Buzzing Around the Flower & Garden Festival

I decided to take Mom to the Flower and Garden Festival at EPCOT this past Sunday. Call it an early Mother’s Day gift… or more likely a way to get lunch paid for… either way, it was a beautiful day. Except… a swarm of killer bees kept following us around to all the flower beds and topiaries. They all looked very angry and it was sure terrifying, but we survived to tell the tale.

I also had my Red Sox Vinylmation on me… maybe a trip to WDW would refresh my team and get them on the winning path?

And I had time to take some pictures around other parts of the festival.

My User Had Me Upload These TRON Photos

The other day, Austin and I were recording the latest episode of YesterEARS on location at Disney Quest. Half way through the show, I took a break to play some old arcade games when I stumbled upon some interesting photos that fell behind one of the cabinets. Take a look…

It appears that Kevin and Sam Flynn visited this place at one point too.
And what’s this? The entire gang playing some old school TRON? Also, next to the photos was this old poster all rolled up against the wall.
End of line.

Villains 1: Magic Kingdom Under Attack

Last year, with the help of some readers, we documented the Villains 1 invasion of Florida. Well, after laying low for a while, they recently were seen around the Magic Kingdom. Apparently they thought The Swiss Family Robinson’s Tree House was a prime hideout location.

Bad Pete protects the ammo.

Bonsai takes lookout in the rocks.

Cruella stands guard on the bridge.

Kaa slithers up a rope for a surprise attack.

Madam Mim practices her potions.

Prince John relaxes in his cabin upstairs while the other Villains do the dirty work.

What is the old hag doing with all that fruit?

Governor Ratcliffe mans the cannons.

Shan Yu plots the course of attack.

Stromboli plays around in the music room.

Ursula is in charge of the water supply.
Jafar guards the treasures.

Easter Bunny at Magic Kingdom

The Easter Bunny hopped through the Magic Kingdom last week and Austin and I were there to capture the moment.

Hopping by the hub’s flower garden.
He checked out the castle
Who stepped in my flower bed!!??

Animation 1 Photoshoot

With the Art of Animation Resort opening at Walt Disney World tomorrow, I thought it would be a great time to share some pictures of Animation 1.
Austin and I followed them around the parks for the day as they visited their favorite areas. (captions by Austin) More photos on our Facebook page

Disney Character Star Wars Photoshoot

What a coincidence. While at Star Wars Weekends at Disney’s Hollywood Studios the other day we ran into the Disney Character Star Wars figures checking out the festivities. It seems as if they hung out at Star Tours for a while and then visited some of their favorite attractions.

Pete dressed as Boba Fett and stood in line for an hour to meet Jaba, only to find out this was the real Boba Fett’s meet and greet line…. awkward.

Darth Vader Goofy figured the first step to (Disney) world domination is research. So he hopped aboard the Studio Backlot Tour to learn more… complete waste of time.

Princess Leia Minnie used her alone time to take in a show. Not even Obi Wan could save her from this performance.

Stormtrooper Donald decided to terrorize some guests.

X-Wing Pilot Mickey figured he would learn the ways of the force from some Jedi Masters…

…in hopes of improving his pathetic 23,000 point score on Toy Story Midway Mania.

Stitch Yoda found out the hard way… Help answer trivia questions, the force does not.
“These are not the Fast Passes you are looking for.”

Flower & Garden Vinyl Photoshoot

Spring has sprung… well, at least at EPCOT it has. The annual Flower & Garden Festival has given us a single commemorative Vinylmation a few year back. I figured it was about time the little guy visited the event it was designed for. I also tossed the single Food & Wine figure into the mix since we were at EPCOT and also edited up some more topiary photos from this years event.

D-23 Vinyls Photoshoot

D-23 Expo 2011 saw a few exclusive vinyls released for the event. With the dates for the next expo recently announced (August 9-11, 2013), we thought it’d be fun to take a couple of last year’s figures to the parks for a few pictures. I’m talking to you, Davy Crockett and Gladestone Gander.

Gladestone takes a stroll through old Hollywood.

Urban 8 Photoshoot

There are so many little details around Disney’s Animal Kingdom. So with Urban 6 photos at EPCOT and Urban 7 at DHS, Austin and I decided to take Urban 8 around AK. Many of the pictures here were taken inside the Kali River Rapids queue. As always, you can find some different pics from this shoot on our Facebook page.

This Thomas Scott design sat on the wall and watched us take pictures.
Thomas Scott’s Barricades guarded the entrance to the treasure.
They also protected guests from dangerous turns.
And here they stood watch by Chester’s and Hester’s.
But the Barricades got into a little trouble by the Tree of Life.
The beads design sits atop a ruined hotel sign.
Frenchy gets home on his Schwinn.
Not a Rainforest Cafe, but the Tree of Life will do for this frog.
Casey Jone’s Gnome is right at home in back of Chester’s and Hester’s.
Group shot! Just outside the Kali queue.
Monty’s creation hangs by an antenna for better reception.
What food item temps you the most?
Look what trinket is found on this desk.
Rudos vs. The Dragon
Casey’s squirrel finds a roof top to perch on.
Maria Clapsis designed this Aztec Warrior who slayed a mighty beast.

Park 8 Photoshoot

Recently, we got a sneak peak at a figure from Park 9. Park 9! Hold on there Disney, we are still enjoying Park 8. It did force us to get in gear and finish up our Park 8 photoshoot. We of course took the most recent series around Walt Disney World for some photos… and this is how it turned out. Thanks to Austin for help with the shoot and for providing the captions. We also posted some variant pictures on our Facebook page.
