Disney has released the first teaser trailer for their upcoming live action film, “Beauty And The Beast” and it seems to so far follow the animnated classic beat by beat. Check it out!

Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” is a live-action re-telling of the studio’s animated classic which refashions the classic characters from the tale as old as time for a contemporary audience, staying true to the original music while updating the score with several new songs. “Beauty and the Beast” is the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realize the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within. The film stars: Emma Watson as Belle; Dan Stevens as the Beast; Luke Evans as Gaston, the handsome, but shallow villager who woos Belle; Oscar® winner Kevin Kline as Maurice, Belle’s eccentric, but lovable father; Josh Gad as Lefou, Gaston’s long-suffering aide-de-camp; Golden Globe® nominee Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, the candelabra; Oscar nominee Stanley Tucci as Maestro Cadenza, the harpsichord; Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Plumette, the feather duster; six-time Tony Award® winner Audra McDonald as Madame Garderobe, the wardrobe; Oscar nominee Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, the mantel clock; and two-time Academy Award® winner Emma Thompson as the teapot, Mrs. Potts.

Directed by Oscar® winner Bill Condon from a screenplay by TBD based on the 1991 animated film, the film is produced by Mandeville Films’ David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman with eight-time Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken, who won two Academy Awards® (Best Original Score and Best Song) for the 1991 animated film, providing the score, which will include new recordings of the original songs written by Menken and Howard Ashman, as well as several new songs written by Menken and three-time Oscar winner Tim Rice.

“Beauty and the Beast” will be released in U.S. theaters on March 17, 2017.

FROZEN, Beauty & The Beast, & Alice in Wonderland Areas Announced for Tokyo Disneyland & DisneySea

Oriental Land Co.,Ltd. released more information regarding the new expansions at both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea! Fantasyland in Tokyo Disneyland will be receiving areas themed to Beauty and the Beast and Alice in Wonderland. Tokyo DisneySea will get a new port themed after Scandinavia with a portion of it specific to Frozen. The projects are scheduled for after fiscal year 2017.

Emma Watson Cast as Belle in Live-Action “Beauty and the Beast” Film

News from Walt Disney Studios Publicity this morning is that actress Emma Watson (of the Harry Potter film world) has been cast as Belle in Disney’s upcoming live-action interpretation of Beauty and the Beast.

The actress and fashion icon posted her reaction on her Facebook page following this morning’s announcement:

The film is directed by Bill Condon and produced by Mandeville Films’ David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman. Production is anticipated to begin later this year.

WDWNT will keep you updated on this new Disney film as information becomes available.

New “Beauty and the Beast”-Inspired New Fantasyland Merchandise Coming Soon

Many of you have heard of (or were lucky enough to purchase) the recently released Vinylmation series from “Beauty and the Beast”. Now more merchandise based on this classic animated film will be arriving soon to Walt Disney World and Disneyland Parks, from the Toys, Art & Collectables, and Home & Decor Teams!

From the Toy Team, you can look forward to a Belle Tea Set, complete with a talking Mrs. Potts and Chip, along with a Gaston Archery Playset, and new Shields and Swords.

There’ll also be Collectable Figures of the film’s characters and a 1000 piece puzzle of artwork from Thomas Kinkade, which I’m looking forward to.

The Art & Collectibles Team has created a stained glass-like window, a replica of the actual window found in the Be Our Guest Restaurant in New Fantasyland at WDW. Also, a beautifully designed tapestry inspired by scenes from the film, which measures 54 inches x 35 inches.

And if you are a fan of the fountain outside Gaston’s Tavern, now you can have your very own statue, a replica of the fountain standing at 14.5 inches tall, and created by Costa Alavezos from the Disney Design Group, who also designed new shoe and ear hat ornaments recently available in the Parks.

From the Home & Decor Team, an 11 inch decorative figure of Lumiere will be available soon. What’s cool about this figure is that the candles will light up and “flicker” by hitting the switch on the candle base.

And for those who love to collect the Disney throws, the Home & Decor Team has created a new throw inspired by the same image on the stained glass-like window, which is also available for purchase at the Disney Parks Store online.

You can find all of these items now and coming soon to Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts. You can also shop for additional merchandise inspired by the Be Our Guest Restaurant in New Fantasyland, at the Disney Parks Store online. I know I’ll be doing some shopping!

WDW 4/30 Trade Night Previews

So, I was wrong. The WDW trade night at the ESPN Wide World of Sports was by all accounts a success. Lots of space and trading tables lining the halls. Pin traders found some great pins from CMs. Also, plenty of previews of Vinylmation, Pins and Star Wars Weekends merchandise. You can find the Pin previews at OnceUponaPin.com and the Star Wars previews at JediKingdom.com. The vinyl previews were impressive, however nothing we hadn’t seen elsewhere. However, this was the first time collectors had the chance to see them in person.

This 12 figure, mystery set was designed by both Maria Clapsis and Caley Hicks and may be my favorite movie themed Vinylmation set ever.

	Beast Wonderful design. Love the facial expression. Perfect cape!
	Belle Maria went with the blue dress, and I love the choice. Leaves room for a few variants or special edition Belles. The use of ears is fantastic in the entire series with the stained glass… Belle also has a book and a rose.
	Blonde Triplet Paula We speculated on how and if they would include these girls and this sets up an obvious variant. If the other two girls are not included, a major disappointment. If they are… one of the biggest wins in Vinylmation history. We also get variants. As expected her other triplets.
	Cogsworth Perfect fit on the Mickey platform. Wonderful face.
	Gaston I’ll be honest, I love the Villains version more, but he is done well with the arrows on the back and fun ears.
	Phillipe I didn’t expect him, yet am glad he is in the set. might be the one of the best looking long animals on the Mickey platform. Perfect proportions.
	Lefou His build naturally fits onto the vinyl form, but it is the clothing that is tailored perfectly around the canvas and the pony tail hanging over the collar in the back that make this one great.
	Lumiere Can’t get any better than this. the accessory top was a must to make this figure perfect I commend the artists for knowing when to use items like that.
	Maurice Belle’s dad also gets gets a cape and again, it’s the faces that are done so well in this set.
	Monsieur D’arque Interesting add to this set. Really makes me wonder about the chaser even more now. I love the addition and the design is wonderful. Not many people would think of him for this set, so I applaud the artist. Coins in ear a must.
	Mrs. Potts WOW! This one blows me away. So much to see here. A clear pink body sets up the table and some dancing plates, spoons and forks. Then Mrs. Potts fills out the head with perfection and a handle drawn onto the rear. THEN, CHIP! Drawn onto the ear. Best figure in the set, hands down.
	Mystery Chaser Here is Adam, the Beast as a human. What do you think? My female friends (when I was in middle school) always said he was hotter as the beast.
