredible

Bernthal will portray The Punisher, one of Marvel’s most popular characters. He is a vigilante who aims to clean up New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen by any means necessary, no matter how lethal the results.

“Jon Bernthal brings an unmatched intensity to every role he takes on, with a potent blend of power, motivation and vulnerability that will connect with audiences,” said Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Television. “Castle’s appearance will bring dramatic changes to the world of Matt Murdock and nothing will be the same.”

image_1

Many Marvel fans have been dying to see Daredevil and Punisher go at it. In the comics, they have sometimes been allies but also have been enemies and they have had some of the best knockdown battles in Marvel history. I am sure this will lead the way for The Punisher’s own series on Netflix. After seeing the graphic violence on Daredevil (which sometimes went a bit overboard), I definitely can see that style work perfectly with The Punisher.

“Amazing Spider-Man” Facebook Page Changed To “Spider-Man” Facebook Page

dadadadsadssad

This could be a sign of things to come. The Official Amazing Spider-Man Facebook Page has changed it’s name to the Spider-Man Facebook Page. With “Captain America: Civil War” currently filming, the big missing component is who will be playing the new Spider-Man? We should expect to hear word soon from Sony and Marvel about which actor will play the new Spider-Man along with the official title of the film will be. We have heard rumors that the title could be “Spider-Man: The New Avenger” and another rumored title was “The Spectacular Spider-Man.” Maybe it’s not a big deal that the Facebook Page has changed, but then again, maybe it is.

Rumor: Will There Be A Hulk (Or More Like Hulks) In “Civil War”?

hulkvsHulk

After the end of “Age Of Ultron,” The Hulk’s future definitely came off as uncertain. The last that we saw of him, the Hulk was using the Quinjet as a way of escaping from the team, for their own good. Nick Fury mentions that some kind of vessel was spotted by SHIELD but he also mentions that the Quinjet had no tracking device, so it could or could not be the Hulk’s Quinjet.

No one really knows for sure what plans Marvel has in store for the Hulk. But according to the site We Are Wakanda, their sources are saying that we may see the Hulk and we may see him battle against the Red Hulk, who is General Thunderbolt Ross in the comics and is played by William Hurt (The Incredible Hulk). I did find it odd that William Hurt was cast in “Civil War” especially since his character is not in the original Civil War comic book series. It does seem as though they have plans for General Ross and it could be that they have him follow his comic book story line and have him become the Red Hulk.

I personally think that even though Mark Ruffalo, who plays Bruce Banner and The Hulk in The Avengers movies, is not part of the cast, maybe they can have just The Hulk show up and battle The Red Hulk towards the end of the movie. I think it would make more sense to just set up General Ross in “Civil War” which would eventually lead to him becoming the Red Hulk in a future movie series. Who knows, but anything is possible and maybe we will see both the The Hulk and The Red Hulk in “Civil War.”

Samuel L Jackson Is Not In “Captain America: Civil War”

Nick-Fury-samuel-l-jackson

It doesn’t sound as though Samuel L Jackson is too happy not to be a part of “Civil War.” And it sounds like it was a surprise to him just as much as it was to us.

I finally met [comics writer] Mark [Millar], last year, when I was doing Kingsman, ‘cause he was on set one day, and I finally got a chance to thank him for making Nick Fury black and changing the whole dynamic. It’s really great to be the connective tissue between so many different characters in so many different films, that brings those guys together. But I’m not in Captain America 3. I can’t figure that out, but I’m not. I guess I’m still out there, trying to figure out what happened to S.H.I.E.L.D. and who these other people are.

Marvel recently revealed a comic book panel for the upcoming “Star Wars # 6” and it turns out that Han Solo has a wife and her name is Sana Solo. This story takes place between “A New Hope” and “The Empire Strikes Back,” so maybe something happens to Sana just before “Empire” which would leave the door open for Han and Leia’s romance.

First Look At “Star Wars Rebels” Characters For Disney Infinity 3.0

6

The announcement of  “Star Wars” coming to Disney Infinity 3.0 made many Star Wars fans very happy. We have seen characters announced from both “The Original Trilogy” and “The Prequels” but it turns out that the Disney Infinity Team wasn’t quite done.  Now the newest group of Star Wars characters to join Disney Infinity 3.0 is from the hit Disney XD series, “Star Wars Rebels.”

From StarWars.com

Star Wars Rebels was decided really early on,” Lucasfilm’s brand creative director Hez Chorba tells StarWars.com. “It’s an important part of the saga and our entire team is proud of the stories being told in the series. That’s when we got to, ‘We need these characters.’” The Star Wars Rebels characters that are making the jump to Disney Infinity action-figure form include Jedi-with-a-secret-past Kanan, Jedi-to-be Ezra, hot-headed alien Zeb, and explosives expert/graffiti artist Sabine. There’s more to adapting them to this line of toys, however, than one might think. A lot more.

The addition of Star Wars Rebels to Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition — and the care taken with that addition — illustrates just how important the series and its characters are to the Star Wars universe. In the game and in figure form, Sabine, Zeb, Ezra, and Kanan stand proudly with the galaxy’s most popular icons. “I’m super excited that we’re doing Rebels justice, the right way,” Chorba says. “We’re only expanding on something already great.” This is not the last stop in a galaxy far, far away for Disney Infinity, though. Quite the opposite.

“The cool thing is,” Bunker says, “there’s a lot coming down the road. I just want to ride the wave.”

Disney Infinity Disneyland Project Review Part 2: Adventureland, Frontierland & New Orleans Square

With Disneyland’s diamond celebration well underway, it has been very exciting to be able to virtually explore the lands and attractions with Disney Infinity and their Disneyland Project. The Disneyland Project is a complete recreation of the Anaheim park using the Infinity 2.0 video game. The Infinity game designers built the entire park, from Main Street USA to the Hub and all the surrounding lands and attraction facades. Then, they enlisted the help of players to build the individual attractions. Everything was then linked together, so you could explore the park. All this took place over the past few months, and the entire park with attractions is now available for download in the Toy Box for players.

I will continue my review of this project with a tour around Adventureland, Frontierland & New Orleans Square. (check out Part 1 of this series)

Tiki Room

DI 2 Tiki

Just a one room INterior house. Nicely done, but nothing to do here. There are some tiki props, but the hightlight is the tiki bird tree with Jose, Pierre, Michael, and Fritz.

Jungle Cruise

DI 2 Jungle Cruise

This one seemed so promising at first. The entire set looked well placed and wonderfully themed. The mechanics of the ride also worked well. With you jumping aboard a hockey puck that was then moved along a path automatically while you just had to move the camera around to look at all the set pieces. But were this attraction went wrong was in the script. Text would pop up, but the jokes were poorly written, and many were not at all what you would find on your average ride. Many of the jokes were horribly misquoted, like “rear of water” and others. Many of the actual gags that could have been easily built were missing as well. The giant Trader Sam looked good and it had the temple ride-through, but overall I was relieved to make it back to the dock.

Indiana Jones

DI 2 Indy

This one starts with a giant walk through queue. It had pros and cons. It was very well themed, using many INterior decorations and artifact toys. But it was way to big, long and boring. I would have made it more platform like to give the gamer something to accomplish. At the end of the ride, there was a jeep waiting for you to ride. From here, you drive up to the start/finish line and have the option of starting a race or not. I’d recommend not activating a race on first play. Instead, take a leisurely drive through and enjoy the set. I’d also recommend not holding the acceleration. If you pump the drive button to start and stop your vehicle and stay on course, the jerky motion really feels like attraction. I will say, knowing what other builders can, do, the builder of this attraction should have had Mara’s eyes animate. Also, Indy is only in it once… he needs to show up at least twice. Overall its a great scene by scene representation of the ride.

Pirates of the Caribbean

DI 2 Pirates

I had high hopes for this one, but then was sadly disappointed by the horribly broken mechanic. It was a very nice set up from the queue, but then it went downhill from there. First off, the “boat” is Tony Stark’s Sports Car. It automatically generates and then moves slowly in an invisible rail. Seeing what other people had done, like in the Jungle Cruise, and object that you jump on top of instead of in, would have worked better. But the whole mechanic of the ride is broken, and I gave it many tries. The boat too slow, it misses script queues, and it tumbles down waterfalls often falling off the course. The cave scene is way too long. There are some highlights… the town on fire looks great. There is an animated skeleton skull.  The auction scene has pop up text. And the jail scene has Jack and Pluto. There is also a well done treasure room cut away with Jack. And the pirates fighting cannon scene is done very well done with all kinds of explosions and action. Overall, there are some great scenes… the problem is getting there in your attraction vehicle. I had to get out and walk it.

Haunted Mansion

DI 2 Haunted Mansion

This may be one of the most brilliantly executed Toy Boxes I have ever played. Using the remote control function, which has a learning curve, the building gives the player a very fun way of viewing the stretching room portraits. It also adds replay-ability because you want to see each one. Then it cuts to the hanging scene and I have no clue how they pull off this optical illusion using the tools at hand! The doors around you open as needed and you proceed to the loading platform. The rides automatically moves you forward. You do not touch a single button once “upon the ride.” The sound effects, like thunder and lightning are perfect and so well timed. Great touch with the door slam. And this builder knows his Disney… it has the exact script. The seance scene was very fun. The attic and graveyard are done so very well. But the best part is the Hitchhiking ghosts. The effect is simply jaw dropping. You see the ghosts before, then your vehicle spins, and like magic, you see your character in front of you and you get the ghosts riding in your vehicle effect. They even included the final scene with bride saying goodbye.

Splash Mountain

DI 2 Splash Mountain

Perfection. Great vehicle choice. Its a slow moving vehicle from the Guardians play set that is very easy to handle. Instead of automagically moving you on invisible rails, you drive yourself… at your own pace. There are text cues and the course is easy to navigate. As you make your way up the mountain, there is a great cut scene with a vehicle slashing down. They use the lone ranger wagon and it looks perfect from afar. Great splash visual and sound effects at each drop. Smooth and flawless execution. Even the double dip into the laughing place! Characters are sparse, but well done. Oswald as brer rabbit. You can also choose a day or night ride. The sound effects on the lifts are amazing. And the final splash down is so much fun.

Big Thunder Mountain

DI 2 Big Thunder

I had very mixed feelings about this one. The toy box itself, from a distant cut scene, is very impressive. The builder did a wonderful job on aesthetics, but slightly missed on mechanics. It’s tricky to get on your train. You must get near track and push Y as soon as train comes into view. Overall, its a wonderful ride. Fast and crazy, it really feels like attraction. But it is a little broken in parts. You have to give it a tiny touch of gas when you stop or slow to a crawl, but if you give it too much, you may get way off course. I turned around and had to 180 at times. I also tipped over at times, but it normally auto corrected. On some ramps, I completely jumped out of the course and had to restart game play. I never had a perfect run and only made it to the very end once, which became a fun challenge. The explosions and town were there, but it needed a goat.

If you have played any of these, let us know your thoughts. Next time, I will review Tomorrowland.
