Dig In on 10/30: Kidada 9″ Ice Cream Sundae on the way!

Update: 10/23/11 Kidada announced that there will also be a separately sold t-shirt that comes out the day after the vinylmation. Here’s a look at it. The shirt will have a LE of 1500 just like the vinyl.
It’s official! The new Kidada 9/3 combo featuring Peter Pan and Tinkerbell will be released exclusively online at the DisneyStore.com on October 30. This combo is an LE 1,500, so a good deal more of these than the first one to go around. It will retail for $74.95. If you remember, the original leaked images of this figure were found on the UK Disney Store Online website. But this release seems like a US Disney Store Online release according to the link on the official Disney Vinylmation blog. No word at this time if part of the 1,500 figures will be available to the UK.

The 9″ is an Ice Cream Sundae design with the 3″ being Tink on a partially unwrapped candy bar.
The back of the ear says “Never Grow Up.”
On the back, there is also a quote from the movie.
As with the first Kidada, this one comes in a brilliantly designed box. It looks like a candy shop and has “nutrition info” on the side panel.

Why do you collect Vinylmation?
I collect Vinylmation because I am a fan of creative art & Disney. When you combine both of those two entities, you have a huge win. I love the creativity behind each design. Each design represents and means something to me, personally. This is what fuels the fire for me behind Vinylmation.

Which of these is the best feeling: Pulling a figure you want… from a blind box you just purchased? from a great trade with another collector? from a mystery trading box at the park? from a clear trading box?
The best feeling, for me, is opening a fresh case of Vinylmation. I love the first moment when you rip off the plastic and open the lid to see all of the fresh un-opened boxes. Music to my ears…

Vinylmation Speculation: What’s left for Villains Part 2

My name is Annemarie Brown and when I heard Destination Vinylmation wondering what villains would be left that they could add to another series of Villains I started to do some research. This is what I found… There are actually plenty of villains left to do another series, even two more if they get creative. This is part two of a two part look into Disney Villains.
For the first part check out Villains Speculation Part 1

Another cool villain would be Jafar’s trusty sidekick, Iago (Gilbert Gottfried). Unless they plan on making a “sidekick” series (which I don’t see happening) we can’t count out these great accomplice villains. Iago would be fantastic.
Frollo (Tony Jay) from “The Hunchback of Notre Dame,” while not the most popular of villains, would make a cool-looking vinyl, I think.
Madame Medusa from “The Rescuers” is still one of the most chilling villains Disney’s ever created. Voiced by Geraldine Page, she kidnaps children AND teddy bears!!
Edgar might be a bit obscure, but that’s what makes him interesting! The evil butler from “Aristocats” determined to get rid of the future inheritors of Madame’s fortune would make a great addition to a Villains set!  Voiced by” Roddy Maude-Roxby.
Horace(J. Pat O’ Malley) and Jasper (Frederick Worlock) would be great together on a vinylmation, I think. The bumbling duo from “101 Dalmatians” is almost as memorable as Cruella herself (almost!)
Another great pair that would be awesome on the same vinyl would be Flotsam and Jetsam, of course! Voiced by Paddi Edwards, Ursula wouldn’t be the same without these two by her side.
It’s been said before, but bears repeating… we still don’t have a Gaston vinylmation! Voiced by Richard White, he really needs no further introduction. And he would agree. (Also? I would give him a mirror as an accessory.)
One more random chaser idea: Pete from “Mickey’s Christmas Carol” is menacing and scary. Maybe with a cigar accessory? We already have a Steamboat Willie Pete, but he’s taken on so many incarnations of “bad guy” over the years, we have many wells to dip from with Pete.

I’m sure if we get creative we can come up with many more, throughout the years of Disney. Just rest assured, there are plenty of Villains to choose from for there to be future Villains vinylmation sets!

Vinylmation Speculation: What’s left for Villains? Part 1

This is what I found… There are actually plenty of villains left to do another series, even two more if they get creative. This is part one of a two part look into Disney Villains.

Chernabog from “Fantasia”… this isn’t even an obscure villain, as any Disney fan can attest to. Most likely the ultimate villain, actually! He would make a great chaser, I think.
Ratigan from “The Great Mouse Detective”- My personal FAVORITE villain! How they haven’t made a Vinylmation of him yet is beyond me. He oozes evil with the help of Vincent Price’s voice talents.
Of course, Lucifer from “Cinderella” was every bit as memorable as Lady Tremaine!
Continuing with Walt Disney’s personal dislike of cats (and inclination to make them villains!) We have the Siamese Cats from Lady and the Tramp, who would be great as two characters on one vinylmation.
The Headless Horseman from “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” would also make a cool chaser. Maybe a removable head or headpiece?
Willie the Giant, from “Mickey and the Beanstalk” voiced by Billy Gilbert. He makes an appearance also in “Mickey’s Christmas Carol” as the Ghost of Christmas Present… but “Beanstalk” is when he’s a true threat to our hero Mickey.

Look for the conclusion to Annemarie’s article on Monday here at DestinationVinylmation.com

Star Wars Vinylmation Reappears

Update: 10/10/11 Nick found out that Hollywood Studios Tatoonie Traders has Star Wars single blind boxes for sale. They are not selling cases!

We also have a listener named Dave send us this, “Star wars vinylmation can be purchased over the phone starting today. I called and confirmed, however they said shipping was $130 for two cases, so I opted not to buy.” If that sounds good to you try calling 407 363 6200 or toll free at 877 560 6477.

Lots of rumors floating about about the return of Star Wars to stores.

The only real proof we’ve seen is from @biglew8. This pic is from the Anaheim D-Street at 11:45 am.

Thanks Biglew8!

It’s the 2011 EPCOT Food and Wine Fest 3″ Vinylmation. Not sure if I care for the look of this one… but I hope it at least comes in a tin. Your thoughts?
Disney just released some more pictures of this Vinylmation:

And we thought tins were making a comeback.
