sduhf231.jpg

As posted today on the Disney Parks Blog:

Get ready to celebrate the return of a Disney Parks icon! As we told you earlier this year, the Main Street Electrical Parade is coming back to the place it began – Disneyland park – for a limited time, beginning January 20. Whether you’re making new memories or reliving favorite moments, this is a homecoming celebration you’ll want to share with family and friends.

This encore performance at Disneyland park will run nightly until June 18 – that’s 45 years after it first lit up Main Street, U.S.A., in 1972! During this limited-time celebration, guests will also enjoy special merchandise and food offerings inspired by the Main Street Electrical Parade – we’ll have more to share on those very soon.

Want to celebrate the return of the Main Street Electrical Parade in style? Join us on January 19 for a special, after-hours premiere event and be among the first to experience the return of this beloved parade. After the park closes, premiere event ticket holders will enjoy a night of exclusive access to most Disneyland park attractions and select restaurants, featuring a special performance of the Main Street Electrical Parade ahead of its official debut to the public. Tickets go on sale for Disneyland Resort Annual Passholders tomorrow, Dec. 6, and to the general public on December 13. Information will be available on Disneyland.com beginning tomorrow.

Join us in January as we welcome the Main Street Electrical Parade home to Disneyland park for a limited time!

Stay tuned to WDWNT as we’ll bring you more details on this event as they are released.

Splitsville Bowling and Dining Coming to the Disneyland Resort

Splitsville Luxury Lanes, which has pioneered a fun and inventive new approach to bowling as a social experience for all ages, will roll into the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort in late 2017.

img_9445

The first Splitsville in California will offer a unique combination of dining, bowling and live entertainment with 600 restaurant seats, a large outdoor patio overlooking the Downtown Disney District, two full-service bars and 20 luxury bowling lanes.

Located adjacent to Tortilla Jo’s in the former home of the House of Blues, Splitsville will have a dramatic, mid-century-inspired design. The menu by James Beard Award-winning chef Tim Cushman will include fresh-rolled sushi, gourmet appetizers, hand-cut steaks, and if you can spare it, alley classics like burgers, crinkle-cut fries and hand-tossed pizzas.

Splitsville opened a location at Walt Disney World’s Disney Springs in 2012.

REVIEW: Alcoholic Dole Whip Comes to the Disneyland Resort

In a rather strange turn of events, the Disneyland Resort is now home to an alcoholic Dole Whip float.

Now, before you start freaking out that there is alcohol being served at Disneyland Park, the specialty can be found only at the Disneyland Hotel’s Coffee House.

The Coffee House is a rather unassuming coffee shop adjacent to Goofy’s Kitchen. They recently not only added Dole Whip to the menu, but also a Dole Whip float and alcoholic version with rum.

I of course ordered the float with rum. Compared to similar offerings at Walt Disney World, the price point was cheaper and portions were plentiful. They don’t go heavy on the rum sadly, but the overall flavor is very enjoyable.

Be sure to stop by soon as it is unknown how long this new offering will last. It’s a great way to pre or post-game Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar… or you can just get the regular Dole Whip or float I guess. 😉

Disneyland is Now Selling Parade Route Pizza

Who’s ready for some Parade Route Pizza?

img_9994

Recently at Disneyland Park, a roaming cart selling pizza by the slice was introduced. The cart will roll down the parade route just before the daily event.

A slice is $9.00 and is of a good size. Guests can also purchase a whole pie for the discounted price of $45.00. It does not appear to be of the same style as other counter service pizza around the resort.

This cart comes at an interesting time as “bus loop pizza” was recently introduced at the Walt Disney World Resort.

Bob Iger Announces More Hotels will be Built at Walt Disney World, Disneyland Resorts

In today’s quarterly earnings call, Disney CEO Bob Iger stated that Disney will be looking to build more resort hotels in the not-too-distant future at both the Walt Disney World Resort and the Disneyland Resort.

hero_bay_lake_tower_at_contemporary_overview

Of course, a new resort hotel has already been announced for the Disneyland Resort, but the call seemed to hint that more would be constructed following that. At Walt Disney World, there are no announced new resort projects other than the ongoing expansion at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. Rumors do point to an expansion of Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and an additional tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort sometime in the next few years.

Iger stated that they were not ready to announce any of these or other resort projects at this time.

Moana Meet and Greet Coming to Disney World, Disneyland

No exact location that was given for the meet and greet experiences at either Resort as of yet.

The Moana character already meetsat Disney’s Aulani resort in Hawaii and will begin meeting at Disneyland Resort Paris on November 20.
